Before we get to the fun stuff, we of course have the usual round of business to take care of -

in this case, it's saying goodbye to two people who dropped, two people who were being mentioned as potential contenders from the ranks of the newbies: isis_lives and beyond_my_smile. Both whom ended up getting body slammed by Real Life. That evilest of villains.
There are no bye-outs this week! Congratulations everyone!

Sometimes things work out even better than they look on paper.

When I was planning this season out, I was looking at a the idea of a week involving a variable. I wasn't sure what it should be though. Obviously, it had to be something big enough to get people's attention. A look at the calendar helped me make up my mind.

Every year there ends up being a conflict between the people who love football and the folks who think that somehow if it wasn't around that more people would love Glee. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with high school still playing out.


Tomorrow (Sunday) is the Super Bowl. The biggest day in the NFL schedule. The one for all the marbles.

I set the variable to be held on Super Bowl weekend.

I never dreamed how well it would work out.

I, in general, like you. I want to see you do well. Because that's how I am.

kithan, on a regular basis, advocates mass eliminations and for people just to leave her alone. Because that's how she is.

I am a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She is a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan.

It was as though the universe peeked over my shoulder to take a look my my notes.

So here's the deal. If the Steelers win - I get my way.

No one is eliminated this week and the world is a good and just place.

If the Packers win - kithan gets her way.

And it's a double elimination - the two people at the bottom of the polls will be going home - in each tribe.

It's also a "friends only" vote this week, so you need to be a member of the community in order to vote! Just to make it a little more interesting! Oh, and of course what is a week in Idol without more tribe adjustments!

The poll will close Tuesday Feb 8th at 9pm EST. If there is no elimination there may be a special surprise. If there is one, well, then we will be saying goodbye to some people.

I wasn't too excited about the Super Bowl because I'd never root for either team normally...but I'm actually glad you made it a bit more exciting for me :)

We have a Super Bowl pool at work every year. I have never been one for football, even when it involves the Pats (because, hey, you always should root for your hometown team). In this pool I picked the Steelers. Which means...yes, I must have been reading Gary's mind!

Well, since there is nothing in this world that could get me to root for the Packers (As a Vikings fan, my 2nd favorite team is whoever is playing the Pack) I have been all about the Steelers winning for the past 2 weeks.

This just gives me yet another reason to root for the Steelers!

Not even that can make me cheer for the Steelers. The Packers are not only the better team, they're the one team that's actually owned by their community and not some rich fat cat.

I wish the NFL hadn't made it a policy to not allow community membership after the Packers. To me that's the best model.

I would hardly put the Rooney family, who have owned the team since the beginning and have maintained a great relationship with the city, under the "rich fat cat" banner though.

The only "bad guy" who could win is kithan.

Tribe 1 -- 16 live entries, 2 byes (18 total contestants)
Tribe 2 -- 16 live entries, 3 byes (19 total contestants)
Tribe 3 -- 16 live entries, 4 byes (20 total contestants)
Tribe 4 -- 30 live entries, 5 byes (35 total contestants)


Don't even need to do the usual reshuffling to show 'smallest to biggest' tribes according to live entries, lol, because the first three are tied and Tribe 4 is the biggest. Makes that easy. ;)

Gary called to tell me about this. I think he was hoping I'd be too high on painkillers after my surgery to care. He was wrong. There are very few things I care more about right now than when my next dose of Percocet is coming .. and one of them is the Packers. :-)

I felt exactly the same way when I got bumped just to Tribe 3 last week -- I was all "wait, what?! What just happened?!", lol. ;)
