Happy Valentines Day.

You know, the day of hearts and flowers and telling people you care about just how much they mean to you.

In other words, every day. Or at least that's how it should be.

But maybe it's good there's one day set aside to go a little bit overboard.

A day to put the everyday problems to one side and just concentrate on expressing that love that might sometimes go unsaid.

It's not just romantic relationships either. It's every time people get together.

So, this being that one day when it's deemed "OK" to go a little overboard, why not take a moment or two to let the people who matter to you know it.

Heck, tying this back into Idol - there's a vote going on, so that's something small you could do. http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/427510.html Or letting them know how much an entry meant, as a comment to that entry - or here in the Green Room, to encourage other people to check them out too. Showing that "love" isn't just for "real life" after all. :)

My husband got me these awesome sleeve things for Valentine's Day (anyone know what the actual fashion term for those is?) so this morning I put them on, attempted to dress up a bit like a pirate, and took photos to post to my LJ. I'm such a camera whore XD

I'm still working my way through reading entries. Haven't even voted for anything yet, though I have been poll watching. I'm usually more private with my telling people how much they mean to me, but at least I don't leave that love unsaid. I know how nice it feels to hear how much you mean to someone else.

I had NOT intended to be up this late! I have school tomorrow morning! But for some reason I didn't go to sleep when I was supposed to (oh right, those pesky Grammys), and now I'm wide awake. :(

That being said, fun stuff has happened over at my journal. I've posted a whole bunch of my own photography pics as possible downloadable desktop images. They're all 16:9 ratio and have been convinced to put up some as 16:10, which I'll be slowly editing them all so you have an option for either.

I saw the GR post and decided to get to a computer and really write a decent comment instead of just writing "first" and seeing if I could...

You're right about not going overboard on it. I no longer do. February 13th is the anniversary of my family's house fire, and honestly, it's never been the same for me since.

The weekend was wonderful and low-key with java_fiend. Just the way I like things nowadays. We saw a movie, had Ihop, went to the dog park with Annabelle twice (and today met up with some of my LJ friends, one of them for the first time since moving here). I think it was a perfect way to spend the holiday and wouldn't change a thing.

I'd love to see people spread some love in the GR. My list would be exceptionally long and I am almost afraid I'd leave people out...but maybe I can get in on it. This post has just gotten ridiculously long tonight. See why it's better if I use my phone? I talk to much otherwise!

But trust me, I like to show others that I adore and/or admire them, so chances are, you know. Heck, if you're even on my flist, I think the world of you or you wouldn't be there.

And Gary, I think you are a great person and I love everything you do for the community. You often get overlooked, but I appreciate you and everything you do!

I should be in bed already. Yikes. But I'm just not sleepy yet. Had a wonderful Valentine's Day weekend with the lovely pixie117 of course. Though our "real" Valentine's Day won't be until next Monday when I have soooooper seeekrit plans for her. :-)

I should probably try to force myself to get some sleep as 415 will be comin' real early tomorrow. And then it's back to the grind. Ugh.

Happy Valentine's Day! I've never been one for mushy sentiment. Sometimes I think I'm maybe a little too low key. I think actual support, lending an ear, and dropping one's defenses is more loving than a frilly card.

We're doing low key Valentine's Day here. Yesterday I made fresh marinara sauce and some yummy chicken legs (baked in butter/breadcrumbs/herbs/dijon mustard) and we had a little family dinner with the hubby and the kids and I. Today will just be a regular day, working and taking care of the kids. My mom bought chocolates for all the little guys, but she's working a double shift today, so I get to dole out the sweets after dinner. No gifts this year- we're way too broke!

I went up to where the SO lives over the weekend and we went to an art museum, did some thrifting, and made food for each other. It was really low key, which I appreciate, and didn't involve any sort of heart shaped boxes of chocolate, which I also appreciate. Especially since I'm very picky about chocolates.

Tonight I plan to go through and leave love for all of you guys in LJ Idol. Every single one of you deserves it for being consistently amazing enough to share your lives with the rest of us. I've learned a lot in doing this. I can't believe I didn't try before. So thank you. ♥

I appreciate low key too. My weekend was perfect and relaxed, no fancy stuff, just the two of is doing what we enjoy doing, which is simply hanging out really.

I plan on spreading some Idol love this evening. I hope to get to everyone. This contest has helped me learn so much and everyone in it is so completely awesome. I'm glad I might have some time to devout to reading and commenting now :)
