Maybe we can put one on top of the tree, both as celebration and warning. Which is really all the same thing these days.

It’s looking pretty scary right now. When we started, there were over 50 contestants who didn’t have a bye left, which put them in danger of leaving us. The last time I checked, that number was down into the 30s of folks who were on the verge this week. Even if we end up with “less than half” – that’s still going to be a blow that will take us down to really close to the 200 contestant mark.

With another week of tribal shifts, this could be major in how this season ends up playing out. Then again, every week in Idol is major toward that goal. But given that “200” will mark the start of “Phase 2”, when things start getting interesting. . . well, I guess people had better start securing their seatbelts!

Another tribal shift?!? Man Gary, I was just getting comfortable. What will it be this week? Same thing? Maybe... Since you know we wouldn't expect that? Or will byes factor in as guessed last week? Something else? I guess we will find out...

I beat my boss into work today for the first time in a month or two. I used to come in at 7-7:15 every day, but the snooze button has been too tempting lately. I slept in really late today too, but my hair cooperated in getting pulled back (I have very thick hair so even pulling it back is a challenge), I found an outfit I could assemble quickly, I didn't have to walk Annabelle since she's spending the day at daycamp.... The stars aligned I guess.

I just wish it was Friday afternoon already :/

Anyway. Hi, Green Room! I'm on a bit of a high because I won NaNo yesterday (albeit through dubious methods... let's just say my characters had some discussions about what I was going to have for tea, how I feel about my dad's farm selling, and also all the words to every song I've ever learnt by heart) and I'm so glad November's over and I can concentrate on devoting my life to Idol decorating the Christmas tree.

I'm trying to make up for my comment laziness over the past month by reading and commenting as much as I can but either there's still DDoS attacks or my browser is just being silly, because the site keeps timing out and it's rather frustrating.

Right. That pretty much covers it. It's heading up for midnight here, so I think I'll get to bed. I'm putting in an order for 5 solid hours of sleep, please.

I found a fabulous new (to me) coffee shop/cafe to write in, so that's what we're doing right now. WRITE NOW!

Also, I stayed up all night to try and get my sleep schedule back to normal. Since being out of work my bedtime has been drifting later and later, till this week it's around 5:00am. Drastic measures needed to be taken. On the positive side, I got a bunch of writing done and got to chat in IMs with a 3rd-shift friend all night :D

I.. JUST... finished my entry. ^^ I like it, it's been flitting around in my head for days, and I should have written it when I first thought of it, but I really like it.

SO ANYWAY! Today I've been a lazy pile all morning which is not great for my to-do list. Although I DID get the LJI entry in so that's one check off the list..

I'm also VERY nervous about "Phase 2"... D:

Hopefully people are able to get their entries in. This week I've been able to read more entries so far than in any other week. I had a slow day at work yesterday so read all the entries that had been posted. I woke up to a bunch more though. Hopefully I can read them. I have a test to study for today and then maybe tonight it'll be back to reading entries. Some good ones so far.

The number of bye-outs this season is scary. Have previous seasons seen large chunks go each week due to bye-outs?

I wouldn't mind the skull on the top of the tree, honestly, if we could just cover it in glitter. Still a grisly warning, but with a little holiday cheer.

It's very weird getting so used to the GR every day then suddenly not being able to be here...

Tonight I'm going to my department's annual Christmas party at a local fancy restaurant. I need something shiny and new to wear because the holiday sweater I've been wearing these past few years just isn't cutting it anymore.

I've got three still-bleeding cuts on my fingers from trying to dissect a turkey carcass. It hurts to type :(

I'm in the same boat with the Christmas party outfit, but ours isn't till the sixteenth. Baxaphobia and I are going shopping next week I think to save me. I feel like the clothes thing can get competitive, but maybe that's just me having a slight complex about how I look and my weight and all that. Tuesday I got my nails done red and my very long hair trimmed which no one will notice.

Skulls on pikes is *very* Christmas-y, I think. Just wrap a few lights around 'em, maybe stick an ornament between the teeth and boom, instant holiday cheer!

Another tribal shift? Well, this should be interesting. I wonder how he's going to divide us up this time... how we like our steaks cooked? Shoe size? The cake v. pie v. cupcake v. cookie crowds? The mind just boggles at the possibilities.

In other news... I think I could really get used to this "not having to go to the office every day thing." Vacations are pretty rad. :-) Though it's not like I'm not working... it just happens to be work I enjoy! Speaking of which... I'll check in with you hooligans again soon.

Wow, Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving, and then really super sick the last few days. I haven't been on the internet in like, a week. HELLO INTERNET!

Tribal shifts, huh? Again? Already? But it's only been two weeks! Guess I'd better get started on my entry! I came up with the idea the night the topic was announced but have been too sick to write it until today. I really like the idea, though. I hope no one else has done something similar.

Moving in what feels like slow-motion today, trying to catch up on what I missed at work the last two days. I haven't been in the office for so long I'm not even entirely sure I'm still employed here! :D

Yeeeesh. Some week. My girlfriend had knee surgery the day after we fed twenty people for Thanksgiving, and she has been flat on her back since then. It's like having a new baby in the house... I wake up every two hours to give her meds and refresh her ice pack. I'm a bit muzzy these days.

I almost didn't get an entry done this week, which would have been bye #2. That's a little too close to the cliff for me after what happened last season!

My entry is in! I still have a bye left, but there was no way I was using it this week. I wound up posting a story which I never intended to use, but every time I sat down to write THIS story insisted that I write it. Hopefully the readers will enjoy it.

I had a round of depositions this morning, so I have lots of reports to write up this afternoon. Plus, my new dishwasher is supposed to be delivered, which means I get to stay home for the rest of the day (woohoo!)

I need to wander down to the fridge for some leftovers first though. I'm starving!
