LOL! Just when I thought I was going to have to chase it, and tie it down the green room re-emerged!!

My weekend has been good - my week is better, because I don't have to unblock toilets tonight... I'm going to the theatre instead!! :)
Also, I'm going to be commenting on the Love Post later: I want to do everyone at once so the love is equally scattered :)

Well, I talked to Boy about the Big Move and how he can be a part of it now if he likes since the roomie and I pushed it back. And I tried the biscuits at Red Lobster which are NOT AS GOOD AS THE HYPE, GUYS. I don't care what you say, none of those biscuits ate me out.

I've had them several times (the biscuits that is, what else would I be talking about after all?!?) and a couple times, they were delightful. Most of the time? They are just biscuits...I think it depends on how hungry I am at the time. I've been starving (and/or drunk) and ate stuff and thought "This is the best food EVER!" only to eat it again later and wonder what the heck I was thinking...

I'm pretty useless at work today since I just got back from visiting family late last night. I have been away from work for 7 days, come back and realize my boss is taking the next 7 days off now. Hopefully that means I can get caught up!

Well, it was useless contacting a few appraisers concerning my mother's china, table linens, and flatware. They're already bursting at the seams because everyone wants to sell, but nobody wants to buy. One of them said the market here is oversaturated to the extent that even if he tried selling them at Brimfield (the megahuge antiques market in this area), he's not even sure he'll make a profit. He wasn't even discussing what I had either...this was concerning the inventory he already has!

Another one said that adults nowadays aren't interested in fine china. They want stuff from Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel.

It just seems a shame that all this is either destined for Goodwill or a dumpster :(

Do you have any storage space? Stuff like that will probably come back into fashion (at the moment it's like "Ew, old lady look") or become more collectible. You could keep hold of it for a few years and then sell it?

I was hugely productive this weekend, and now I'm just damn exhausted from it.

I've finished reading, but I want to go back and comment on everyone. Everyone has really done a great job on their revisions. The quality in this contest never ceases to blow me away.

Castles are the not useless thing for us this week after my being useless meaning that we went on the wrong day with friends so had to go back a couple of days later to see the medieval re-enactment stuff. And ancient sites in general - we have so many of them round where I live that we're spoilt for choice and it makes it very easy to entertain children.

And taxes. I am almost all done with my taxes, although I thought the NZ stuff would be straightforward and it isn't so I have to call them tonight :o(

Taxes are useless. Unless you get lucky like I somehow did and get a large sum given back. But mostly, it's just a big pain in the rear all around :-(

It's 1am here but nights before poll close make me nervous and I can't sleep properly. :P

Anyhow, yesterday I was IMing a non Idol friend and without me asking her to check out idol this week, she informed me she just voted. I refreshed the poll and discovered she'd voted for several people. Turns out my encouraging people to read before voting has actually had an effect! I felt pretty chuffed about that.

Also, I've spent the last two days of "well, I've already finished reading and voting" boredom to write a third revision of my pirate story. I'd probably never have submitted it for idol even if I had finished it in time, but it was still fun to do for myself. It's public in case anyone is interested in checking it out after they've finished voting.

I still can't wrap my head around having missed the deadline. I think I'm suffering from lack of closure! :D

I wanted to take some time and post a proper goodbye and tell you all what you and this experience have meant to me, but I simply haven't had the time to write it up this week.

I spent Monday evening from 7pm to 12am working from home. So that sucked. But on the bright side, we had a cookout/pool party with a bunch of our friends on Saturday, and that was a blast. I guess there's nothing about my week so far that hasn't been useless. It's all been very productive!

My Memorial Day weekend involved a gathering of friends, some of whom I don't get to see very often, plus good conversation, a walk in which we saw a pet(?) peacock wandering around, and some fun tie-dying.

This weekend I...

Saw Kung Fu Panda 2, saw Pirates of the Caribbean 4, got a mani/pedi, had breakfast with a friend I haven't seen in nearly 5 years, randomly dropped in on my band instructor who I haven't seen in 8 years, caught up over noodles with another friend of mine I haven't seen in a while, ate WAY too much food consisting of cheese dogs, potato salad, baked beans, mac&cheese, BBQ potato chips and Dr. Pepper; ate my mom's delicious homemade eggplant parmesan (since we're including yesterday), caught myself up on Dr. Who, caught myself up on Gray's Anatomy (which I thought finale'd a while back but didn't), watched a LOT of The Daily Show, played my flute, allowed my grandma to schedule a foot appointment with a "trustworthy" orthopedic doctor at Duke University, arranged for a flight to leave Friday and get back Monday in time for my 6pm class, oh! enrolled in summer school semester, drank frozen coffee (nummers!), somehow got every one of my friends pissed off at me, and bought a cute LBD that I'm wearing to my friend's bachelorette party next weekend. ^^

Been busy with the last week of school/ work.
Also Fuzzy1 graduates this weekend! Party on Saturday and actual ceremony on Sunday!
My job fate is still undecided for next year. I could remain a lowly but excellent substitute or become a regular staff member. The job dance continues.
Class to become a Zumba instructor is in 2 1/2 weeks!

Last weekend already seems so long ago! Maybe it was the hen night for one of the girls at work, or perhaps that was the weekend before. We all dressed up as geeks, it was brilliant fun! Work the next morning, not so much.

I'm currently down the Jersey Shore with team_jessie, for the week! We're coming home Saturday.

(It was, and is, a perfectly respectable vacation destination, even after the horrible reality show of the same name was made. Hell, Cape May was voted the number 2 beach destination in the world, although I prefer the actual beaches in Wildwood.)

Therefore, my responses and updates will be spotty. It takes almost a half hour to get my friggin' email with the slow internet connection here. Also, chasing babies around the beach takes up much of the day.

Late to the green room as always!

My Memorial Day weekend was absolutely chock full of productivity, I must say. I finished all of my grading, made my exam exemption list (or non-exemption list, I should say - all of the kids who HAVE to take my Great Gatsby exam), laid out in the sun to kickstart my usual fruitless attempt to get a tan over the summer, and read nearly all of The Poisonwood Bible, which is weird and fascinating and disturbing all at once.

This is the least useless week in ages because it's THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL HA HA HA HA HA HA! Soon my students will be gone for the summer and I can FINALLY RELAX!

And possibly stop harping on about school. But we'll see.
