There is this meme I’ve seen going around saying: “For All the Guys Who Complain That Women Don’t Come With an Instruction Manual: FOUND ONE” with a picture of 50 Shades of Grey/ any number of the “men do this/women do this” BS that just propagates this mindlessness.

And then there was the video of the guy on Glenn Beck going around screaming about the President paraphrasing Truman.

I read the comments on the second one and honestly feel like I’ve lost several IQ points.

When I read yahoo, I suspect most of them are trolls. When I read things like attacking various fact check organizations, includng snopes, I have to wonder if I’m not just fooling myself.

I get forwards in my work email all the time - not just political stuff, but “household tips” that seem to be completely wrong. So I look them up - and sure enough, they aren’t based on anything remotely credible.

So you tell people that those sources are the ones who are wrong - that you can indeed have this miraculous sounding result, and if you don’t, then maybe you did it wrong... but then when actual news comes along - and they try to correct the idiocy coming out of some talking head’s mouth - well, you’ve already convinced those in your sphere to just ignore them.

It’s brilliant really, and it’s amazing how many people actually believe them - or don’t do their own thinking, who don’t have the innate curiosity to go out there and look at information and process it.

Then again, I shouldn’t be surprised.

After all, you can find out all you need to know about women from 50 Shades of Grey, and all men are assholes. I read it online.

I would go check it out somewhere. But that’s all biased garbage.

There are days when I seriously worry about humanity.

I read the intro several times over trying to decipher some hidden meaning there... Maybe I'm just paranoid with the scary polls.

I haven't had a chance to respond on FB yet, but I know Gary mentioned Newsroom and u was just tagged by another Idoler on FB saying I looked like Allison Pill from that she. So I've been googling... And I can see similarities. That's how I've been spending my evening outside of taking care of Annabelle, refreshing the poll and reading entries.

This vote is evil. Especially for the last poll. Which I find it incredibly evil that Gary put the smallest poll on bottom when I'm sure the same people can't be eliminated from each :P

That reminds me, they are working on the script for the Dragon Riders of Pern trilogy - have a writer.
Sad thing is way people are there will probly be a bunch of idiots out there claiming that its a rip off of the -Eragon - books.
Never mind that those books came first by a lot.

I do not worry about my self - it would be a waist of time, which as we all know is relitive and a far better one then some of mine most of whom I do not even know there are just too many of them - Rollings breed like rabbits.
Also I has the sad. Eureka is now done (unless they make Eureka movies which is possible given the end) I did like that they ended the show the same way it started. That was cool.

I haven't seen any of the new Eurekas! My mom and I dropped a lot of our shows when we took my grandmother in, because now we're only watching stuff she'll enjoy. They're there, languishing away in the DVR, and hopefully we'll get to catch up before some tech disaster happens to wipe out the recordings. Not that it won't be on DVD later, but, you know.

I just hate this seemingly never-ending stereotype of “the genders are from different worlds and can never understand each other”. Firstly, because it buys into the idea that there are two genders rather than a hell of a lot of (excuse the reference) “Shades of Grey”. (People as crappy fanfic)

But also that you could get an one-sized fits all “instruction manual” to someone understand all of them.

Now, that being said, there are some folks that I would *love* to learn their individualized “cheat codes”! ;)

We can only give a person immunity once. If they've had it before, they can't have it again.
