Green Room - Week 24 - Day 2
Apr. 21st, 2012 03:05 pmTo keep things interesting, I have opened up the Idol basement so that you can go through and pick through all of the toys there. Once you pick, the monster(s) that are associated with those toys will show up to tear you apart for your transgressions!
It's a lot of fun!
Well, a lot of fun for me, and isn't that what it's all about?
I will give you a head start once the monsters are released. A good second. Maybe two. That's sporting!
Other things going on today are:
The new topic: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/559264.html
The home game thread: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/559822.html
And, of course, the Work Room: http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/559545.html
But really, monsters hunting you down!! That's a great way to spend a weekend! Well, at least the next hour or so, until the get the last of you!

Date: 2012-04-21 07:16 pm (UTC)On the plus side, I actually wrote a poetic Home Game (http://roina-arwen.livejournal.com/1572562.html) entry this week, since it coordinated with what I'm doing for National Poetry Writing Month - w00 twofers! I posted it to the HG thread, but I figured I'd put out a heads up in the GR too. ;)
In other news, I made a batch of sausage gravy (homemade! from scratch!) for breakfast this morning, along with some Grands biscuits and scrambled eggs with cheese. Mmmmm... so good!!

Date: 2012-04-21 07:17 pm (UTC)That being said... Why did I think it was a good idea to let them rip out a wisdom tooth and cut a piece of my jaw out?!? Why oh why?!?
While I'm recovering, I've missed a lot of work, discovered I really have no desire to go back and thus I'm researching going back to school. One test down for one potential path, I'll be signing up for another one soon to go down a different path. Today I'm fantasizing about the Ph.D program in Urban Planning from UCLA. It's partnered with their Social Welfare program and would be right up my alley. Dr. Kristen does sound pretty awesome, I think. Especially a Dr. Kristen with a degree from UCLA.
Enough day dreaming for now. Anyone else ever watch My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding? I can't believe I got sucked in last night... I haven't had cable in years and that's what I watch? Though there is more than just wedding stuff, it's all about the modern gypsy culture and I love learning about different cultures... So that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Date: 2012-04-21 08:07 pm (UTC)For me, it was a fair trade. I think, in the long run, the same will be true for you.
But I'm sorry you're in pain now. *HUG*

Which means
I've wasted a full year of my lifeI must be far more talented than I gave myself credit for.You know, I'm actually starting to enjoy "saying" that...

Date: 2012-04-21 07:56 pm (UTC)You think I don't *WANT* to be eaten by monsters.
OK, things aren't anywhere near that bad. But I did end up tossing the story idea that I originally wanted to write over serious concerns of how it related to the prompt -- I was going to use a somewhat obscure reference to the phrase, and I started to seriously worry how many people would see the connection.
The good news is that I think I've managed to come up with an alternative idea which definitely fits the prompt... in more ways than one. I don't think the new piece will be quite as potent as my original idea, but it's still strong.
I've had a few more folks respond to that question regarding LJI in my "experimental post", so I'm going to put up the direct link again for anyone who is curious about the responses. But I wouldn't mind more "general" posts/questions either. Except for one unpleasant post, I've been extremely pleased by the responses so far:
