It's never easy to lose people, but there's something extra frustrating about having them drop. Especially when you know how well they were doing, and how much they are going to be missed. Unfortunately, that's exactly the situation we had this week, with five contestants unable to make the deadline and needing to officially drop out of the competition.

I'm starting to take it personally. ;)

Thank you to all of you for 18 weeks of wonderful entries, I hope to see you in the Home Game so that we can have even more!

For those of you remaining though, we have another week of polls, and another week of outstanding entries for everyone to read, comment and hopefully cast a vote to support! And, of course, another week of Doom. Or at least "mini Doom".

There are still two tribes, and we will be losing the bottom three from each of them. So make sure to support your favorites!

The poll closes Thursday, March 22nd at 9pm EDT.

Note: The poll wasn't originally scheduled to be "community only", but it is. So that's how the universe wanted it to be. We'll go with that.)

Those names make me so sad :( joyfulfeather was one of my favorites, someone I thought would go far. Nyx is just awesome and another person I expected to go really far. Heck, who am I kidding? All those names could have won it all and they all produced work I appreciated this season.

I have to respect that the five had their reasons for leaving but I really don't like it. All five have written so many good stories. I will miss having them here. :(

I've had a great time this season, but the added challenge of having no access to LJ at work has made it really difficult for me to be able to keep up. I haven't been able to devote the time to the competition that I would like to be devoting. Also, I plain ran out of time this week for an entry, so... it's probably for the best, considering my lack of being able to participate.

I'll still be around, folks! :) Maybe I'll even play the home game on occasion.

Oh and *ahem* my entry is no longer friends only. I dunno what happened or if it was like that the whole time? I edited something from my phone about 30 minutes to the deadline. I forgot to capitalize something and caught it... And I guess made my entry hidden.

It's like when I first posted it, my edits hadn't taken for some reason. But I caught that the day I posted.

But still... Technology and me don't mix this week. I think LJ is screwing with me.

I didn't have much of a choice at this juncture. I haven't had time to do the reading and commenting that everyone deserved; I've barely had time to comment on my own entries' comments! (I've barely had time to even duck in and post about my life, for that matter).

For some reason nothing bubbled immediately to the surface on this topic, even though it was a good one. Then life took over and I wasn't able to give it any real thought until about a half hour before the deadline. And even then I would have had to ignore two work emails to do anything.

The real tragedy here is that I won't be able to do my Ahab rant that I had planned up in case I got voted off. ( and all that. Maybe next season. :)

I'm seriously boggled by the people whose names are beside mine on the drop list. It's one thing for little me to go, but those other names are whoppers. Sorry to see you all go!

As for me, it's a combo of not having the time/energy/motivation to put towards the game that it really deserves and an utter lack of anything resembling an idea for an entry for this week's topic. Guess it was just my time to go.

Alas, real life just finally could not be shouted down, beaten, or blasted out of the way anymore. It has been immensely hard for me to scratch my way this far into the season, and it just became clear that it was folly to think I was going to pull something out for this week -- and it was only going to get worse for me over the next month.

And with the possibility of intersections coming and so on, I didn't want to take any chances of possibly taking someone out with me, and... yeah. It just had to be done.

I've so enjoyed the contest this season, have read some of the best things I have ever read anywhere (same as last year), and have been humbled to participate in this with so many fantastically talented and downright awesome people.

Have so little time, but am hoping to do some useable miniatures for a new exhibition in May, and
I am going to see 'Sweeny Todd' who is in our neck of the woods,-- on Thursday. I live in the wilds so will travel by bus for four hours to get there... Hope I stay awake for the day, I leave at 6.30am, BUT Am looking forward to it. Two glasses of wine bartender!

Just spent a lot of the day getting lost in Melbourne, meeting Sweeny Todd,!#! awesome happy person; Just so good to see her, then, drinking wine,and sitting in the sun as we compared lives, now have to get my poor bones together and see if I am dead wood or not...was awake at 5am, bus at 6am. and got home at 9pm... so not much of the day left. Is tomorrow the Moment of doom? too tired to even think about it tonight.
