Back in Black is the first album released by AC/DC with their second singer. Per their Wiki, another interesting fact is that "The album has sold an estimated 50 million copies worldwide to date, making it the second highest-selling album of all time."

It was also the video posted as a teaser for the season.

People have asked me all season long why we have two official Idol icons for the season.

There were two Topsy Turvys in play at one point in the competition.

Quite a few of the special powers were released in lots of two or on even numbered weeks. (Not all of them, didn't want to be *too* obvious!)

Week 22 was a non-elimination round, where special powers were handed out.

I flat out told everyone that there was a clue to the finale in the placement of Hell Week, and that it was math related. Hell Week was Week 36. 3/6. (and took us from an odd number, 7, to an even one, 4)

There have been a number of references throughout the season to "two" or even numbers. That's because we are having a Final Two this season. Some people like the Easter Eggs. Others don't care. But there are some of the ones I've thrown into the mix over the course of the season.

Right now, we have the poll that is going to help decide who those two contestants are going to be! http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/601673.html

So I hope you take the time, read, comment to, and enjoy those entries! After you check out that, go check out the final Home Game as well! http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/600987.html

I hope you folks are having as much fun as I am watching this unfold!

What other fun things do you have on your plate for the weekend?

I'm going to hang out with baby girl Idol. And my mom is probably coming to visit on Sunday, which is awesome.

I'll certainly be watching things unfold.
I remember [livejournal.com profile] whipchick catching my eye in the first couple of weeks as a writer with a lot of promise and a style that spoke to me in volumes--so I'm thrilled to see someone I pegged from the beginning as a favorite make it so far in the game.

Thanks to the folks who read my home game entry and have commented. I've still got a little more reading of home gamers to do.

My exciting news for the day is that I'm most likely going to NJ for 9 days in October!

I am seeing Chess (the musical) again on Sunday :D SO EXCITED. I saw it last Sunday and it was just beyond amazing, and not only because my favourite Aussie actress was the lead :)

Oh, cool! I've always loved the songs from that musical, even though I've never seen it.

Who's playing the lead?

Chess the musical? Never heard of it... Do the actors all dress like chess pieces?

On my plate this weekend? Almost certainly a large slice of banana bread, because the 'nanners got bruised on the way home from the grocery store - how better to rescue them?

I did notice that the last three didn't follow the usual pattern of having to write an entry about why all three should win.

I've read and commented and voted.

I imagine tonight we'll do our usual go out to eat thing, and then I will spend the weekend either writing an epic Seth as 15 year old boy going on adventures in the dark story, or playing Animal Crossing and Tales of Symphonia on the old dusty Gamecube. We'll see how motivated I get. Maybe listening to Eminem while I drive around today for work will help with the motivation thing.

We got rid of our Gamecube a few years ago, and I have to say, I miss it. Somehow it was my favourite console, even though I didn't play it that much!

So yesterday was 12, today is 10... So there's that 2 thing again and we lost 11 if we are thinking that's how many days we have left....

This weekend? It's my two year anniversary of making things Facebook Official with Java. We were together for a bit before that, but the 25th is the day he decided to ask and let us become official. So there will be celebrating and lots of sappy cuddling I'm sure (well that's every weekend, but you know...)

Today is his sister's birthday and I'll be heading over there for dinner tonight.

And I'm looking forward to sleep like you wouldn't believe. I hardly got any sleep this week. I'm whooped.

The Voting post was 11, just FYI. I guess it's the number of entries that Gary will be making, not necessarily the days left?

"Facebook Official" - hahahaha! Enjoy your anniversary!

It's almost 10 on Friday night and I'm baking cinnamon-sultana bread. I made a double batch, so we'd have two loaves to last us the weekend (it's a popular snack with everyone!) and I also used new yeast...

heh. When I took off the tea towel to see if the loaves had proved, it was obvious just how much I'd had to compensate for the old yeast... let's just say that both loaves are going to end up rather more voluptuous than I'd anticipated! Something to remember for next time :D

Other than that, it's a quiet weekend here. I gave S (5 y-o) a piggyback today while walking him home from school and realised that it's possibly something I should refrain from in my current condition. I ache!

Just heard the news about the mass shooting at the Empire State Building this morning.

I don't even know what to say at this point, since it's obvious that most people think that losing multiple lives every month at this point is a totally reasonable blood tax for the benefit of open access gun ownership.

I made a batch of Bacon-Cheddar Corn Muffins this morning for work. Turns out Bosslady picked up some Panera bagels to bring in this morning too, so we've been feasting!

Tonight my BFF and I are going out to see "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel", then dinner at Ramsey's afterwards. Should be a fun Girl's Night!

I'm another who has already read, commented, and voted ;) It's pretty easy to do when there's only 3 contestants with one entry a piece! Fingers crossed I can still make time for more home game reading. I've only read [livejournal.com profile] i_17bingo's so far, since I'm a huge fan, and he's my editor, and yadda yadda yadda.

This weekend I am debating whether or not to go to someone's going away bash on Saturday night. I've only met him a couple of times, through stand-up comedy, but he's a screenwriter like me and he's going to be moving to the US to develop his craft further. Plus I have other friends going.

Other than that, hoping I can fit in some novel writing time. I'm not sure I'm going to make my personal deadline for finishing it on the 6th any more. I still have a lot to write, and I'm flying to Osaka on the 31st for my first international vacation with my husband, without the kids, since we had them. It's just for the long weekend.

Hmm... and maybe we'll get a belated birthday cake for our second son. He turned 2 yesterday.

For those of us who are looking ahead and thinking, WTF am I going to DO without PROMPTS?

A blog to recommend - http://betsylerner.wordpress.com/

Betsy Lerner wrote a terrific book, The Forest For the Trees, about writing and getting published, and she keeps a mostly-daily blog. Her posts are short and urgent and most days they end with a question...that's like a prompt :)
