therealljidolIt’s almost the end of the season, and I know the contestants are getting stressed.
Fortunately, I consulted with Representative Todd Akin and he reassured me that the body has ways of dealing with LEGITIMATE stress!
Therefore, any stress you might *think* you are feeling, is completely imaginary.
Now go off and get your socialist student loans and free/discounted school lunches. Because they won’t last much longer you free-loaders!!

(I was raised in a very liberal, accepting family and had friends on both sides, but none were as ridiculous as this guy).

Child mortality rates were so high parents often outlived most of their children.
But I find the living to be a lot more frightening then the dead.
A word about concrit
Date: 2012-08-20 02:15 pm (UTC)A lot of people with fanfic backgrounds come from communities where concrit is "opt out," meaning everyone expects to get or give concrit unless somone says they don't want it.
A lot of people in Idol do not come from these backgrounds and are writing in public for the first time, are feeling out of their depths, or self conscious, and unexpected concrit can be paralyzing for them.
So, unless you know a person is expecting your concrit, it's best to ask first, or just keep it to yourself.
I also think that "giving helpful concrit" would be a good topic for a future work room.
Opinions are like, etc. not everyone wants to see everyone else's.

Date: 2012-08-20 02:22 pm (UTC)Besides, if next season is as big as season 8 or bigger, I'm not gonna want to spend the time necessary to put together concrit for every entry that asks for it, either. That's too many entries to read and spend that much time thinking about. xD
But later on in the season for s9? Sure, I'll give out concrit. And I'll leave concrit threads in my entries, as well. :)
I would love to see a work room about giving helpful concrit, too.

Date: 2012-08-20 02:29 pm (UTC)I'm open to it, I've sought it out when I've had the time to do so.... But I know not everyone feels the same way. I give it only when someone expressly asks for it from me.
And I'm not a fan of leaving it in the entry itself if it's up for a vote. Mainly because I'd hate to influence anyone reading the comments. I prefer one-on-one through email.
