Got back on track with my NaNo today. I was going to bake an awesome apple cake, but I wrote instead, and my partner followed my extremely neurotic directions instead. Now I'll go make the penuche icing to go on top.

Tonight is the unofficial "Night of Writing Drunkenly" in the sprinting rooms, so that should be fun! First I'm going to that concert I mentioned the other day, though!

This is a late GR post!

I'm awake way too early (it's 7:20AM on a Sunday!), but I was hungry and it was the kind of hungry you just can't ignore, heh.

How's everyone's weekend so far? I saw Moneyball yesterday, which I really enjoyed. I'm a sucker for sports films, but this is a different kind of sports film, so it was a nice change. My sister also bought me some Moleskines for my birthday, which she thinks is a boring present (I asked her to get them for me), but which I think is pretty darn cool. Anyone else here use a Moleskine?

Right now? I hate Apple products. Whoever said a Mac was more user friendly than a PC is full of B.S. I have had this thing for like 4 years and it's still an ass.

Trying to update my iPhone should be easy, right? It said to download the new iTunes. I did that. I go to update my phone again and it says I need to update iTunes, which I just did.

Please don't tell me I am getting old already. I thought I knew technology *sigh*.

Good news is my entry is off to my beta reader (aka my boyfriend), so until I get feedback from him, I should be off cleaning or something...

Hi everybody! How's everyone doing this fine afternoon?

I have been cleaning house all day, specifically the bathroom, but we keep running out of hot water. I also noticed how disgusting our toilet is under the rim so I will have to disenfect that. The stuff I have will not stick to the underside of the bowl, and my husband is out with the car, so I will have to wait until he's home to purchase whatever it is I need to clean the rim... anyone have any suggestions on what works well under there?

Back from my writing workshop and the anarchist book fair. Somehow I ended up volunteering for NC Girls Rock and the local homeless shelter. I also came home with some really cool books and my new favorite magnet for the fridge: "All my heroes have FBI files."

I wouldn't want to hang around either. I woke up this morning to my cat, Kara (see icon, although she's grown now), deciding to pee on the bed for no apparent reason - I scooped out the catboxes just yesterday! And I saw her do it, too - when she did that turning-around thing that pets do, I thought she was just settling down, until all of a sudden I realized what she was actually doing when the smell hit me... not the best way to start the day.

Of course, I had to clean up the mess, took the sheets off the bed and spray the mattress down, etc. Fortunately, she missed the pillows and the comforter (she peed near the top third of the bed). I ran the laundry and after breakfast bought a waterproof mattress pad, since the one that had been on the bed was NOT waterproof. *sigh*

Hubby helped me re-make the bed, and now he's soundly sleeping, and Kara has been banned from the bedroom for the rest of the day.

Ugh! What a lovely start to the day.

This is one of the reasons I don't own cats. They have this overwhelming urge to occasionally, randomly pee on things. At least, this happens with most of the people I know who have cats. I wonder what that's all about? Territory or something?

I had a hard week, had 2 hours of dental work done on Thursday. It went well but still...achy jaw.

This weekend is going to be insane. We pulled all the carpet out of our basement this week, scraped up linoleum, and pulled up baseboard. This evening we are cleaning the floor and painting the walls and ceiling. Tomorrow we put the epoxy down on the floor.... tiring process but it is going to look amazing.

Now if I could just shake the fog I am in thanks to my benadryl.

Kicking a few ideas around in my head for the post. Seems like quite a few people already took the direction I was planning, and it doesn't seem like I could be happy with my own take.

I normally don't mind reading before I write my own stuff, but now I'm feeling sort of defeated. It doesn't help much that another entry left me sort of shell-shocked and feeling a bit raw. There could be an entry there, but it'd be awfully disjointed. Or there's the third option to play around with some mythos, but I'm less on the creative side.

These are my grumblepants, and yes they are quite comfy.

And contrary to what Gary says, it's not that frightening, although SO would no doubt disagree. After all, they share a birthday, so it's natural they'd be on the same side, which IS frightening :shudder:

I've spent most of the day in a whirlwind of errands and spontaneous events. We ran into my MIL (who was buying my present at the time) at a local store. The people at SO's PT Job gave me lunch gratis. I've got the most sinfully delicious-looking chocolate cake from Local Fancy Bakery sitting on the counter and I don't dare cut into it until SO returns from PT Job later tonight. I don't know how long I'll be able to hold out!

Meanwhile I'm still writing this week's entry in my head. I'm hoping to post it sooner rather than later because I've been told there's "something else" going on tomorrow. Hmmm...
