We are heading, quickly, toward an Idol first. Something that I have been patiently waiting to unleash. Which is going to be awesome!

So, what have you found out this week? Other than how deep a snow drift can get? I hope all of you are safe and someplace warm. I know eventually you'll be getting that latter part handled! But hopefully not anytime soon!

I have found out:

1. I have the ability to catch a cold without managing to be around anybody sick-- or anybody at all, for that matter!

2. That Gary, you find new and interesting ways to worry me. "Idol first?" Oh dear. :/

I've found out that as soon as I plan on going to bed, a GR is bound to be posted to delay things. It's just how it is these days!

I also found out that I was in a magazine! Who knew?!? Okay, I did...but I didn't know what they would put about my blog. They actually linked it and praised it though! So that's exciting, even if it's only my national sorority's publication...it's still something :)

Happy Chinese New Year, folks! :D

My whole family besides me seem sick right now. We're debating whether to go back to Singapore tomorrow or just back home instead. I feel horrible either way because a) my family should probably go home and rest up but b) my friend in Singapore has already made up our rooms for us to stay in. We were in Singapore yesterday, though, and Universal Studios was pretty awesome. I like how you can do "child swap" for rides so parents with children too small for the rides can ride alone, then swap the riding for the looking after the kids so they don't have to wait in line as long again.

I have an idea or two for the prompt this week but not sure if I'll have time to type it while I'm down here. I do have my netbook though, so maybe. My fiction last week seemed pretty well received so that is where my ideas have gone this week too.

What have I found out? That watching videos on Facebook doesn't increase their view count on YouTube, and that I wish I could see who are the other 100+ people I don't know who are sharing my music video on Facebook. Pretty neat stats for a video I released just over 3 days ago. I mean, for me, that's neat. It's also up more than 150 views on YouTube since the release.

Wow. Child swap??? That could like never happen here. You try "child swap" and you either find your kid for sale on eBay or you go to jail! Sounds like a pretty cool system though!

So far I found out that we once again have food. Yay food!

As for this new thing? Just tell us and get it over with. Then we don't have to talk about it in the grams. That is what I say. Grin!

I recently discovered these "pill pocket" treats that are like little pieces of soft cat treat that you form around a pill then give to your cat. My cats are usually good about finding pills in their food and spitting them out, but they totally are fooled by this. I feel like I've won a small victory.

I've found out that the slot machines disdain me but love my husband, lol. Also, Vegas can be quite cold in February, it was in the 50's today and in the 30's this evening. Brrrr!

I found out that I hate Summer. HATE.

...Oh wait, I already knew that.

Seriously, though, the weather is going from one extreme to the next here. I would die for some snow right now. For realz. Send me some, people. Stop being selfish :P My poor dogs would love some, too, as they're struggling with the rising temps. I try to hose them down to cool them off, but they don't like being wet! I can't win.

What I did find out this week is that with such extreme temps, my brain shuts down and refuses to think because none of the ideas I have for this week's topic are taking form. I would hate to have to use my second bye after using my first last week :\ Think, brain, think!

Argh, the bad thing about having a day off in the middle of the week is that it throws your body clock into a tizzy. I'm a night owl by nature, so the night before the day off I try to stay up, get caught up reading entries, etc. Then I try sleeping in on the day off itself. That never works. And instead of going to bed at a decent hour, I end up staying up, like I did last night. So...I think I had maybe a scant 4 hours of sleep?

Plus I have to leave early for work. That four-letter word beginning with S is now nicely coated with the three-letter word starting with I. Whee.

I found out if I go to bed late three nights in a row, I get really, really, really tired and lack motivation to do much at all. Like now, for instance, I'm supposed to be creating some healthy meal for M and myself. Meh. Cannot. Be. Bothered. The children have had a peanut butter sandwich, fruit and yoghurt for tea. Exciting it was not - but generally healthy, I suppose.

I found out that my son was completely fine, going to kindy for the first time, and not at all clingy or upset as I'd thought he might be. Yay for that! It was also very weird being at a school where I wasn't part of the staff. Very weird.

I also found out that the birth centre where I'm having the baby does WATER BIRTHS!! So now I'm thinking about that...

I found out that I've reached a new record in words written on a project vs. time spent researching. I started my entry for this week and got 16 words in before I wandered off and started googling the clothing of Victorian middle classes. (Oh yeah, I googled it good.)

I used my last bye (maybe) for this week. It's not that the topic doesn't inspire --- I've a story I've wanted to tell for some time which fits admirably --- but the story I've in mind is intensely personal and I'm not certain I want to deal with the probable fall-out once it's posted.

Also, have a lot going on here. Dee goes in for surgery the 5th. They were going to wait until late March but the surgeon is afraid the scar tissue will cause a rupture.

Don't worry about his writing, though. The first thing he said to me was, "Make sure you pack the damned laptop and the Sprint card. I want to write. Remember, LJI deserves me!"

So...should I take my bye or not?

The story in question has been alluded to in several posts, but I've never told the full story. It involves my time with Model League of Arab States and how a Saudi Arabian princess and the son of Saddam Hussein overlooked cultural differences and put themselves at risk for me...because I'd attempted so thoroughly to understand their ways and their culture.
