It's our last weekend together.

Kind of weird when you think about it that way, isn't it?

It's that in-between time when you are watching the semi-finals http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/601673.html
and reading the Home Game http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/600987.html

and realizing "This will be over soon", running around getting your yearbooks signed before the final bell rings.

Which is followed by (at least for me) "Next season will start, and end, and then it will be over" Kind of a weird feeling. OK, there's no "kind of" in there.

What are you doing today?

haha, I like the yearbook analogy. I loved yearbook day in school.

oh, and I was supposed to go have my blood drawn, but the lab was closed. :/

I like the yearbook analogy too! Brought back memories... Or like nerd camp, we had shirts for everyone to sign. Not sure what people in Idol could sign? I guess our FB walls? :P

You're first!

It's hard to imagine this year without Idol going on. 10 months. 10 crazy but fun months. I won't be sure what to do with all that free time.,

And once it's all over? Yeah....

I just woke up. I haven't slept this late in a long time, but man was I tired. I'm still tired, but knew if I fell back asleep, it would be like 1 pm before I woke up again and that's too much like my college days for me (I used to sign up for afternoon classes and set my alarm for like noon. What a concept.)

Today marks two years since Java and I became an official couple. Two years. Thank you Gary (and [livejournal.com profile] morning_stand for introducing me to Idol) because without this crazy game, I wouldn't have had the best two years of my life (and there will be many more to come too!)

Ohh.
Lucky ag majors tend to have 8 am classes every term.
Yay for happy times.

Happy Anniversary! M and I had ours this week too, and I only remembered about it yesterday. Oops :D (I'm safe, because he forgot, too!) I should write something about it, really.

Currently I'm playing around on CastleVille, LOL. Shortly, I will be meeting up with my BFF to go get a mani/pedi, and I'll probably get my eyebrows waxed too, just because they've started to get a bit too Brooke Shields-ian for my tastes, LOL.

Otherwise, I'm missing the hubby (he's out of town until Monday). But I made some yummy French toast for brunch earlier, so that was good!

Sounds like a very nice day actually. I've only had two manis, one pedi in my entire life (and never at the same time). I keep thinking about it though!

I've got autumn-cleaning fever running through my veins. I'm clearing out [with staff help] a lot of out-of-date non-fiction parenting, pop psychology, and health&fitness titles from the nonfiction section at the store and making room for fresher things.

I'm also basking in the unspoken compliment that two of my college-aged nieces think I am cool enough to swipe from... I just saw them repost a DOCTOR WHO lolcat from my Facebook page onto their own pages.

Being the cool auntie is a good legacy.

If I play Season 9, I may just have to write lots of DW fanfic. [evil grin]

It's always awesome when younger relatives think you're cool :)

My niece is college-aged, but she's only 10 years younger than me. She still thinks I'm cool enough to hang out with. I'm glad it's like that!

I just got back from taking pictures at a 4-H show (kids and cows, adorable), then I met my dad for ice cream and now I am hanging around until I go off to the theatre for closing night of the play I'm in. A good day!

I have been working all day. I made my husband breakfast in bed, fed the chickens and let the dog out. I did laundry and put the dishwasher on. I redid all the work I'd started on the layout of the second book I'm putting out before Christmas because for some reason it didn't save (I finished the first layout earlier this week - yay for being vaguely on schedule!) and then took the family to visit the two kittens we are getting in a couple of weeks. Having dropped everyone back home, I went up to Abergavenny to do some birthday shopping for my husband (where I couldn't get what I wanted but did get some nice things) and some camping equipment before going to Tesco and buying food for the camp. Then I got back home and finished the layout, which means I've hit all my goals before going away. I like it when I'm productive.

Tomorrow I pack up the car so that we can leave on Monday after lunch. We are all very excited!

I played some Animal Crossing, and now we're talking about going out to eat, to get some household stuff, and also to a...game store! Dun dun dun! There is some talk about possibly getting a Wii, and we wanted to see a decent selection of Wii games.

And then, when we get home from all that - I really want to write that Seth story. Even if I don't get it finished in time for the contest, I still want to write it.

I'm also reading stuff about moral/ego/consciousness/spiritual development, as usual. And thinking that maybe I need to buy a gun and learn how to shoot it to protect myself from any Republican males who see me on the street and think "Oooh, free womb, I should go impregnate it against its will."

Today I have a rehearsal, have a lunch to celebrate a friends engagement, and am freaking out about how much I still have to get done.

I have enjoyed this season! I think there has been some great writing, I made friends with a few people early on, and so feel like I have gotten to know people better. *nods* very charming!

As much as I want to evilly cackle, the more rational side of me knows you don't fool around with hurricanes.

One show down, one show to go - we had the weirdest thing happen at our 3PM, had a guy who was participating, helped set up the rig, smiling and laughing, so I picked him out as my bullwhip volunteer. I keep getting him to holler out that the target should be smaller while my partner's holding it, he's on board. Then we get him up on stage, my partner goes to put the celery in his groin, and he hits her hand away and says, "I'm not doing that! It's disrespectful!"

The show comes to a grinding halt while I try to explain to him we're not going to hit him, etc, and he keeps saying it's disrespectful and he's not doing it.

So we replace him as a volunteer, God bless the guy who was cool enough to raise his hand and come on stage, and the idiot stays in the front row of the audience for the rest of the show. Because, apparently, it's disrespectful to have celery broken from your own groin, but not to watch it happen to someone else.

And he tipped.

Sometimes street performing is so bizarre...

Wait... final weekend? How short is the final week going to be?!

Today I am hoping to go out for a lunch date with just my husband. And maybe get some more writing done on my novel. I had a good go of it yesterday.
