therealljidolWe just got back from the Humane Society with an adorable 2 month old terrier! 
Her current name is Lilly, but that will probably be changing soon. Any ideas? (I'm still trying to convince them of "Idol"! It's a great name!)
There are a lot of things to see and do in the Idolverse this weekend!

Java and I are going to run some errands and grab some dinner. We can't make up our minds about what we want to eat, we are done with fast food after last weekend but I haven't been to a grocery store in a week.... Soooo....
Food adventure, here we come. And cupcakes too since I have a coupon for Sprinkles Cupcakes!

I think Idol would be a perfect name for the pup!

Earlier today we had brunch at Cracker Barrel, then went to the World's Longest Yard Sale (held at intervals up and down US 127). We stopped at several different places along the way, but other than cookie and some postcards, I didn't buy anything. It's always fun to look, though!

We just returned from Epic Afternoon Out, where we ran errands then braved the traffic on the way to my in laws' for a swim. They weren't home, so we drove around and discovered one of the neighboring towns is having its Heritage Days Weekend -- they block off the streets and there's free music and food and vendors, all that good stuff :) We then took a leisurely drive home and had dinner on the way.
Now that my belly is stuffed, I'm about to fall over :o

Date: 2012-08-05 12:36 am (UTC)I'm struggling to be able to sleep comfortably at night (ONE MONTH TO GO, YOU GUYS!!!) but the bonus is that at least I have Olympics to watch, and due to the time difference, it goes almost all the way through the night! Yay!
Other than that, the weekend has been cooking and cleaning and being a little annoyed by what I want to achieve (everything) vs how much energy I have (considerably less than is needed to do everything). I had a bizarre dream last night which involved my finding a whole roasting chicken in the fridge that expired today (it had 7th August on the label... how weird that my subconscious was aware of the date!) and deciding to have roast chicken for Sunday dinner. Instead, we'll probably have fish and chips.

Date: 2012-08-05 04:00 am (UTC)What am I doing??? cooking for prodigal son, trying to deal with pain, thinking about painting, fighting to put washing out in a gale. Planning for when I have some energy again.(it will happen) Was kept awake by a crazy feline trying to get in my son's room, the determined cat had to be shut in the bathroom in the end.
Still having issues after knee reconstruction, to say it has not been plain sailing sums it up. Pain, lack of flexion, more pain, swelling, more pain...etc.

Date: 2012-08-06 01:44 pm (UTC)At two months, you can rename her without her being confused, so you can pretty much go with whatever you like. I could throw a huge number of names at you, but if you're set on renaming her, best thing to do is to follow Alyce's suggestions and hang out with her for a bit before you rename her. Galahad's name came from a mongrel I had when I was little who was called Peregrine Algernon Lancelot and although I'd tried other names on him, when I decided he should be named after one of Arthur's knights, Galahad is the name which stuck - and he answered to it immediately too.
I think you'll find she'll name herself. However, to reiterate what others have said, you should practice what you preach and call her Idol. It is, after all, a brilliant name for babies and she's a very cute baby.
