I misread LJ's "Question of the Day" this morning.

For those who skim past it or have tried to block it out due to the severe trauma that it causes you when you realize that *real people* came up with these "writing prompts". . . LJ puts up a new question every day and you are supposed to be inspired to write a response.

This one was something about if you had the chance to visit anywhere, free of charge... whre would it be? Which isn't a bad question - but it's not the one that I SAW when I glanced at it - I thought they were asking where you wanted to visit, that was Free of Change.

Only completely paper based currency countries for me!!! None of that "change" business!!! ;)

For the record, for those who asked - no, there are NO "write ins". I'm not going to throw out the ballots or anything, but I'm also not counting those votes. Even it is for kittymichaels or one of our younger competitors from earlier this season! ;)

I think Summer has completely forgotten about the competition! She only ever voted for herself anyway since she thought she was the winner.

People trying to use their alts to vote in a "send Gary an email" vote would have been pointless.

I'm referring to well meaning questions asking if it's OK to vote for people who are NOT currently contestants. I'm sure no one means to be insulting, but they are.

Commenting from my sister's place where I'm spending the weekend. We (me, her and her husband) have movie-watching to do; I think we're going to see The Hangover 2 and Super 8, which I'm really looking forward to. We're also going to check out Sydney's Vivid Festival (http://vividsydney.com/) tomorrow night, which should be pretty awesome. YAY for fun weekends! :D

Did you know that, if you routinely take allergy medication, you're less likely to have a reaction to certain poisonous plants, even if you're ordinarily horrendously allergic to said plants?

I didn't realize this until I read a blurb about it a few days ago. Then I realized that 1) I routinely take such; 2) a little brown dog has the habit of running through patches of said plant; and 3) I have yet to have any kind of reaction :knocks woods:

It was sad to see three of my friends leave last night, especially since they are all such kind-hearted and lovely ladies. But I'm super impressed they made it as far as they did!

In a short while, I am going to go out yarn shopping with my future mother-in-law. We also may go to Goodwill! Should be fun. :) Especially since today I can actually kind of breathe. It's not perfect, but it's better than the last two days were with their obscenely high pollen and ozone counts.

I'm totally NOT excited about it being Friday. I've got some things on my mind, one of them being the fact that we're going camping this weekend. In this scorching, humid, baking heat. I was okay with that until last night when my husband sprung on me that we're bringing TENTS. Like, WTF do we own a camper for? So I'm very disgruntled about how uncomfortable, sticky and sweaty my weekend is going to be, with no relief.

As usual I'm in opposite land from most folks (I've got five shows over the next three days) but at least the people in this show have settled in quite nicely and don't require a lot of extra hand-holding to get it done.

Flippity floppity in my head is when I should sign up for my next half-marathon. There's likely to be a poll in my LJ later today, if folks are around this weekend they should check it out.

You'll be going to Cambodia, then? Because they totally only have notes instead of coins... there's US dollars for most stuff, but if there's any cents you have to pay it in notes of Cambodian currency! Totally bizarre :P

I had an interesting experience last night that would be perfect for my "Winding Up" home game entry. Which is excellent, seeing as I had no clue what to write before then. Thanks for making the home game thread!
