Topic - Week 6
Nov. 28th, 2011 09:01 pmI won't be mysterious about where the inspiration for this particular topic came from.
In case, it's less "inspiration" and more "outright lifted it".
Over the last year or so, I've become more and more interested in Top Chef, and all of the spin-offs.
One of the challenges on Masters, which has since shown up on other versions (and even some Top Chef-ish shows) is the idea of creating a dish that relates to the chef's significant food memories.
I've always found that idea really interesting, and was tempted to do something similar with "writing memory" or first memory of reading. . . but the more that I thought about it, the more it appealed to me to stick with the original version. After all, it is something everyone has, and transforming it into a compelling entry is an entirely different skill set from making a dish. ;)
So, that's your topic
Food Memory
Have fun with it!
