I know man, that Russian election! How intriguing!

I like the idea one person had on the LJ FB page. He said to make a us-livejournal, separate set of servers, then only one set will go down when the DDoS attacks happen. Might be something they could look into (if they haven't already of course).

I haven't started reading yet! That was going to happen this morning which didn't because I couldn't read anything! And right now I need to get a script to a classmate because I promised it to her yesterday. Heh..

Is it considered poor form to ask for concrit after voting is going on already? My post was a big departure from my usual and it's doing pretty dismally in the polls. So I'm just looking for people to tell me how I could've done better or if my "voice" or word notice offended them, etc.

I don't know the ettiquette involved, but I'd think you could ask for concrit any time. Concrit is always good and always helpful! I don't see why voting should get in the way of learning and refining.

It's Friday, and a light day for my workload. I'm considering maybe sneaking in a bit of my own writing later on. Looking forward to the weekend. This is the weekend where our whole big group of friends gets together and does the white elephant gift exchange *G*

But I did find some very nice New Year's Resolutions for your cat, so it all balances out in the end.

I see you know me so well, too, Claude. I do vote for my tribe first. And I did see that there were some lovely new people in my tribe. But I don't think there was nobody I hadn't read before, because I did get through everyone the first couple of votes. However, there were one or two people I hadn't read lately, either because they were Byes (possible) or because I am a slackass reader (more likely than not).

Then again, I've been better about that this season.

But it also prevented me from slacking at work by reading entries! Dang hackers. I may start adding all those Russians back that keep adding me so I could ruin their minds with talk of democracy. That'll show those hackers.

Or maybe not. Maybe I'll just keep filling ours meme's and posting pictures of myself like most people like to do :P Though I do have some cute photos and a video of Annabelle I'd rather post... That won't offend those hackers, will it? Unlike politics, everyone likes cute Great Danes, right?

My fiance broke up with me Monday. I'm doing OK and I know it was for the best, but some times during the day hurt a lot more than others.

I figured with the large number of people here in LJI, someone has got to have some experience with this sort of thing. Any healing tips? I'm feeling really raw. :(

Ooof, breakups are rough. The best I can really say is allow yourself to feel whatever you feel about it - when my ex broke things off with me it was horrible in part because I let people tell me that I had no right to expect from him the things I did since we were no longer dating. (Obviously, you should exercise some judgment in what you allow those feelings to push you to do, but if you feel like being angry, just let yourself be goddamned angry, and forgive when you're ready to forgive and not a moment sooner.)

Hmmmmm....
It seems like barely a month since we were contemplating a move to New Orleans for Jos's job. (didn't happen, partially because of vehicle issues, partially money...) this would probably have meant me quitting my job here, but the amount he would have been paid would have made up for it.
Since then, he has been moving his distribution business forward more.

Now, it looks like I will be offered a job in St. Louis, with my current company. This is less than 3 hours from my family (southern Illinois). And significantly closer to his (Pennsylvania, so only half the country, rather than the whole...) the job hasn't officially been posted yet, but when I was talking to Hank about the possibility earlier this year, it didn't sound like the pay would be much different than current.
New job would be significantly more challenging than current, and more interesting. (current is 90% data entry and verification).

Jos would basically have to restart his business out there, without his current knowledge of area.

My first thought is for us to live separately for awhile. My second thought is to decline the job. The second thought causes me more anxiety, nervousness, than the first.
Almost feel like something is calling me to be closer to family.

And Phoenix has never particularly felt like home... Felt like living in exile for the last few years...

I was going to get some reading done this morning, because I have around the house stuff and an errand or two this afternoon, but that didn't work out so well.

Oh well. But I'm making pie today! A pumpkin pie, out of a fresh pumpkin that I roasted this morning. I bought the pumpkin a while ago, but events conspired to keep me from my pie making for several weeks. Good thing squash keep for a darn long time.

In other news, we had a Waffle breakfast here at work this morning (just my team, not the whole building) so that was cool! One co-worker and I each brought in our waffle irons (hers was the thick Belgian type, mine was the thinner sort) and our supervisor made some bacon, too!

I'm looking forward to the weekend, and getting to finish reading & voting in my tribe tonight, and the other tribes as time allows. I think I've got most of my Christmas shopping done, just a few stocking-stuffer items and something for our very close friends yet to go.

I'm happy because my apartment got cleaned today and not by me. My meds just got delivered. I had a good phone conversation with a friend. And now I'm studying mental disorders for school. It's been a good day.

I also got my keurig coffee machine up and running again.

I do not have any cats. I'm deprived.
I got up and started hurding children which many here would agree is a lot harder then hurding cats.
Was trying to pick up at the same time.
Had to pause while doing this to do a little praying - porcilin god needed apeasing.
Finished rounding up children - I have a particularly stuborn one.
Tried to connect to lj.
rested
and right now I'm listining to my 11 yr old practice her violin ( she is a first year.
