There are decisions that are made and decisions ahead of you. Each one of them has an impact on what comes after, building until only one person is left standing - our next LJ IDOL.

You decided what to write in Week 1. That helped decide what tribe you were going to be in to start the competition. That is also what decided what grouping you would be this week.

Over the course of the season, people have exited the game, now we have 11. We are about to have three less.

Two contestants are leaving from one poll. One contestant is leaving for the other.

Who will be making that decision? The contestants, and Jury members will. How? By selecting their Spirit of the LJ Idol for Season 7, http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/470043.html they will be putting that decision in her/his hands. The person you name will have a major call to make, one that will have a deep impact on how things shake out this week, right out of the box. That's why they are the Spirit, and have your respect and trust. . . to make the difficult decisions for the good of the competition!!

I'm not going to lie - after reading through the entries this week, the voters have their work cut out for them determining on who makes it to the next round and who gets cut. There is just some damn good stuff out there, and all of pretty different. It's always a matter of taste - but with fewer entries to choose from, that comes more to the forefront.

Heck, the Jury is going to have their work cut out for them in determining who receives immunity! :)

So make sure to read, comment and vote!! Your favorites will certainly appreciate it! (Especially the commenting part - people love constructive feedback.)

Damn, sounds like this is a good week for me to be on the jury. I'd be pissing my pants right about now if I was still in the game. :P Mind, at least I'd have been in the bigger group! I look forward to reading what I haven't already :D

LoL but the bigger group has the greater percentage chance of being eliminated!

Assuming that we are eliminating 2 from the first poll, and 1 from the second poll, that means that being in the first poll gives you a 2/7 chance of elimination (or 28.5%) and being in the second poll gives you a 1/2 chance of elimination (or 25%). Better to be in the second poll!

Depends what the Spirit winner decides, though. Maybe they'll be mean and eliminate 50% of poll 2 :P

(I should maybe add that's not necessarily mean... they might just prefer the entries in the first poll; and also, we don't know when they'll have to make their decision. Before the poll closes? After?)

This is true, although I think choosing to loose two from the smaller poll would make the Spirit winner look kind of... heh, mean :P

Well, yes, this is something I'm currently discussing with someone else. People do tend to care about how they look, don't they? But if I had been eligible and won, I could see myself facing a tough decision if I found one of my absolute favourites in the bottom 2 or 3 of the first poll. On the other hand, I have favourites in the second poll, too. Lucky for me I know I won't have to make that decision :P

I could totally see how choosing to eliminate two people from the smaller poll, would result in a negative reputation and by default it would affect the subsequent poll, unless that person themselves were in danger.

It was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the Spirit of LJ power.

While it might make a certain amount of strategic sense to assign the higher number of eliminations to the smaller poll, I can't imagine that anyone would do that because it would sort of make them seem like a jerk. Which, in turn, would probably sign their proverbial death sentence for the following week.

I suppose you could use it to save yourself if you were in the larger poll, but it still made me think "how bizrre."

All right, in fact, if Spirit is in the smaller poll and chose to put the two in the smaller poll, I could see that as smacking of a certain kind of nobility. Provided they weren't already ahead by uku-million votes.
