Happy Thanksgiving, for those of you who celebrate it!

For those who don't, thanks for having us over! Here, have some blankets!

***

What are you thankful for today? What is gobbling your turkey? What's mashing your potatoes?

Personally, I am thankful that we have a poll out there - http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/500732.html - with some terrific entries. Thank you to everyone who has shown up this season, and for all the you do!

*sets out virtual Thanksgiving dinner for you*

lucky duck! I actually don't mind cooking. It's the fact that I end up cleaning up as well that bothers me

Thankful for friends, family, and everything pretty much.

We already cooked the bird last night, peeled an cut potatoes and prepped the Yorkshire pudding batter. Sweet potatoes are baked and mixed with butter, so just warming those and cooking the sides to do. Mum had to work today, but only five hours, so off to get her soon.

I'm going to bed early tonight cause I have to be at work at 4 tomorrow (ugh), but I'll probably start reading entries when I get home. Depending on how tired I am.

(obviously my work experiences reflected my entry this week.)

Hope everyone who celebrates has a good one, and those who don't, have a nice, slow Internet day :D

Thankful for having a super awesome family- both mine and my husband's.

Today is lunch with his godparents, dad, brother, and a slew of people I don't know. It's sure to be a blast, despite my usual anxiety for party-type situations :)

I'm also thankful that we are finally set up to really truly finish unpacking and cleaning the whole apartment this weekend!

Holidays can be really stressful for those who have social anxiety disorder.
I've been able to hide out upstairs for the most part and not have to be emursed in the crowd.
I will still have to brave it some more for the pumpkin pie. I like pumpkin pie.

:looks up from kitchen counter:

Happy Turkey if you're celebrating! Or Happy Thursday!

Right now I'm in the middle of making my awesome stuffed mushrooms. I made the apple-cranberry crisp last night. I still have to make spinach dip, but that's easy-peasy.

We're going to be having our own Thanksgiving over the weekend sometime. I've only cooked a turkey by myself once, and that was years ago. This is going to be interesting...

From: [identity profile] roina-arwen.livejournal.com
I got my turkey pre-cooked from our supermarket, along with about half the trimmings. I just need to reheat it in the oven for about 1.5-2.0 hours, and make a few side dishes. Enjoy your Turkey Day!

Mmmm... stuffed mushrooms!

Happy Turkey Day Everybody.

I was lol amused last evening watching Survivor when Coach was talking with Cochran. He was deeming each contestant a Greek god or goddess based on their personalities. He said Ozzy was Narcissus! Did anyone else see that? I thought, " Shoot, that would've been some sweet for an entry last week!"

Date: 2011-11-24 03:56 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] xo-kizzy-xo.livejournal.com
LOL -- I caught that ;) It didn't even occur to me to parlay that into an entry.

Happy Turkey!

Of course Cochran had a point when he said that Zeus eventually ate his children...

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it. I made my spiked cranberry orange sauce and candied sweet potatoes which were my two contributions. Now I have to clean up the mess from the sweet potatoes last night. I don't know how a simple task got so messy. I should probably also take a shower so as to be clean for our early dinner.

We're having turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, candied sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, cole slaw, and apple and pumpkin pies. Too bad we ate one of the other desserts last night. lol.

That said I have to be thankful for the food and home I do have, and for the friends, and pray for those who do not.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Lol, we're not eating 'til one, as I get up late and talked my mom into moving it back. Nothing is being gobbled except a snack to hold me over 'til then.

I'm thankful for writing, for friends, for food and clothing and warm water. I'm thankful for the cat, for my siblings, ...that my mom is the one cooking Thanksgiving.

My family never ate until really late, like 6-7 PM would be the goal... but it always came out a little late. One year, when the turkey didn't cooperate or something, it was like 8 PM.

But we always had so many dips and cheese spreads, we easily could hold ourselves over that way until then. Sometimes I'd be stuffed to eat much at dinner from all the appetizers!

Happy Thanksgiving, all! This is the very first year that my husband and I are spending Thanksgiving just the two of us. No multiple families to visit. No upsetting his mom because we're going to his dad's house or to have dessert with my sisters. Just a completely stress-free (assuming my pecan pie turns out okay ^_~) day, just us. And I am all kinds of thankful for that! ^_^

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

While I am a bit sad that I can't see my family back in MO, I am grateful to have such amazing people here in So Cal to spend Thanksgiving with! I will be heading over to [livejournal.com profile] java_fiend's in a few hours, perhaps with Annabelle along for the ride. It will be my first Thanksgiving away from my family since the move, so I feel a bit guilty for leaving them and all... but I know I will have a fabulous day with my sweetie! There is no doubt that it will be great because I spend it with him :)

Right now, I am drinking a homemade eggnog chai tea and loving it. I had two last night. Yummy. Why didn't I think about this before? Starbucks has been such an ass to me lately, so they can shove it now that I can make my own!

Oh I wanted to add for [livejournal.com profile] nyxocity. FX does have American Horror Story on their site, so I watched three episodes last night and going to try to get caught up soon ;)

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

My fellow ChEgg fiend! I've often thought of making them, since I typically hate going to SBux. Do you make them with the chai syrup, or chai tea bags? I know the syrup can be a great deal sweeter, but that's usually what the store uses. Tell meeee!

I'm thankful that tomorrow is Black Friday, because HELL YES SALES OUT THE WAZOO! Last year I scored a Wii for 150 bucks, and a hella snazzy flatscreen HD TV for nearly half price. What treasures await me this year? Only time will tell!

I'm also thankful for my magical intarwebz friends who live in my computer (fandom is seriously the best thing that ever happened to me), a family that hasn't tried to stick me in a mental institution yet despite the fact that I'm completely unhinged, and the existence of smartphones, because they are magic gadgets from outer space that make everything better.

Thankful that my Husband came out of the accident as well off as he did. Thankful for friends that have us over and feed us. Thankful for big family to help me take care of him, and that love to cook and host big parties. All I have to do is clean, and I happen to love tidying up. So, yay.

Less happy that my mother (the narcissist, mind you), found a way to make my Husband's accident about her. "Oh, well, you won't have to visit so he won't have to play nice and be polite if he's feeling unwell." She said a variant of this three times. She's aware he doesn't care for her much, but she's a bitch about it. Why, yes, he's on Vicodin, I'd rather he not leave the house more than necessary, but let's focus on your feelings. UGH.

Focusing on all my amazing friends and their help. Grateful that, for now, there's a roof over my head.
