Hopefully, everyone remembers that the deadline for the new topic is tonight. Every time I see a lot of folks still not in, I get nervous. But I'm sure we will see people pulling it out!

Until then, I guess that just means a little more attention for those who already have their entries in!

I've seen a couple comments (although oddly enough, none of them were actually to me) about people wondering how they did in the Contestant Only vote, and about realizing vote totals.

Of course, there's no way I will be showing the actual numbers. I'm pretty sure that the people who advocate that haven't actually realized that unlike normal voting, this is a known sample, where you know every single potential voter personally. So, if you had 20 votes, you could actually start working it out who those 20 were. Which kind of defeats the purpose of a blind vote.

However, since we have done this in previous seasons, and a few veterans asked about it - if you send me an email to clauderainsrm@gmail.com, I will tell you how you did, in terms of "it was close/you were safe/you were very safe".

That always seems to be go over much better than the alternative! :)

I have a post written up I was going to have him read to see if I should submit it instead of my bye, but I am a bit nervous and feel like I am running out of time... So I may just use my first bye and not stress.

The weekend was great, I really wish it didn't fly by so fast. After last week at work, I am not looking forward to the week at all. I need a new job.

After talking to java_fiend, I think I might consider a really big career change - to a personal trainer. Real estate development to personal trainer? WTF? But I love nutrition and fitness (even if I have been slacking lately thanks to no time), I am fascinated with health and whatnot... It might be a good fit and could be something that makes me very happy. I am not a conventional office type of gal. That being said, writing is where my heart is at... So maybe I can work on that too.

A lot of thinking has been going on around these parts... I need a change. But overall, a wonderful weekend as always :)

Wow, that *is* a very different career! But an awesome one. If it's what interests you, and you can see yourself happy doing it, then go for it. It's probably something that would be very flexible, too, so you'd have time to work on your writing.

I was having a lot of difficulty with my entry this week. I was dragging my feet in terms of actually getting it written, and the words just weren't coming to me the way I wanted them to. Turns out, that was a sign that what I had started writing was not the "right" thing to write for this week, and so I went with another idea that came to me very suddenly and randomly, and which I was able to write with ease. It's fascinating how the subconscious works, huh? :D

Oh man, I will definitely be sending you an email 'cos because I cannot resist knowing such things!

Favourite part of the weekend: going out for yum cha (or dim sum, I think you Americans call it) with my parents, sister and brother-in-law. Maaaaaan, did I make a pig of myself or what!

I have struggled and started three or four different ideas... and still? Nothing. I finished a piece that Java might look over before bed to see if I should consider it. I am just struggling with liking what I am writing... I had a fiction idea that I started several times, and just couldn't make work. That makes me sad.

Sadly another weekend is drawing to an end. *le sigh*. The good news is that it was another wonderful weekend with a very special girl. And my car saga has come to a happy resolution. Finally. Thank the gods. And just a word of advice for you all... Don't play the game Headbanz while you're half asleep. You may say some very strange stuff lol.

Not looking forward to getting up before the rooster tomorrow. But ya gotta pay the bills, right? And there is a massive house-burger sitting in my gut like a brick at the current moment. Ugh.

My entry is in the works and heading in a (hopefully) good direction. So long as i have a relatively mellow day at the office tomorrow so i can finish it off.

First full day of vacation! SO is leaving on a business trip later this morning...oh, in about :looks at clock: 6 hours? Which means we have to be up in 4 hours so I can drive him to the airport in plenty of time to go through the TSA checkpoint?

I am really struggling with this no computer on weekend things. Why? you ask - because that is when the topics get posted :-/ So I read the topic today, am frantically working on a story now that my work day is over... and well, you get the picture!

stil, I almost wrote a work based one (there are numerous ways to work "sticks and stones" into soil science ^_^ but I decided to stick with fiction - as that was my personal challenge :-)

I had absolutely no idea what to write this week, till it suddenly hit me today out of the blue. And now it's posted, so I can finally start reading. I hate reading entries before I've written mine.

I had a great weekend, and still one more day to go! (State employees here get MLK Day off) No plans other than reading Idol - I'll probably do something boring like laundry.

It's after 1am where I am, and I'm still awake! I could potentially crash any minute now, but I currently feel wide awake. Such is life.

I have the fiance for another full day because it's MLK Day and schools are closed, so he doesn't have to drive a school bus, but then Tuesday, it's back to only seeing him when he comes home from work. ::pout::

I really don't think I want to know how I went in that poll ;D I'd like to say it's because I feel confident in my place within the Idol ranks, but really, it's just that if I found out I was close to the bottom, it would really shake me and I'd lose faith :) So I'll just stick with not knowing!

It's been a busy day today and I still have to get to the post office. Children and animals kept waking me up from 4 a.m. until around 5.45, when I just gave up and decided to give up on the sleep! So I'm looking forward to an early night... that's still hours away, though, unfortunately!

Till then, I'm keeping on top of reading the entries :)

The best part of my weekend - well, I had two.

I had a friend come to visit. Being as I live in the arse-end of Kansas [okay, largest city, but it's the arse-end as far as the distance to most of my good friends], my friends don't come to visit often. We hung out, went thrift store shopping [and came out with some serious goodness!] and did sewing/costuming stuff. I'm teaching her how to sew using a pattern - she's already got the basics down. It was a LOT of fun and something I've really needed.

The other thing was that my daughter gave up something she loves, that only happens once a year, to try something new - and she LOVED it!! She's going to participate with one of the Lego Mindstorms competitions as part of a Girl Scout group and she went to her first meeting on Saturday. She had a great time, really enjoyed what she did, and felt like she really contributed. YAY for STEM activities for girls!!!

Also, one thing mostly bad but kind of good - for those of you that have read my entry - the students at Jarrod's school have been stepping up and posting anti-bullying videos and "I have been bullied" confessionals on YouTube. The locals news station in Flushing is following the story closely. I don't think the school is going to get away with the "we don't have a bullying problem" crap. The memorial service was today and my heart is breaking for Jarrod's family - but I am SO proud of his mother and the attention she's calling to the problem in the school, and for not giving up even in her grief!

Yay for happy fun times with friends! And that sounds awesome about your daughter - I don't know what Lego Mindstorms are (yet - I'll go google) but it sounds really creative and awesome.

My favorite part of the weekend was sitting down in my living room yesterday and seeing that the walls were green. My least favorite part was laboriously making them so...and I have to do a second coat today. (But after five years of first having no walls at all, then two years of bare drywall, damn, it looks good!)
