As I mentioned in the poll post, we have reached our Top 50. Which is an amazing place for anyone to be - so although it's difficult to say goodbye to people, there is also the aspect of "It was an amazing run" also in place.

It's that second part that keeps going through my head with these two contestants, even if one of them had an abbreviated one from coming in from Second Chance, they both made their mark.

Goodbye to

[livejournal.com profile] magicmarmot
and
[livejournal.com profile] vaudy

it's interesting, because I went back to [livejournal.com profile] vaudy's intro, trying to remember how many seasons she has been involved with, only to realize that this was the first! It certainly doesn't feel like it. Maybe it's because I've seen the name before from supporting other people playing, or maybe there are just some people who feel like they belong here...

Hopefully, both of them will be veterans next time around, and in the meantime, we will continue to see them in the Home Game.

Coming in from SCI is always tough. I hope magicmarmot comes back next season, I really don't feel like I've had a chance to get to know her while being so busy with RL. She seemed awesome though and I liked everything I did read.

And Vaudy was an early favorite of mine. She really did seem to just belong here, and I've really enjoyed getting to know her this season.

Both need to be veterans next season and stick around this season :)

Just an FYI, Her is a Him, though I'm thoroughly charmed at the gender flop. There aren't a lot of gender-identified women horror writers, though I do suppose that gender identity as a writer is pretty secondary.

And yeah, I'll probably be back, if life does not horribly get in the way yet again.

Ack I'm sorry. This sadly isn't the first time I've done this. I did the same to Java when I first started talking to him. I went on and on in a list about how sweet "she" was only to have him correct me himself. He writes horror too. So what's up with me doing this?!?

I'm thoroughly sorry as I really hadn't gotten to know you well enough obviously.

Not a thing to be sorry about. :D

I'm rather pleased, to be honest.

I think it's because there are an awful lot of female horror writers in Idol. We skew the stats :oP

Aw, thanks, Gary!

I can't really say I'm surprised. I just didn't have time this week to put in my best work. But I did have a good run, and I went out writing, which is what I wanted to do. This was a fantastic experience.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me and left such nice comments on my work, even though I'm a slug and really bad at replying (I'm sorry). I may take this week off to concentrate on my choir concert, but you will almost certainly see me Home Gaming it sometime soon.

I must admit that I was thinking of you as a vet as well, which says a lot about how you've established yourself as a name in Idol. Definitely home game it!

You made the Top 50 and that's a great accomplishment, too. Hope you both can grace us with a home game entry or at least pop into the GR to keep in touch! :)

OHHHHHH. two great writers and I honestly have looked up to you, and will be sorry to see you go, you get used to names and styles, so sorry.

But as Myrna bird says TOP 50, whoo hoo! an achievement to be proud of.

I loved magicmarmot's entry this week. I was enthralled the whole way through. It was one of my favorites, and I actually added it to my memories so I can find it easily to read again some time.

So I am rather sad. *sad face*

It had to happen eventually.

I originally joined in Second Chance on a lark, goaded my my friend [livejournal.com profile] karmasoup. I honestly expected to get the Boot of Shame very early, but was rather pleasantly surprised at how positive everyone was, and how genuinely supportive.

I've written more, consistently, in the past several weeks than I have in... well, ever. And my writing has improved. It's still not ready-for-prime-time, but I've managed to talk myself into finding an editor/writing partner, and will be likely taking on some new challenges back here in the trenches.

I do need to take some time away though. Life has a funny way of folding itself into your lap like some sort of pudding monster, and I've been infused lately with some with some crisis/opportunity pairs that need some tending to that have very little to do with writing.

I'll probably come back and read. Y'all are a really phenomenally talented bunch of folks, and I've been honored and excited to be able to play in the sandbox with you, even though I always smelled slightly of wet dog and slightly moldy cheese.

And I've made some friends, and become fans of a few, and thoroughly enjoyed pushing to meet the challenges involved.

It has been an excellent experience.

It's also my birthday on Saturday, so as part of my celebration, I will NOT be writing. :P

SO long, and Thank you for all the words.

-Rob-

Me too; this has been one of the best things about LJ Idol for me.

Good luck with the crises/opportunities!

Maybe in a while. I have some other things that need attention. Aside from writing, I also make movies and other *things*. One of the shows I work on, Transylvania Television

http://www.transylvania-tv.com

has been picked up by a regional TV network in Houston, and is actually appearing on-air there, hopefully with more to come.

Funny enough, I don't write for the show. :)

I also do recording for a friend of mine who is in his third season as one of the lead actors in the web audio series "Empire of Blood" (no link, sorry), and I'm negotiating with another friend to become her producer for a YouTube channel. That's still in the fairly iffy stages, but so far it's been positive.

And then there is work, which has been absorbing huge amounts of my time bringing a product into the final phases of production and leaving me exhausted.

And fostering greyhounds.

And maintaining my many relationships with the wonderful ladies in my harem, counting my large stacks of gold coins, and considering my run for the next presidency.

Okay, all of that may not be entirely true.
