Even if you are not though - those comments may come into play at some point. I would definitely make sure you are getting out there and encouraging the contestants, and making your own voice heard about what it is you like and what you don't like as much.

This time next month, I will be done with school and it will be AMAZING. 'Cause then I will likely never have to think of contemporary Russian history ever again, which will certainly be good for my liver.

Also: comments coming into play? Could you be so insidious as to bring them into the actual game?

I can barely make sense of "this time tomorrow".

Meanwhile, I'm sorting my laundry instead of writing my thesis. Then I'll rearrange the bookshelf, and the desk, and my DVDs, and maybe spend several hours playing Angry Birds. Then I'll rearrange the wardrobe (again).

Also, I need to cut the ivy from outside. It's growing up the inside walls of my bedroom again. LOL.

I'm certainly trying to comment on everything. I got all my rankings in, and I'll try to go back and comment on things I missed. Just because I didn't comment, didn't mean I didn't love it. I may have been reading from my phone at work or in an extra big hurry. I considered writing a rec list if I get time because there is some dang good stuff out there. I am leaving for MO tomorrow, java_fiend is coming over tonight and last night? I got distracted by posting pics :$

Yes! I am almost done with my rankings, but it's a race to try to get them in, so I haven't left many comments yet. I'll try to go back and comment at least on the entries I liked best.

I've noticed a dearth of comments on all my posts this week, but I assume that is because there is three times the stuff to read. Completely understandable, although my personal favorite of my entries is the one with the fewest comments (aww!)

Re: comment theory: I have to guess that those remaining writers will glean from comments what writing goes over well and what doesn't. Unless Gary is truly evil, which...could also be the case.

The things is that I have found that some of my entries that get very few comments actually get a significantly higher number of votes that ones that get a lot of comments. I think there are a lot of factors involved in how many comments people receive-- the biggest one for me is almost always how close to the deadline I post, with early entries getting more comments than late entries. My entries this week are a perfect example of that-- the first entry I posted has the most comments, the second has the second most, and the third has only one. Timing, length of entry, timing of the polls, and a whole bunch of other things seem to play a lot more of a role in whether a post gets comments than how well-liked it is compared to other entries.

Hmmmmmm... at this time next month? Barring some friggin' miracle, chained to this very cube I sit at now. *le sigh* At least I least I have a job and can pay my bills. That's somethin' I suppose.

I am on pins and needles waiting to see how this week's round is going to shape up... will there be a poll? Will it be closed voting? Will all 3 pieces be up for a vote? Will only 1? Will Gary just release the rabid wombats upon us and at this time next month, most of us will be recovering from our wounds???

Today is not a bad day, just an incredibly busy one, as tomorrow will be, and Thursday. Last night, our daughter's softball game was an hour drive each way (also, they lost :(), tonight we have to drive an hour each way to go visit a friend in the hospital, and tomorrow night I have to travel an hour each way to have dinner with a friend who's visiting from out of town. *SIGH* I am seriously despairing of being able to read ANYthing this week, much less everything, and I really want to be able to participate. If only I could get rid of that pesky sleep thing.
