I am so stressed about work today. Ugh. I have an enormous project that I've been sort of flailing on for a while. I'm finally starting to understand bits of what to do, but now the deadline is like 2 weeks away and I don't know how I'm going to make it unless I work mega-overtime.

And if I have to work mega-overtime, that's likely going to be the end of my participation in Idol because I barely have time to do it as things stand without mega-overtime. But we'll see. Maybe I'll manage to pull it all out of my... hat.

What's binding me? Just work. I'm skipping out of this expensive dinner I could go to with work. I decided I'd rather stay home and watch Survivor than hang out with work peeps. Plus there's the boarding of the beast so she's not crated all day and I really can't afford that. Pay $37 to board the dog so I could eat $50 a plate pasta in Laguna Beach? Sure, I still come out ahead there, but I'd rather sit at home with my puppy watching Survivor and eating leftovers. That actually sounds like a good night to me.

I'm pretty antisocial I suppose, huh? Just after spending an entire day with work people, giving up my evening to them (even with a ridiculously pricey dinner) doesn't sound appealing to me. Besides, I'm a busy girl with Idol entries to read and one to write :)

The news from here is that I found my wallet, woke up without much stomach pain and WITH clear lungs, and have gotten lots done today. And my car needs four new tires, but I kinda suspected that. No results yet on the tests for strep and h. pylori, but I doubt I have either. I'm working on packing lists for my family's trip, first time on an airplane since we adopted the kids. And I'm putting together an application for a year-long writing course that will help me finish my book.

Gravity is binding me to this planet. Idol is continuing to bind my soul and suck out my brain, too. Other things? A daunting email I have to send, that's also binding me.

A couple different ideas for this week's topic are trying to bind me, but one is an, erm, weaker force than the other. We shall have to wait and see what I actually end up writing!

My life is currently not my own... our show (http://www.becketplayers.ca/) opens in 9, count 'em NINE days! and there is SO.MUCH.TO.DO. Between now and Sunday night, I have 22 hours of rehearsal and tech time to live through, plus some costumes to complete, and some singer choreography to teach... oh yeah, and my job!

I think I need a drink.

I am honored to live in the same city as a verified mystic. Snarkiness aside, it's wonderful to see spirituality and magic right next door, literally.

Had a dream last night that I was telling a story to my son in French, but I had to look up the words for blanket. Looking it up now, it's nothing like what I found in the dream, which makes me thinks my dream French is somewhat less than stellar.

Now, on an entirely different topic, I'm working on a story for Yahoo! Movies, due Friday, to coincide with the release of "The Cabin in the Woods." The title of my article, from the assignment, is "Joss Whedon: Big screen vs. small screen."

So, Joss Whedon fans, what points should I be certain to include? I already have some thoughts of my own, but I want to see what others think about Whedon's oeuvre.
