This weekend has been quiet. Skipped a party to have a movie night, got waylaid into the second half of Torchwood: Miracle Day because the one friend to show up hadn't seen it yet. Husband is grumpy. I ate too much candy.

I've only read a few pieces, and there's already a couple that stand out. It's such a crazy talented season.

Tonight we went to our friend's place to have dinner and watch horror movies. We settled on my DVD of "An American Werewolf in London" and "Fright Night", and then my friend who was throwing the get together started going on about "American Horror Story" and I asked if she had any eps, and we ended up watching all four that have aired so far and not a single movie. Still not sure how I feel about it, but man, I have a burning need to keep watching and find out what happens next. Show is seriously messed up.

Boo on being up because my neighbors are assholes who are being obnoxiously loud and ignorant. Yeah, I'm getting old. I know it's Saturday before Halloween, but they are going WAY too far for someone who lives in an apartment complex, I think.

As for favorites, I do have one, but I don't like to single them out, because I haven't read everyone, yet. And also, because the entries are all so different that favorites are very subjective and possibly even transitory.

But as far as being subjective goes, yeah, that's true...

But overall, that's what makes everyone listing their favorites fun since it gives a wide variety of opinions of what people are doing well instead of the same people always listing the same types of things.

I have excellent news! I won.. on my own terms.. kinda.

Because of this contest (and because I posted something to my livejournal that my friend read today), I just got offered a position to write for an online comic. I don't know how my friend missed that I wrote as a hobby lifestyle, but he suddenly glanced upon my written work today and low and behold he'd been looking for someone to write a comic book (he's good with the drawing, not with the writing). He realized, upon reading my Week 2 Entry, that I was the writer he was looking for.. and so now I get to write a whole online comic.

I've ventured into several different forms of writing, but this is completely new and interesting and I'll have pictures to go along with my writing! And hopefully I'll get some comic book readers interested in my writing that I wouldn't have been able to lure in with just my prose (ie. bigger audience).

This is winning for me. This is starting something completely awesome and new and fun and that pushes the envelope of what I've done before.

So, if I win LJIdol, or if I don't, that's okay. I got something completely unexpected from this contest and which (I'm sorry to say, don't hate me) seems even bigger right now than the grand prize.

I hope everyone finds their own piece of the prize like I did. Go and shoot for the moon, if you miss you'll at least land in the stars. :)

Hey everyone! A GR in the middle of the afternoon and I still missed it! I was out at the Meet and Greet with the North Perth Wrimos and it was FUN ;) The only downside? The cake I chose was both larger than and not as nice as I expected. Oh well.

Writing my entry tonight. Will probably edit in the morning after I've got rid of the munchkins, and then get round to reading! I've only read those on my flist but so far, some greaaat stuff. As usual :)

Tough day at the tournament (http://www.californiaopen.org/CO2011/html/) yesterday - it was to be expected, given the quality of opposition I ended up facing. Still, being in sixth (and only a game off the pace) with four games to go isn't a bad position, though I'm probably going to need to win out to take the title.

Friday I woke up, went to a photo shoot, came home, packed, got McDonald's, got a tattoo, went to Halloween Spirit who didn't have what I was looking for, locked my keys in my car, called AAA, changed clothes, missed AAA's call back, got my car unlocked, went to a halloween party, left 20min later than I thought I should, drove to Troy, changed clothes, went to a comedy club, drank 5 glasses of wine, went to sleep. ^^

Saturday! I went to Starbucks, went to the salvation army, went back home, helped my friend who's getting married in 2 weeks do some stuff for her wedding, drove to Owosso, played Dingo! :D
