"Special Powers"

Now we have the eagerly awaited "Special Powers" post.

Those familiar with Idol know of the twists and turns that pop into the game, making things a "little more interesting" at times. This season is no different.

I said we were entering Phase 2 once we were under 200 contestants, and here we are! ;)

I'll admit, I had only expected to hand out a a few of these, to the contestants who were at next to last position in their respective tribes, but the voters had other plans. They ended up giving me a hell of a lot more! Which should make things fun! Or maybe just "fun"!!

In just about every season of Idol there has been an "immunity" power. Each season they have worked a little bit differently, to keep you on your toes.

This season, I'm not even bothering with your toes - I'm taking you out at the kneecaps!

This is what I like to call a 'BOUNCING IMMUNITY".

Old immunity worked where someone would get it, and they would hold onto it until they needed it. One of the updated versions of immunity was that you couldn't use it for yourself, you had to give it away.

This is closer to the latter version. You HAVE to give it away. You can not use it on yourself.

But unlike in the past, you CAN NOT hold onto it. You have to use it every round. You will email your selection (it can be any current contestant from any tribe, not just your own) to me at clauderainsrm@gmail.com at least one hour before the poll deadline to let me know your choice of who to save.

Bouncing immunities can not be used to save the same person during the course of their existence, and they will cease to be a part of the competition when we hit the Top 100, or if all of the remaining contestants have had immunity. Whichever comes first!!

You can, if you wish, also decide not to use it. If I do not hear from you by that time - or if I hear from you saying that you will not be using it, that particular immunity vanishes from existence.

As I said, the voters ended up giving me quite a few people! So the contestants who have been selected to assign the first round of Bouncing Immunities are:

Does that include someone else on the list? Ex: if someone chooses to save someone else from the list, do they then get the power to give immunity to someone else the following week? Or will every week the people closest to elimination receive the power to gift immunity to someone else?

They are only immune for the week that they are selected. Then they select someone else for following week.

This goes on until the Top 100, or until everyone remaining has had the bouncing immunity, whichever comes first!
