It was another busy day in Idol.

To clarify, anyone can link their entry there. It's not just a contestant thing, it's not just a community thing. I just thought it was a good use of Idol space to use our higher profile to send some extra good will out there. Hopefully people participate in it, and encourage their friends to do the same.

The polls are slow so far and it's definitely making me nervous, especially with 5 people from each tribe going home this week! Gary, if you wanted to shake us up... I'm pretty sure it's working. ;-p

It doesn't help that I did something kind of "different" this week, so I'm already inherently a bit nervous.

I have not had a chance to read any entries at all yet because I had a sick baby napping on me this morning when I would have normally had an hour of reading time. Poor thing. Will get to it tonight, if he actually sleeps. With a community-only poll, I really want to read all of the entries.

I'm really nervous too. I really liked my entry, it made me very happy and I had fun... And I'm not getting very much feedback and the polls are slow... So now I'm getting nervous and wondering about it :/

How am I doing? I'm trying to not slip into my grumpy self... But I'm tired and work is ridiculous as usual. I'm overwhelmed beyond belief today. But what else is new?

They brought in my favorite strawberry doughnuts to work. I told Java on Sunday that I'd never be able to eat doughnuts again after getting sick from eating too many that day... I told him that was a lie and the Universe is already testing me today. Dang baked goods addiction.

First green room post as a part of the main game! Hi peeps! :)

I will have time to read the main game entries this week, I think. Looking forward to it. :)

A fan of my Sims work asked me if I had any advice for noob Sims writers, and I thought I'd share it with my Idol writer peeps as well.

I guess, really – I’d just say to not be afraid, and to be open. I remember seeing that back when I was more into the Sims community – people apologizing for what they had written, people talking about being scared of writing something. If you really want to write something meaningful and good, you have to just do it and not be afraid and not apologize for it. Just go wherever the game and your imagination takes you, and if it does scare you then that means you’re on to something, and you should push through the fear and do it, because it’ll be great.

Eh. Could be better, could be worse. Was just getting my voice back, but in the past two days I've had to make ten billion calls it feels like, and had multiple appointments to speak at, and so my throat is closing back up. I think it's rebelled at being abused so much. :( On top of that, I have no more ice cream. Life stinks.

I, like Gary, don't have any funds to offer at this time, but I do have love. I did not know the gentlemen who lost his wife, but reading his entries on the subject cut right to my heart.

It's amazing how a stranger can share something, such a deep wound and it cuts right to you, and feels as if it ties you together. That's the human experience I suppose. Love, pain, joy, they all ties us together.

As said, the least I could offer was my words in the Idol gives back thread, and it wasn't perfectly timed. I have some ultra important women in my life, My mother, my sick Grandmother, my amazing girlfriend, a friend so close she's a second mother...I don't know where I'd be without them. I don't want to think of a situation where one of us wasn't here...and they didn't end up knowing that.

Look all around us. We keep each other going, we learn and grow from one another...whether we're loved ones or strangers. Think about that. Care for one another.

And if we're having a get together, bring cheesy snacks. Those are the two lessons I want to share today.

Also, I am very, very happy with my story and I hope folks have a chance to check it out. And I'm enjoying reading the other entries. It's definitely A-game time.

I'm seeing a lot of comments and some entries (haven't read them all yet) that are saying/showing that people tried new things this week. This makes me SUPER excited!! Outside of the box (whatever your box normally is) always piques my interest! I think that's especially important in a community only vote!

So, I posted this to my Facebook and I'll repost it here: Why is it that the desire for a Starbucks is inversely proportional to the amount of time one has to go fetch it? It seems like when I really NEED a Starbucks, I have no time in the morning to go get one; yet today, when I didn't really NEED one, I had PLENTY of extra time in which I could have gone and gotten one. What gives? *sigh*

How am I doing? I got only about 5 hours of sleep. I fell asleep easily enough, but my body just refused to sleep more than that and woke me up being all "neener neener you can't stop me."

The coffee I'm drinking is helping. I think I may need some coffee icons, as I don't have any but certainly do <3 my coffee.

I was cooking with headphones on last night and my roommate came into the kitchen and said hello and I screamed. Like really top of my lungs screamed in genuine terror, if he had been holding and ax and saying I want to chop you, I don't think I could have been more scared. I might be a bit too tightly wound.

The spousebeast switched his days off this week, so he's been with me all day, for which I am even *more* thankful than usual. It's been quiet. Lots of cuddling, lots of reading, lots of cooking comfort foods, lots of just being.

I tried to get my reading finished today, but LJ decided it just didn't want to cooperate. There's always tomorrow.

Today sucked...not the normal sucked but the sucked like donkey nuts sucked. Seems the work powers that be have a thing for sending me to fix ClusterF*&()...once again I get to be a superhero sans cape. On a better note I did manage to keep from burning down the hotel last night. I caught the box lid on the stove burner in mid flame...go me!

I'm here late - I did see the Green Room when I was up ALL NIGHT (or at least that's what it felt like) with a feverish child, but I was just too exahusted to comment then... plus I didn't want her to get any more distracted than she already was!

I'm doing OK today. A little exhausted and therefore kind of over-emotional (my present 'condition' probably doesn't help) but there is soup and cake and lots of tea so things are pretty fine, really.

I made a fruit cake that I baked near midnight last night.

Also apple pie, so why did I make this when we need to lose weight?

Toddled off to an art group, talked a blue streak; five of us had coffee and lunch as we worked.
Then to the library, read the local paper( for the tapes that go to blind and isolated residents)

Cleaned out cat litter, oh fun...

Assembled meal then got used as a bed by cat. Trying to find me time to read entries now....

As a day, well I give it 6/10.
