Sure, it's the shortest month of the year, but it can also be the deadliest. Hope you make it out the other side!

and of course boll weevils.

You never know when they are going to show up and infest your entry! Or your office building. It's best if you leave out traps for them. Apparently the best way to deal with an infestation like that is treachery or at very least some version of a long con.

If you can set up a Ponzi scheme, boll weevils will fall right into your hands. If you set up a Fonzie scheme the chicks will fall into your hands, and you will gain the ability to jump over sharks. Which is always a useful skill.

Boll weevils infesting LJI entries is a scary thought. The female lays something like 200 eggs at a time. That's two for each of us. It's a cotton pickin' nuisance!

We used to go to a dive call Boll Weevils after work. They had sawdust on the floor, really cheap pool, and shitty beer. So, you know, it was pretty awesome.

I have no choice to venture to work because I am only 1 of 2 people scheduled for this morning. Besides, who will make the donuts?

They were saying on the news last night they're expecting Storm #1 to start anytime between now and 10AM. Anywhere between 5-10" of snow. Storm #2 starts sometime tomorrow morning, goes through Thursday, and has the potential to dump another 10-15", if not more.

I'm now having nightmares of my roof collapsing for some odd reason :shudder:

BTW, boll weevils are butt ugly. So are their faces.

Today is my long day at school. Woke up extra early to get the weather patterns for yesterday in Lima, Peru, as we're getting graded on our chart thus far in class.

I still haven't finished the reflections for my first two Labs, I hope that doesn't hurt me TOO much, and also curious to get back my "science in real life" lab and see what she thought of it.

Sooo yeah not too much going on with me. School, eat, sleep, rinse, repeat. The usual. :)

Sadly, I have. Long, long ago when I was in a social experiment called "high school," our football team (The Braves) regularly played Th Boll Weevils. Yep that was the mascot. We most frequently played them for homecoming because they sucked ass.

Oh man. The damage was done last night, and of course the weather is going to suck donkey dong the next couple of day. I managed to hurt my shins and only made it through about a half hour of capoeira last night before limping home in severe pain. Not quite sure the full extent. The motherboard and processor have arrived for the new computer, but no memory yet. It means though I can still build the thing even if I can't get it running yet.

Of course, the board I have is one that's affected by the recall, so I'll be rebuilding this box when replacements are available. But those should be free, and it's not like I wouldn't be tearing the machine apart for cleaning by April anyway.

Oh, and did I mention OWWWW.

I'm currently sick, so I haven't been doing very much reading--most of my energy is getting directed to law school and clinic. But I did read and comment on all of Tribe 4, and there were a lot of excellent entries! Unfortunately, I'm at a point where I don't know whom to highlight. If I highlight one person who I don't want to see go, does that mean another person whose writing I enjoy is going to go instead? Oh, Idol angst.

I did that once (the work thing, not jumping a shark.) It just didn't occur to me that businesses closed because of *snow*. I got up, tromped through 18" of pretty fluffy white stuff, opened the office and got the calling queues set up, all the usual stuff... and eventually realized nobody else was arriving. I then called the main number and heard the message that we were closed for the day. Whoops.
