Yes, it is :D It is a bit early for us Americans to be drunk (distinguished from 'Mericans), but that's not stopping the people who I saw entering the college dive bar on the way back from the grocery store.

The Green Room seems extra green this morning. I had Lucky Charms at work yesterday as part of our "Magically Delicious" potluck breakfast. My Irish Soda bread turned out really well, yum!

Not much else planned for today besides the usual - laundry, TV, etc. It's sorta nice not to have to worry about a deadline... ;)

Considering how I own way more clothes that I actually need, surprisingly few of them are green. I will have to dig through my wardrobe to find something thematically appropriate.

I don't tend to wear green very much. The closest I could get (which I wore to work for our potluck yesterday) was a tie-dye shirt (mostly green, some teal and yellow and stuff) that I got from Kauai, with "Peace, Love, and Coffee" wordage & icons on it.

Today I am doing my own thing and wearing my purple Jell-o t-shirt, lol. But my socks are green, so at least that's something!

Over the course of the last week I've posted several messages about the drama and agita surrounding the festivities. You can go read them if you like; I don't care to repeat the details.

I want to thank all the LJers who gave me advice on the matter. I greatly appreciate your support, and I can honestly say I've come to terms with the issues I've written about. Please note that I am not happy... but I no longer want to put my fist through a wall.

I think the boyfriend and I are going to make corned beef and cabbage this weekend. Yum. And I'll wear green. Green goes well with my red hair and a color I love, so yeah. That's pretty easy. No drunken parties like the college days, I think I'm 29 going on 65, I swear.

I am wearing green, though not because I'm Irish (I am actually mostly Scottish on my dad's side). It's simply the "around the house" t-shirt I picked randomly for this week. I did not wear green to work, because our work uniforms are red polos. I am also a pagan, and here I am, despite your best efforts to drive me away. :D

I might maybe have an idea for an entry, based on last night's fun and games at work, but the interpretation of the topic is possibly a bit too far off the beaten path.

And in other news, one of my coworkers on the service desk (where I was not scheduled today--I was at self-checkout) decided to play matchmaker today for us poor single folk, and the guy she decided would be best suited for me? The guy I've only recently admitted to myself I do, in fact, have a stupidly ridiculous crush on, who is ten years younger than me if he's a day. I couldn't get out of that place fast enough.

While the students all did savasana at the end of the Yoga for Actors workshop, I picked my way through a sea of inert bodies on the ballroom floor to get to the light switches. I felt like Scarlett O'Hara walking through all the dead soldiers laid out by the train station.

Every muscle in my body hurts from demonstrating Partner Acrobatics over and over...if anyone needs me, I'll be over here...curled around the ibuprofen bottle.

I gave up fighting for lent one year and never quit got back into the swing of things.
