Tonight we're going to Comedy off Broadway with friends to see comedian Tim Wilson. Woot!

Friday is another furlough day (aka, unpaid day off). It's nice that we get a 4-day weekend for Memorial day, but sucks that it's a no-pay day. 'Round these parts we've taken to referring to them as F-days. LOL.

I've got nothing except these awesome apple date ginger streusel muffins I made last night. I added a little oatmeal to them for extra fiber. They're not bad at all!

Now if there was a way to contain the streusel so pieces of it don't get caught in the keyboard...

Nom nom nom! I have a prune cake sprinkled in hazelnuts and almonds and covered in butterscotch sauce that I helped make the other day. The prunes were meant to be dates and the nuts were meant to be walnuts and pecans, but it is still delicious! And I'm hoping we have leftover butterscotch when the cake is finished so I can make butterscotch milkshakes. :D

I had a great day, and it's now coming to its inevitable and welcome close. I was going to post an update but I kept falling asleep and missing parts of words, so I figured it can just wait until tomorrow's inevitable (and still welcome) arrival.

Just think, I get to sleep for several hours now in my comfy bed with our cosy doona, while you all have to go to work.

Don't throw stones, but I haven't had a chance to read yet. I was tied up in divorce court most of yesterday and am back in another county's divorce court today. I HATE divorce court. It's such a nasty and anger filled place. I'm hoping I can read this afternoon and vote in time. Normally, I'd just check the boxes from my phone, but this vote is more complicated!

Sometimes the universe is kind! The deadline I was working against so busily the last two days? There's been a sudden halt called to the task! They're taking a meeting on it this morning and I don't expect we'll hear anything until late this afternoon or tomorrow. This means I have time to read today! \o/

I'm now on summer scheduled, although it hasn't felt that way. It's likely for the best that I effed up on Idol when I did, because I'm just not sure I'd have been able to do it. Too busy. After today I'm not working for a week and a half, and then on my 2-days-per-week schedule until late August. I'm teaching a college class on Thursday nights, which might be kind of FUN.

Otherwise, life is good and I miss you sweet people.

kittymichaels had a good day yesterday, enjoying his special wet food and joining us for our ahi dinner. Grey Cat is perplexed that he's getting so much attention, since she's the queen. He was very social yesterday, so he and I did some more dancing and engaged in a high tension round of quat fu, which he naturally won. The day concluded with him falling asleep on my feet.

Read and sent my rankings in. Almost no comments, I'm sorry; tech rehearsals start tonight and this one is busier than usual for me. Various staff members are way over-worked and cranky, and my assistant is newer, so I'm having to keep eyes and fingers on a lot more things than usual.

I feel like spelling out that IT IS OBVIOUS THAT YOU CANNOT BE ON YOUR CELL PHONE DURING A TEST, STUDENTS, BECAUSE THAT IS CONSIDERED CHEATING.

Oh, wait, I already did spell that out, it's just that no one listened. Huff!

I do not want to bother with grading the rest of these chapter questions over Great Gatsby, but I have kind of kicked ass as far as my grading timeline has gone this cycle, so I guess I shall continue to be awesome.
