I guess I'm celebrating 4/20 by still feeling drugged out on Vicodin. This experience has taught me exactly why I don't do drugs or drink much anymore... I don't like this feeling. At all. Then again, I was young and stupid at one time and not always such an old, boring person who apparently can't take Vicodin without losing days at a time.

I'm at work. I shouldn't be. I couldn't remember the code to the color printer I use daily and it's taken me almost 2 hours to figure that out. My brain feels slow and hazy.

I live in California and all... Where marijuana is practically legal. Why isn't today a holiday? Huh? :P

Your aversion to being high and weakness with Vicodin doesn't make you boring! I took ONE Vicodin, once and hated the stupid thing. Mine didn't make me feel brain-fuzzy, though. And it didn't reduce my pain. All it did was maybe make me sleepy and DEFINITELY make me dizzy. Have-to-lie-on-the-floor dizzy.

Vicodin, you're just too easy to rant about.

Geez, this week has been hard enough without getting stomped on.

Actually, we had a very nice night yesterday, taking the kids to see Phineas and Ferb Live, but I have so much to get done today! I also need to eat something, because I munched on some cereal for breakfast and then couldn't keep it down (NOT PREGNANT, DON'T EVEN THINK THAT RIDICULOUS LJI FERTILITY GODS).

So yeah... busy day, chaperoning the 5-7 year old rec night tonight, hoping to do some writing and then chat with some friends on g+ (if I don't pass out beforehand).

Good afternoon, Green Room! How's things? My oldest left for boot camp on Monday and then will be off to the Defense Language Institute in CA thereafter. We're proud and happy and excited and missing her, so it's been a bit of a weird week.

Working at my homebase office today, so I have internet access! That always makes me happy! Of course, I've been goofing around on it, and should probably go do some actual work now.

I'm still churning over ideas for the prompt. As in, would writing about one of my areas of pseudo-expertise be an obvious fulfillment of the prompt? Or will I be forced to write about actual wheels?

But I'm still having the weird vision problem.

So: appointments with specialists have been made. But honestly, I'm viewing this as good news: If there is something wrong, it must be in such a early stage that only a specialist can detect it... and that means the odds are good that it will be easy to treat.

And maybe the treatment will involve ingesting copious amounts of THC! :D


I'll write more later... but I know several folks were worried about me, so I'm putting this out there...

I'm glad the initial news was good.

Do you perhaps have swelling in the eyes? That can cause visual problems. Knowing why there's swelling is a whole different question, but the "what" can be treated in the meantime, if that's it.

I don't get the 4/20 thing.

But Sunday is Earth Day. Which will likely earn me another kicking. S'okay, I know how to kick back.

For now, though, the most important thing is to get my grandmother down the porch steps so she can get to her doctor's appointment. She's always been a little nervous about those steps when she'd come to visit, and as unsteady as she it lately, she's downright terrified. If only we could get her to calm down, it would be way easier.

I got a lot of interesting responses to that question in my "experimental blog entry".

I love the smell of pot. I've never smoked it myself but - and this is gonna sound really stereotypical - it reminds me of the Netherlands. I'd never smelled it before my first trip to Amsterdam. Now the smell just makes me all nostalgic :D I think I came close to a few second-hand highs over there as well.

Also I just saw a really weird show where possibly the writers were high.
