What is it that is driving you into the weekend? A desire to do something specific? A f-ed up Ford? A little deuce coupe? A guy named Duck who is about to go hunting bear?

Gary, you deliberately waited to post the green room until after I posted my rec list (http://comedychick.livejournal.com/499445.html), didn't you? :P (There's also a nifty poll at the start because I'm curious what people actually think about my doing rec lists. Usually the only response I get is people thanking me for recommending their work, and I'm not sure if anyone else pays attention to them).

I've only just started reading, but I'd love to throw out a "hell yes!" for serpentpixie and beeker121's intersection.

Also, I'm reading the entries in pairs, starting at the top, and I'm noticing how all the entries I've read so far have been one from the very start of the alphabet and one from the very end! I mean, that pattern is probably going to end with the very next entry I read, but it's kind of cool.

Especially Boo since my shoulder is aching like mad from canoeing last night -- I went over a weir in a canoe and am still alive!!

This afternoon, however I get to write an adaptation of The Castle of Crossed Destinies, which is much more Yay!

Can I just say how much I am loving the entries this week? 'Cos I am. I've read about half of them, I think, and I'm pretty sure I will be voting for A LOT of them. Certainly more than I usually vote for. Way to go, guys!

I am going to see Scream 4 tomorrow. The teenager in me is SUPER EXCITED! I will also be buying Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 (OMG, so long) on DVD. The HP geek in me is also SUPER EXCITED!

Tonight I have to go to a bar in a Best Western to watch a kitschy vaguely vintage Vegas type of lounge act. MY LIFE. SO HARD. One of the four star reviews left at Yelp (most of them are five stars) states that there's only so much kitsch a person can take. And that is a god damned lie if there ever was one. BRING ON THE CRUSHED VELVET!

Another bust day here as I attempt to do my work, cover my friend's law office while he's out of town, watch the kidlets (no school today) and we're celebrating my sister's thirteenth birthday (taking her and 2of her friends to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch, followed by bowling). Oh and taking the kids to see my in laws tonight. There aren't enough hours in the day AT ALL! Hubby is working a late shift, so I'm putting him on kid duty early and then won't see him until midnight or so.

I created a little spreadsheet that allows me to copy in the poll and it will add up the team's total count, etc.

So, here is the current poll, sorted highest to lowest by team count, as of the moment that I'm posting this comment. (It will of course slowly go out of date as more people vote.) I know lots of people probably don't have time to keep adding things up themselves or whatever, so hopefully this will be useful to some.

Many, many of the entries lower on the poll definitely deserve some love, and hopefully this will let people start with those entries, etc. :)

Tonight? Well I'm going to see my amazing intersection partner! We are going to get dinner and go see a movie! I'm looking forward to it! The rest of the weekend should be good too as we will hang out. Nothing planned thus far, but I'm always excited for laid back and relaxing weekends.

I haven't read a lot of entries yet, but I'll do that Saturday morning before it closes. I've been busy prepping for my new roommate moving in today. But I'll get to them!

Out of the few I've read, they all rocked. But they are also doing well in the poll. Though I do think. redvelvetgrrl's entry is better than the polls give her credit for (as always, I don't get it really as she's always pretty good and is low in the polls). Of the ones I've read (which isn't many), I have to say basric and similiesslip put together something really awesome and it really got to me. I'm still thinking about it a day later. Good stuff, I tell ya. Oh and I just ran over and read a couple more on my phone and want to give a push for ravenshrinkery and cheshire23 as I really like what they are doing there and think it's written well and has a good message.

We all know I love my partner to bits. He's amazing and anyone would be lucky to work with him in the future.

This week has happened at warp speed! Man! Did I tell you guys I did get hired? It's for the little Montessori school. Pay is so-so, but it's close to home and it sure will be a sweet opportunity to teach and appear more professional.

(Take *that* (a certain finger), Stupid School Admin who rejected me last month and regarded me as worthless!!)

This ups my chances for a better teaching opp next school year, and there are three possible job chances out there. My fate there is yet to be determined. The Job Dance continues to Act II, but for now I got something! Yesssss!!!!!

Well given that amenquohi is whooping mine and douchejuice combined's butt in the polls all on her lonesome, I guess I'd say that we should both be getting more love than we are IMVHO. Douchejuice was an awesome partner to work with too - he's very easy to work with and I think he's another one of the underrated writers out there, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to partner him. I'd hate to be responsible for taking him out of the contest.

If we did intersections again this season, who would be your Idol dream team and why? Who would you like to see partnered up? Who would make for an interesting team?

This type of stuff is fun. I know who I'd love to work with if future opportunities presented themselves (comedychick,mstrobel, joeymichaels obviously, talonkarrde88 just to name a few...trust me, it's a long list and there's not a person left that I'd be opposed to work with.)

Tonight I am going to see a production of M. Butterfly in the city. I worked on a version of this show several years ago, so I'll have to get past the 'but it's different' part.

I've read just over half the entries and plan to finish today. Then I need to start worrying about whether we're intersecting again next week, and how many folks have already planned ahead.

I'm pretty sure I got a partner lined up if we do...and have someone else who's put in a request that would be fun for another round if we did it. Just craziness, I tell you! I'd never think to ask in advance like this! I'd be begging around like I did last season, but I found some awesome partners that way that I'd normally wouldn't have considered since I didn't know them well before.

I'm off work today on yet another furlough day - we seem to be getting one a month. Basically, an unpaid day off as a "balance budgeting measure." Meh. We like to call them our "F-day," LOL.

So I'm at home, I've gotten about 1/3 or so of the entries read as of last night, and for the most part they've been quite impressive! Some are more "my thing" than others, but no clunkers in the bunch.

It's been completely awesome being paired up with beldar; our writing styles and ideas melded well together, and I think we inspired each other to new heights... or maybe that was because both our asses were so recently on the line, who knows! Either way, I give him an A+!

Howdy-doo folks. It's finally FRIDAY!!! Woooo hooooooooo!

I'm so glad it's the weekend. Just a couple more hours here and then I'm free from this cubicle-bondage! Since I get off before pixie117 does, I'll get some entries read this afternoon... after that, we'll be heading out for some dinner and a movie... hopefully Insidious! I've been looking forward to that movie for a while now.

Since the feline companion usually wakes me up at 0 Dark-Thirty (even on the weekends), I'll knock out the rest of the entries tomorrow morning before the poll closes. Lots of good stuff out there!

Oh and despite what others are saying, MY intersection partner this round is the best ever. :-)

And I've gotta wonder if more intersection rounds are in our immediate future...
