The Idol elves have been busy decorating to celebrate the new month.

Human skulls on pikes is “Christmas”y – right?

Maybe we can put one on top of the tree, both as celebration and warning. Which is really all the same thing these days.

Speaking of warnings – the deadline to get in your entries is tonight. http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/502415.html

It’s looking pretty scary right now. When we started, there were over 50 contestants who didn’t have a bye left, which put them in danger of leaving us. The last time I checked, that number was down into the 30s of folks who were on the verge this week. Even if we end up with “less than half” – that’s still going to be a blow that will take us down to really close to the 200 contestant mark.

With another week of tribal shifts, this could be major in how this season ends up playing out. Then again, every week in Idol is major toward that goal. But given that “200” will mark the start of “Phase 2”, when things start getting interesting. . . well, I guess people had better start securing their seatbelts!

If we got rid of the insane people... I don't want to think about that! What a horrible twist that would be.

And so boring, too.

That's my problem too. But I have (finally) picked one, and am working on it.

(Except now I'm in the Green Room and a minute ago I was in the Nano forum.)

I had a feeling there'd be another tribe shift...that tribe full of byes was interesting, but not so good for the competition. Very curious as to what phase 2 might be.

(But skulls on pikes? Not scary. Glitter skulls on pikes? FAAAAABULOUS!)

I know, isn't it? It's almost worst than missing a week at work (which Evil One is freaking out because my boss gave me permission to take almost two weeks vacation for Christmas, so trust me, I get that part!)

It is crazy and so far, a lot of fun! I've hardly had any time to watch though :/ stupid RL getting in the way again!

Yes! and if you haven't tried natural dyes such as onion skins or beets, you must! The bone takes the dyes beautifully creating subtle yet rich hues.

I'm with Kizzy. I'd rather read the one you like best.

Whatta you mean Gary? Things weren't interesting yet?

My entry is in! I still have a bye left, but there was no way I was using it this week. I wound up posting a story which I never intended to use, but every time I sat down to write THIS story insisted that I write it. Hopefully the readers will enjoy it.

I had a round of depositions this morning, so I have lots of reports to write up this afternoon. Plus, my new dishwasher is supposed to be delivered, which means I get to stay home for the rest of the day (woohoo!)

I need to wander down to the fridge for some leftovers first though. I'm starving!

I'm pretty sure that bye outs are usually very heavy in the first few weeks. I've only been competing for three seasons though. It seems like some people join the competition without knowing exactly how much time they'll need to devote to writing entries and then wind up missing deadlines or deliberately dropping. The bye outs slow down a lot once we get to the end of the year though.

I'm glad to have gotten my post done last night. I still feel that I could have done a little better, but I think (hope) I portrayed the excitement and the food (oh god the crepes!)

I cannot wait until the spring when I get to go back to France.

In other news, time to try to convince the husband we can splurge a little on christmas lights and maybe a (tiny, fake) tree.

Probably both! I have to prod the hubby into getting his entry in, because he's out of byes already. I doubt he'll get to it until tonight though since he's at work.

Love the userpic btw!

You East coasters have that option. For me, I'm usually still at work or driving home when the deadline hits! I pretty much have to do it the night before or take a bye.
