This has been the calm before the storm as far as law school goes--classes are winding down, but exams will probably be nasty. I'm trying to return to my non-Idol writing, but haven't had much luck so far. I may just give into my itch and write something for the Home Game.

Man, I am nervous about LJ working tomorrow...I need sleep, but I also need to edit my entry...considering it came out really long, I really need to do some editing...but at the same time, I am worried LJ will be down and I only have a little time after work to finish editing and posting...

That being said, is it true that people really don't read the long entries? And how long is "too" long do you think?

Sheesh...now I am worried and stressed about it being too long!

I posted a 3,300 word entry (http://sketchybrunette.livejournal.com/677185.html) a few weeks ago and was SUPER nervous about it. I then constantly word counted everyone else's entries and found only one or two that were that long - most were about half as long.

If a story grabs me, I definitely read the whole thing, even if it's super, super long. I definitely have had a few "tl;dr" moments, but it was more because of the topic or content than the length itself.

I wrote a "thanks for the memories!" entry (http://sketchybrunette.livejournal.com/685320.html) but have been delayed in sharing it because of a busy weekend and then LJ having a tantrum.

Found out today that I'm probably having a tiny hand surgery in May, so I better get my ass in gear on writing my novel, lest I have trouble typing for a while after that!

Makes me glad I already got my entry in! 4th, too ;) But yeah, I'm worried that if people don't get their entries in early enough, LJ is going to crap out on them right when the deadline is. I'd hate to lose people that way. But it's totally why I plan to get my entries in ASAP! You just never know when technology issues are going to strike.

I've managed to get through a bunch of entries already, and commented on everything I've read so far, but LJ's issues have been in a pain in the ass when trying to reply to comments. I predict comments will be down on entries this week while people can't be bothered to sit through the issues in order to leave their thoughts. :/

What is this "down time" of which you speak? Monday was my first day back at work, and I had to get adjusted to a new time entry system, which despite doing the training several weeks ago was rather a headache. Oy! And I *still* haven't gotten an entry done (although it looks like quite a lot of us haven't) so I guess I know what I'm doing for lunch tomorrow, LOL.

Oh, and as regards my "Mirage" entry (re: the fitness ranch) I lost 8 lbs in two weeks, and lost a total of 9" between my boobs and my hips. W00t!

In my downtime, I'm wondering WHEN THE HELL THIS HEAT WILL END! It's 34C/93F today and I'm so, so over it. Apparently it'll rain by the end of the week, which we could really use.

Working and celebrating The Mothership's 81st birthday. Back in November, we didn't know how life might unfold, so it was quite a celebration.
Also, it's time to all do The Job Dance again! I have a third chance for a steady job with benefits for next school year. I'm going for it!

Today it's oil change for Eve-Ah (the nickname for our Prius) and fussing over my poor sick cheshire23 who has strep throat. She probably got it from Alex's class, although she has thankfully not caught it (yet), nor have any of us. So if any of you want to send her lovies, I'm sure she'd like it. :)

Day 3 in a row of waking up with a headache :( same headache bothered me off and on all week. It did get better with exercise yesterday, but when I laid down to sleep, it came back. If only I could be working out instead of working, my head would feel better.

I'm also very thirsty lately, so lots of water. Hope that helps...but if it doesn't stop soon, I'm starting to get worried...I've had problems in the past that were never clear, but scary...so send good vibes that it's not coming back again. I don't want to deal with being sick like that again :(

I still need to write my entry, and of course today would be the day of conference call hell for one of my jobs. It's gonna be close. I at least have my idea pretty well-formed in my head, which at least will make it a bit easier. The couple of times I've had absolutely nothing and only a couple hours to the deadline -- SO not fun times, lol. ;)

Down time? What is this down time of which you speak!? Last night at 9pm I realized that I hadn't drawn anything OR written anything! The boyfriend was here for a week, and while I enjoy him being here he really throws a wrench into my schedule. Long story short, I might have to drop out this week, unless I can get something banged out tonight in the hour and a half between my weekly dinner with friends and the turn in time.

I uh....am not going to hold my breath.

I have an epic, epic crush on a girl at work :D She has dimples and an Irish accent and today we had a conversation and OMG. *blushes* (Needless to say, girlfriend is very amused and luckily not the jealous type!)

I also totally agreed to go in two hours earlier than rostered tomorrow because cute girl is also working and otherwise, our shifts only overlapped by a paltry 15 minutes.
