newsong has suggested that the FAQ (which is actually currently a collection of entries, rather than a single, cohesive piece, and I just updated the link on the profile to go to the tag page, rather than the initial FAQ entry) may not be complete. I must say that I am shocked, Rick, shocked to find that there are people out there who can't read clauderainsrm's mind!*

So, while you're waiting for entries for this week, and hanging out in the Green Room, if you come up with questions you don't think have been adequately addressed, ask them here. Also, if there's something you think has been addressed, just maybe in the comments to another post somewhere and so not added to the FAQ tag page, mention it here.

Yay, FAQ updates =)

I count six posts tagged as FAQ, so any major questions there that are not topic-specific should be morphed to the FAQ...

As a newcomer my biggest questions were about voting - if I could vote for all the entries I liked if the poll allowed - I ask this because this isn't really true of the TV Idol show voting and so it seemed odd to me. Maybe others would also have this question. You should probably have a general "How does voting work" question and state that it's different every time according to the whims of our hosts. =)

Also, you should have a question about how do you get into the competition next time. Because that was my first thought. How do I compete next season? And what's the limit of contestants, if this comm grows a whole bunch more. Can you only compete in one season? (I'm assuming not, of course) That sort of thing.

I must be misunderstanding the question because you CAN vote for as many contestants you want to vote for on the TV Idol - you can also vote as many times as you want, which unfortunately we can't mimick due to the nature of LJ polls and because well the voting would be off the charts!

But yeah, ALMOST all the polls are clicky boxes rather than clicky circles, which allow for people to support ALL of their favorites.

I'll post a sign up sheet, probably a couple weeks before the kick off of the season. You sign up by posting there. Then you show up and post on week one!

The current limit is whenever I go "Oh my god" and look around frantically. Usually a day or so after that point! There MAY eventually be a limit, and some sort of screening to weed the numbers down, but there isn't one as of yet.

You can keep competing until you win. Or get bored. Whatever comes first.

Oh wow. Depending on your (you and clauderainsrm) levels of energy and inclination, that could be pretty cool! On the other hand, only one champeen could win, and you wouldn't want the others to feel all dejected afterward... Hmm. Interesting!

All Stars would probably be like reality shows all stars, some winners, some high profile players and one or two folks the producers throw in just because they couldn't get the "A-list"they wanted!*g* The latter usually end up winning!!

SERIOUSLY? It would have to be the right fit at the right time *and* find an abbreviated way to do it so I didn't end up jumping the shark/burning out the franchise in the process with back to back seasons.

*nods* I can only imagine that LJ Idol takes up a really big percentage of your energy and creative reserves. The logistics involved in finding appropriate contestants would also be non-trivial. But if it worked, I'm sure it'd be spectacular!

the problem being that I'm sure that the non-winners who would be ideal to participate are the ones who will either sign up for season whatever, so it would be "hey sign up for season _, all stars and then season _"!

if I did it it would be after a few more seasons more likely than not.
