Our hearts go out to former Idol contestant and long time supporter popfiend on his devastating loss. I hope that everyone's thoughts and prayers are with him and his.

If I actually manage to get my entry finished, it's going to be a miracle. My baby is sick and I'm overloaded with work and I have to drive out to deal with other crappy business on my lunch break and wahhh,

We made it through the storms fine but one of my friends from college lost her home and her car. The only one in her family injured though was one dog who had to have surgery on her leg. So it's good that the people are ok and no one (even pets) died but it's very sad how much she lost.

Two other friends have damaged roofs but overall, no one I knew was even injured so we made it.

After last April, it is odd to have so much bad weather again.

I'm glad no one was injured. Coming from the Midwest, I know what these storms are capable of. I worry about my family a lot during storm season. They seemed to have missed most of the storms. I hope it stays that way.

I'm sorry for your friend who lost her house though. It's so sad :(

And LJ ate my comment. What a jerk. I had lots to say too. I won't repeat it all because I don't have time. I need to head out. Here's a brief summary:

I'm up extra early because I have to be in San Diego this morning. I slept horribly thanks to being sick to my stomach and weird dreams, not to mention an anxiety attack that lasted all night. A FB/LJ friend of mine posted some devastating news that really shook me up. So no sleep for me.

I'd down here and so far, all my friends and loved ones - some of whom were in the direct projected path - made it out okay. One friend had the tornado turn down the corner and blasted through a block away from her house. eeeeek

My weekend was nice, even if I didn't get around to all the social stuff on LJ that I wanted to do.

I got a box of 120 crayons and two coloring books! Yeah, I'm 31, so what?

I spent a lot of time on someone's Tumblr with pictures of beautiful antique dresses, and I googled some of their references and learned some stuff about history and fashion. I also looked around Etsy and found some cool stuff - including a designer who'd created a dress for a steampunk convention that included a small bar full of drinks under the bustle. She'd also made a steampunk absinthe fairy dress, complete with mechanical wings that flapped and lit up.

Gotta go do work stuff now!

Also I know my SCI entry isn't my best work, because Thursday night was the only time I had to work on it so I had to pull it out in just a couple of hours. But oh well - worst comes to worst and I get voted out, I plan to still home game and hang out with you guys and maybe do another major serial Sims story.

I intend to have my own post up later today. Then again, I intended to write it this weekend. It's not so much that time got away from me; for whatever reason I just didn't want to sit down and type. I still don't... but I'm going to force myself to get it done.

Admittedly, I've been feeling lethargic all weekend. I still do. I'm going to have a nap now -- no more than an hour. Then I'll set to typing.

The weather here was pretty bad (not HORRIBLE though) this weekend. My kids were really angry with me for not letting them play out back, but it would have been too dangerous. All of the lawn furniture, including a really heavy porch swing, are spewed all over the place. I'm just glad and amazed that none of the trees snapped in half, though I haven't been to the back of the property, so there still might be some damage to clean up.

Hooray for me.

I went along for amoral support with a friend who was wedding dress shopping yesterday. She is very nervous and feels pressure to be more organized. I planned my whole wedding in two months and didn't worry about it at all; all my efforts were going into emigrating immediately after! I'm so laid-back I must be the best or worst person to take along for wedding things. I do have a lot of sympathy for how annoying her mom's being; mine was the same way. Made me really jealous though; she will look beautiful and I had a wedding dress I loathed and detest to this day, which is apparently a tragedy.

Then I went to see a movie! I love going to the movies. The Woman in Black was one of the best horror movies I'd ever seen.

I've been feeling off for the last three days, but I haven't felt bad, if that makes any sense. I have a headache that mutates from meh to omfg cut my head off, and every once in awhile I can hear my heartbeat so loud it's like an alien baby is going to burst from me.

(I've taken everything I can think of, drunk enough water to refloat the Titanic, napped until it was bedtime, and just took a long hot shower. I suppose I'll have to find some sort of free clinic somewhere, because ugh.)

That said, I have my entry written, I'm rereading it now if anyone else would like to join in and make sure it's ok

Today is just a highly emotional day and I still have to churn out an entry for this week and I really just don't WANT to bill out Friday's shipments and you know, this report can just go fornicate itself.

However, the weekend was somewhat successful. I went through my (massive) yarn stash and wound all of the leftovers into neat little balls. Then yesterday, I took my warlock out to dig stuff up because each artifact is 19K XP. So she leveled up. Archaeology is so awesome. (That'd be Warcrack stuff. Just to clarify.) And last night was new Full Metal Jousting. If I were single...

It's odd, while so many of you have been struggling with bad weather, it's been lovely here. Large parts of my weekend were spent in the back yard with the dogs, and adding plants back there.

My weekend was good - we left KY before the storms hit, as we were driving to DC. But our house is still in one piece, so that's good. In addition to getting to hang out with spydielives, I finally got to meet the lovely chite! It was a grand weekend, and we got back home late yesterday evening, just before the 5" of snowfall hit, LOL.

Also, despite being all "Waaah, I wanna use a bye, but I don't wanna use a bye, but... but..." I decided to write on the damn topic anyway, because it was just too irresistible, LOL. So I'm all posted, and I still have two pristine Byes to hang on my wall!

As far as dear popfiend, the news just about knocked my socks off. *sadface*

The weather here was gorgeous (but I consider lots of snow and cold to be gorgeous, so take that into consideration).

I had a nice weekend - I ran a game for three friends in the long standing roleplaying campaign we have going on Saturday, and on Sunday we had a LAN party and also played a bunch of board games. Unfortunately, last night I had a resurgence of the yuck and spent the night throwing up and feeling miserable. I really, really hope this goes away forever and ever soon. I don't like it.

My heart is aching for popfiend. If there are words, I don't have them.

Up here in central Indiana, we're OK, but we had a light coat of snow on the ground and forecast of 60F tomorrow so weather is still volatile. The main damage in this state was down in the counties along the Ohio River, and it was a LOT -- towns pretty much wiped off the map. So if you have it in your heart and bank account, please give thru the Red Cross. Thanx!

Weird weather weekend here. Saturday was ok out, nice in the sun and yesterday was cold. And today it's even colder.

This weekend was a lot of baking for Purim because Purim is only 2 days away and I can't not bake for it!

I have an interview on Wed that I haven't told anyone outside of LJ, DH and my best friend about that I am super nervous about. I need to find away to get my mind off of it!

Copying what I said in my LJ, as I don't think I could put it better then this: My heart goes out to popfiend. By now I am pretty sure that most of his friends if not all know what happened to him yesterday. I'm not as close with him as I know a lot of you are, but it was clear to me just how much he and Lisa loved each other and the fact that he lost her is something that I don't think we will ever understand why. I'm going to echo mac_arthur_park who said it best, hold someone you love just a little bit tighter today.

That last bit rings true to how I feel. It makes you realize how easily someone can be ripped out of your life. Make sure they know that they're loved.

I'm not super close to him, but he obviously loved his wife very much. I can't imagine how hard this must be.
