Welcome back from your break! I hope the holidays were nice and that 2011 is treating you nice so far.

The contestants of LJ Idol have come up with some good news, and some bad news, for you.

The bad news is that the holidays are particularly rough, and always involve more than a little re-prioritizing for folks. That means we have some a group of talented people leaving us before this round even starts. They are:

The GOOD news is that we still have a ton of extremely talented people still around, this week writing about "First World Problems".

One of those just might be deciding who to vote for, but fortunately I have helped solve that by making sure that you can support as many of them as you want! So get out there, read, comment, and vote for your favorites!!

There are special powers in the game, as of the Break entries. The people who have them, and want to use them, need to notify me (and have confirmation that I received it) before the poll closes. The obvious exception to that is anyone who wanted to change tribes. Well, except stormkitty who decided to use her power right away!

She didn't know that they were shifting (for the most part, the old Tribe 7 is still intact, due to numbers, everything else was combined!)

The poll will be closing Tuesday Jan 11th at 9pm EST and the individual with the entry that receives the fewest votes in each tribe will be leaving us.

I would just like to say thank you for all the support I received as a n00b and an unknown. I went into the competition wondering whether I'd receive any votes at all, given that no-one knew I'd joined idol, so I couldn't count on votes from friends, and ended up being surprised at how many people took a chance on one of those scary alts that have been so much a topic of conversation over the last few days. So thank you to everyone who voted for me over the weeks I participated and thank you in particular to the people who went beyond that.

I'm bowing out, because the pressure of being in Tribe 7 eroded the fun factor for me, and there are enough other chores in life without making writing a chore! Hopefully I'll homegame it a little once I've recovered from the last few weeks of competition ^_^

Sorry to see all those who are leaving along with me.

I appreciate those who supported me in the early rounds, and I will keep reading and voting for those who are still in the competition. My head and heart have just been too scattered for me to concentrate on writing this season.

I did come up with a piece after the deadline, if anyone is curious, and if I get the inspiration to Home Game it in the coming weeks, I will do so.

Life just got super crazy. In the last week, I moved 700 miles to a new house, started a new job, and generally don't have the time I would want to devote to Idol.

I'm sad to be leaving the game but it can't be helped. My computer died this morning, and so I was forced to miss the deadline. The good news is that, thanks to a friend, a minor miracle occurred and my computer came back from the dead this evening. I've lost a lot of things- including the drafts for my novels- but I'm back on the internet and that's what matters to me.

The links for references I used in my LJI entry were fubar owing to a discrepancy in how my client posts and what actually goes to the journal. Double quotes from link codes were removed and they should work now. Sorry 'bout that!
