Green Room - Week 28 - Day 07

I'm really not sure what to say this morning.

I wrote something out, but it devolved into a whole lot of swearing.

Those who know what is going on - don't spread it further.

Those who do not know what's going on - revel in your lack of involvement. Celebrate it. Hang it like a batter from the highest rafters.

Those who know have nothing to be proud about considering that I should have immediately been informed, and was not. People have really disappointed me.

I shouldn't be surprised. But I always am.

It never fails, there is always someone who are so self-absorbed that they are "exempt"/doing good/the one great truth teller (and always in the most cowardly way possible. Odd that) - and people who don't stop and actually *think*.

I will be evaluating what is going to happen next. If people come forward, in private, there is a chance that I won't have to have a response. I'd much rather I didn't... so would you...just really, really disappointed in humanity at the moment.

That said - other than that - and finding a rat/mouse in my toilet when I got home last night... note: ALWAYS look into the toilet first!! I'm glad that happened to glance!!... it was a good night.

It did not.

I have two cats. Because I have two cats, and one of them doesn't really stop to think all that often before jumping, I close the lid to the toilet. Every time.

Which means either this mouse (I'm told it's a large mouse and not a medium sized rat, that makes sense) made an entry point that I haven't found any evidence of yet... went through the house, avoided the cats, forced up the wooden lid on the toilet... and fell in OR it came up through the septic system.

OR I missed the tiny mouse sized blue box that he arrived in...

See, I'm Australian and spent a lot of my childhood on a farm. It's second nature to me to look before sitting... as well as to check my shoes before putting them on and well shake out clothes that have been drying on the washing line!

Gary, Gary. I don't know what happened, since I'm generally oblivious, but hang in there. And don't grind your teeth too much while you sleep. That way leads headaches.

Good news, good news. I'm almost through watching Hex? Which is kind of horrible so I'll be glad I'm through with it. I just have this thing where I have to know what happens if I get started. And I've got a really good start on my Machine of Death submission, so that might happen after all. And I'm going to see Green Lanter tomorrow and filming for SGTV on Saturday.

But possibly you wanted good news that was less me-centric so um...the sun still works?

Morning folks. I am also clueless, but I was stopping by to ask for some good thoughts to be sent to the NYC area. My partner is having surgery (nothing serious, and it was planned, but surgery nonetheless) this morning and I'm sitting here waiting and that's the worst.

Good news? It's almost Friday? That's good, right? That and I didn't work late last night. WooHoo! I'm still exhausted and really should go in Saturday though. I tried to work from home last night but the files didn't transfer over to Mac well. Boo.

Good news... I've been busily cleaning the house and so far it's still relatively clean - it won't last, but I'm revelling in the almost-cleanliness. Like, I can actually see the top of the kitchen table, and I've nearly finished all the washing up. Yay!

I never really know what goes on around here, and for the most part I tend to stay happier that way, LOL.

Also? My batter doesn't hang from the rafters... it just sort of drips off onto the floor and leaves a big puddle. If I'm not careful, I'll play slip-n-slide and go bang-zoom into the wall and wind up *really* battered!

In good(?) news, I get to answer phone lines for the whole foster care team today since they're out on a staff meeting / team building expedition. This, of course, is in addition to the 8 lines that I already answer for my own two teams.... *sigh*

Hang in there, Gary. Your hard work here is most greatly appreciated. Without Idol, I never would have had the balls to go after my first paid writing gig. It's been nearly a year now, and I'm still going strong. I've also finished the first draft of my novel, and again, because of this forum. Seriously.

Whoa. Seems like there's always some kind of drama in Idol! Part of me would love to know what's going on, but that's the part of me that loves hot gossip and I try to ignore her when possible.

My night was relatively dull, but nice enough. It's starting to get really tough that my SO is thousands of miles away! Even if it is only temporary. Too many lonely nights! So I hung out with Mike Nelson, Tom Servo, and Crow T. Robot last night... they're always there when I need 'em!

I've been worried that there would be some kind of drama erupting now that we're nearing the end because we've been so drama-free this season (well, mostly), but it's good that you caught it early and put an end to it. It would be a shame to end things on a bad note. Hopefully, whoever was involved comes clean.

Gary handles drama like a pro. I have comets faith in his abilities to get to the bottom of this. I think drama comes with the territory, I mean we are a very large group and we are competing in something most of us put a lot into...but seriously? Life is too short to get all huffy. I prefer the happy, friendly place that Gary is so great at creating for us.

I've made so many friends, a boyfriend, and I've really gotten back into writing and want to go somewhere with it. I have Idol to thank for all that.

Good news? We had cake at work today. Our monthly birthday celebrations. It's cake and an hour of laughing at jokes that are really just wrong for the work place. It reminds me that I work with people that are awesome and hilarious.

Bad news? I have too much work to do and shouldn't have taken that hour off. Looks like I'll be in on Saturday after all...

Good news?

I am going to Europe for a month! for a conference, and some sampling, and then some fun.

I now have stockings in 15 different colours.

My sand reached pH 8.3-8.5, and I learnt a valuable lesson: don't just add NaOH randomly, then try and dilute. Actually calculate what the pH is going to be.

All my sisters are going to be home for Christmas.

The show I am in is going excellently, and there is only 2 performances left.

No clue what The Situation is all about, but I hope you can get it resolved without too much more trouble than you've apparently already had with it.

My good news is that I will finally move into my new house this weekend! We've been building our house here in northern MN for nearly two years now, and it's finally done. Need to clear out the straggling tools and such, give it a cleaning/dusting, and then we can start hauling stuff in. \o/
