100 Weeks

While waiting for the next round to be unleashed, I went back through my list of “People Who Will Hit 100 Weeks in the Near Future”, as part of my Pre-Season 9 prep, and realized that there were seasons missing from their list! So I went back and looked, and sure enough... there were two contestants who should have been honored a couple weeks ago!

Neither one of them mentioned it to me, so maybe they don’t even realize! Or maybe they were just being polite.... either way, I feel really bad about missing out on giving them their due when the time was right.

But, better late than never, right??

With that in mind, it is with a great deal of satisfaction that we officially add two more names to the “100 Weeks” club!

I don’t need to tell you how awesome these women are, I suspect that you more than know that on your own!

Good point! I was planning on showing up anyway, but it's sort of frustrating that technically it will have taken me six seasons to reach the 100 mark. But I'm a stubborn chick, so there ya go!

How many weeks have you done? I wouldn't have thought Gary counted alts, though maybe it depends if you're not doing an alt AND your real account at the same time.

I'm not certain, but I think it's probably in the high 80s or low 90s. And if you don't count my alt journal run as rivermirage in Season 6, it's much lower!

I guess we'll have to see when Gary announces your 100 weeks (if you do next season) whether he counts that or not.

That's what I figure too. But your alts were in competition at the same time as you were under your main account, whereas Alyce didn't compete under her main ID at the same time as rivermirage, so I don't know if he'd factor that differently.

It's weeks total, not counting them individually.

Do weeks in second chance count then?

Not that my one week in second chance this season would make any difference to me making 100 weeks. XD

Do you count it from how many weeks survived, or do you count the week someone was voted out/left as well? (Now I'm curious to see how many weeks I actually have, but I think it's only about 50, like I said before).

Heh, okay, if it's weeks played in the competition (including bye weeks, right?) then I'm at 49. I was voted out in week 27 last season, and 21 season 6 :/)

So in theory I should have reached 100 weeks sooner then, since SCI weeks are on a different timescale to regular Idol weeks and Echo was in that? Or the week I was out as Theafaye but still in as Alley counted?

At first, I was confused and thought you were saying I did 55 weeks total. But yes, that sounds about right, if you combine Seasons 5 and 6. You're right; if I'd competed in Season 7, I'd already be there!
