Sorry for the delay in posting the Green Room today. For the last couple of days, in 'Merica we've been dealing with the illness of one of our chief residents. She's been to the vet now and seems to be on the upswing.

But that meant that I couldn't get things posted as early today as I wanted to - I blame you. Not the general "you", you specifically!

Fortunately, my landlords also run a pet grooming place, so they were understanding that a good chunk of what I set aside to pay them ended up going to the vet.

I've been reading the SCI entries while waiting for the GR to distract me. Since I'm at work, it's one entry an hour or so (I need breaks), but I have to say... There is some GOOD stuff this week. I'm not finished with the reading, though I would highly suggest checking them out. I'll have a rec list this week if I have anything to say about it!

I'm also very excited about my entry this week! It's about halfway written, I just need to finish and get it beta'd. It could be my favorite nonfiction entry to date. We will see how it goes!

Hi Green Room.

I don't get to pop in much these days, but I think of you guys. Baby is growing at a furious pace and taking up most of my time. When I'm not on parenting duty, I'm trying to make pretty things to sell online. And now that I noticed how sad my bank balance is, I probably need to double my efforts to sell stuff... blah.

Or I could just watch more Buffy and escape my stressful reality.

I was up all night with a terrible stomach ache and fever. I feel slightly less terrible now, but man, I wish I could nap today. In good news, we're getting a lovely snowstorm here, and I'm all prepared to snuggle up and have hot chocolate (if the tummy will allow it), pet the kitties, and enjoy the warm inside while it gets gross outside.

Somewhat upset about forgetting to post a SCI entry, but at the same time I had no idea what I wanted to do for it so chances are I would have thrown something together quickly and gotten eliminated.

Have an internship interview next week that I really want, another internship still in the works that I should hear back by next week and tons of school related stuff going on. O and a move.

I think I've finally mastered lighting fires. Yay for competence and country living! Also I went for a sleigh ride yesterday, in an actual sleigh pulled by an actual horse wearing actual jingle bells. She wasn't dashing, just trotting, though that was fast enough really.

I've been on a sleigh ride... Around a hotel parking lot. That's about it. Every Christmas, the local hotel used to bring in a sleigh with a real horse for us. I'd love to do it for real!

Sorry, it really is my fault. I knew I shouldn't have stayed on the phone with the other shop so long, but it was just so quiet and boring up here, you know? And I did get all of those donuts this morning and was on a sugar rush. Totally my fault.

In response to my entry for last week, I've decided that one of my ~goals~ this year is going to be getting the company newsletter back up and running by the mid- to late summer. I have a template. I have Ideas. I just need the green light. And, you know, information to put in there.

I know nothing about the suitcase in the hall - mine is in the trunk of the car, as we are currently driving up to Virginia to help celebrate Spydielives's birthday as well as that of her hubby! Woot! Our current ETA is around 9:00 pm.

Still debating entry ideas vs using a bye... I feel like it would be wasteful to not have used at least ONE bye while I still could.. *ponder*

We have been selling stuff on ebay and it is doing quite well. Yay. That means my son might be able to do swimming lessons this year!!

The only downside is I have to run down to the post office which is a bit of a hassle :/ But it's less hassle to have more money, so I shouldn't complain.

S is going for his first unsupervised (by me) playdate today. I'm leaving him at a friend's place just after lunch and will pick him up late afternoon. HOW COOL IS THAT?! I love this idea of farming out our children. Yay for them getting older and more independent!!
