Green Room - Week 10 - Day 7

You are sitting in a restaurant, having a nice meal. Hopefully, some good conversation as well.

There is a crashing noise and everyone in the place turns to see the server who dropped something that shattered against the floor, and your concentration.

You heard something, you look up to see what's going on. Maybe you watch for a bit, trying to figure out what happened. Heck, maybe you saw the whole thing go down.

Or maybe you go back to your meal, and to your conversation, once you realize that it wasn't anything major.

Or you slow down to see just how bad the accident was, saying to yourself maybe it was someone you know. . . or you let yourself to by it, wishing them the best and hoping that the professionals on the scene are able to help them.

Maybe someone yells "Fire" in a crowded chat room. You look around, trying to find it, before realizing "Oh yeah, I'm on the internet!"

Because that gets your attention right away. Something with noise and a dramatic flair to it. The red sports car of every day life.

You look at them, you take them in. Why? I don't know. Maybe it makes folks feel better about their own lot. Maybe it makes them feel alive, or real, or whatever the latest thing to feel is these days!

But while you are doing that, there's a good meal on the table in front of you, and plenty of other servers who aren't dropping things.

There are people ahead of you driving just fine, and so are the ones behind you - although they really wish you wouldn't gawk, they have places to go after all.

There are 99 other things that have been said in that chatroom, and some of them were quite complimentary.

Good evening greenroom, or good morning I should say! It's a bit empty in here, as I should hope it would be at this time! It is 5.45am in the UK now and I've been up all night. Unfortunately, not reading loads of entries (I read some), and, in one sense, not being very productive either. Might be time to go get some sleep!

I am nowhere near finished reading, but some favorites so far? sonophax, whipchick, malinaldarose, and theafaye. I would like to give a shout out to two friends who I think wrote really good entries and should be getting more attention, alien_infinity who writes such realistic fiction with a flair, and michikatinski who really knows how to write the emotional stuff well. Both are awesome people I am happy to know too. Of course I thought my sweetie's entry was powerful and well written, I know how hard it was for him to write and how much this affects him too. So check out java_fiend too... I love my freckled half Asian boy as he is, I'm glad he's working on letting some of these demons out.

Okay, I need to add sneakishfrog to that list. I just read her entry and I could really relate to it!

I am more than happy to enjoy the good stuff in front of me and overlook the petty stuff. I trust management has everything under control ;)

I'm here. S just tried to lift the baby onto T's bed, and dropped her on the floor :( She's fine, thank goodness. Good thing babies bounce (to a small degree).

I'm so sleepy. It's that time of afternoon (it's around 2pm here) and I can't stomach tea at the moment. Can you imagine?!! NO TEA!! I might have a slice of rye bread, toasted, with blackcurrant jam, instead.

I am really failing at this whole LJ commenting thing. Here, on LJI entries, on friends' entries, on my own entries. I blame two things: (1) Tennis (the Australian Open is on ALL DAY [pretty much] so of course I must watch it), and (2) The A Song of Ice and Fire series (I'm trying to get through it as quickly as I can, but it's so long and involved).

I still need to get through three tribes. I'm really hoping I can do it *fingers crossed*

After all the labs and tests so far, the specialists agree...

it was the stone.

Apparently, it was quite far on its way to being passed on its own, except that at 8mm, when it got stuck, it was a very stuck cork. The general consensus is the weight will come off as quickly as it went on with supervised exercise and conditioning. We are treating the only new thing that we are sure of; everything else seems to be an anomaly.

I am already climbing stairs again. I've lost three pounds.

But the dietary restrictions to prevent another stone from forming... suck.

Thank you, everyone, for your expressed concerns the last few weeks. Its meant a great deal to me.

Hmm, I do not drive.
For some reason the government types are of the opinion that those of us who have seazers that can be ( and oftain are) triggered by flashy lights should not be behind the wheel of a vehichle.
As it is technicaly illeagle for me to have a drivers licance and I have not the cash flow for a car I am a pedestrean.

Still lurking about here, despite byeing out. :) Baby continues to be adorable, if challenging at times. Now that I don't have writing deadlines, I'm spending more time working on crafty things, some of which I'm even putting up on Etsy. I'm a bit pessimistic about the prospects of anything actually selling... but figured it's worth a shot. Being a stay-at-home mom doesn't pay very well.

In a strange mood this morning. Back in 1999 I dated this goofy guy who was in remission after a crappy battle with cancer. We made big plans, broke up, moved to Prague together, drifted apart and got back into contact via Facebag. Found out this morning that he has nodules on his brain, which could be more cancer. But I really hope it isn't.

As for standout entries: my girl zeitgeistic wrote some of the best damned poetry I've seen around these parts. And shoot, I didn't know she wrote poetry!

Even though yesterday at work went "okay", I had a horrible dream that it all went to Hell. So now I'm seriously dreading go in and paranoid. Seriously brain? Why must you do this? I know it was just a dream, but dangit, it was so realistic! I woke up thinking it was true even and felt like crap... Even now as I know it's a dream, I just feel blah about today.
