Green Room - Break - Day 9
Dec. 30th, 2010 07:51 amAs our break time starts winding down, New Year celebrations start winding up - and things are looking really tight over at http://community.livejournal.com/therealljidol/406872.html, I am reminded that what is to come in this "new year" is going to be shaped by how we end this one.
Not just in life. Although if you want to take "life lessons" from that - feel free.
Also - "Enjoy Every Sandwich". Zevon said it. I Believe it. Nuff said.
More to the point in our own Idol experience, this poll might not be to eliminate someone. But in it's own way, it will have the ability to shake up this competition. Not that some major shake ups aren't already going to happen over the next week. Because, oh yeah, they really are!! :)
But something tells me that when we look back over the course of the season, standing in the winner's circle, that this weeks events are going to factor in. (Maybe they benefited, and maybe they just overcame some adversity affiliated with it!)
Which is just another way of saying to make sure to read the entries and vote!!
***
While you are voting - remember to vote Happy Birthday to our own
apisanthrop,
shanns_ljidol and
abbismom!!
I'm not entirely sure that you really GET to vote on when their birthday is, or if it is going to be happy. But it doesn't hurt to try!!

So, how are you spending the last couple days of 2010????

Date: 2010-12-30 12:54 pm (UTC)But we decided not to come tomorrow, since everything is being locked down starting 1 p.m., even though we should.
And for us in Russia it's only the start of the winter vacation. We have days off till January 10th with the first working day on the 11th. :-)
So with work and NY party at work I regretfully had no time to write an entry for the free topic even though I'll try to read all of those that did. It's always toughest during a vacation :D

Date: 2010-12-30 01:03 pm (UTC)Also Happy Birthday to my hubby
:D
We're baking up a storm here since we have a party to go to on Saturday. I finally finished all the presents yesterday so I'm getting a chance to relax a bit. Other than that we're keeping pretty quiet here at Byrd Manor. :)

Date: 2010-12-30 01:04 pm (UTC)I work today and tomorrow, but we're off at 2 tomorrow and then we have Monday off, so it's not so bad. Just enough time to finish doing all my organizing for the new year.
OH MY GOD. SO MUCH TO DO.no subject

Date: 2010-12-30 01:38 pm (UTC)Tomorrow we are visiting a friend of my husband's from high school, maybe getting my eldest son's 4 year immunisations, and we have a NYE party to go to with some awesome friends who've planned a Firefly marathon. I've only seen the series once when I first met my husband, so that should be fun.
If I have time, I might try to draft a rather hard email that I've decided I probably have to write. :/

Date: 2010-12-30 01:52 pm (UTC)Working, working. I have a lot to accomplish today at work and very little motivation to do so. Perhaps another cup of coffee will help me get my ass into gear.

Date: 2010-12-30 01:53 pm (UTC)I've got a to-do list here with 31 checkboxes and only 15 of them checked. By the time I go to bed I need to check another three (and checking them without doing the stuff doesn't count and is cheating) just because of their time-sensitive nature (comic pages going up tomorrow) plus I'd like to get a piece of art I inked colored plus maybe write another chapter of what was my NaNo novel in November.
So normal lazy day for me. ;)
Better get cracking on stuff now. Already watched Ally McBeal with my breakfast and with lunch so that's like an hour and half of my day gone to recreation when I should be working. If I don't get started on coloring tomorrow's comic pages before the fiancé gets up I'm sure he'll have some choice words for me.

Date: 2010-12-31 08:41 am (UTC)The situation, shitty as it is, really wasn't his fault after all.
Granted, they won't know that until, like, the final chapter. >:-) Or at least the final showdown, which knowing me probably will drag out for ten chapters and be followed by three chapters wrapping things up.

Date: 2010-12-30 02:16 pm (UTC)Woke up late after not going to bed until nearly 4am. Oh, and with a hangover. But coffee's brewing and I got to be there for my 21 year old "niece" (BFF's daughter) to order her first Guinness at the pub. So, it's pretty much worth it. :)

Date: 2010-12-30 03:16 pm (UTC)I am spending the last days of 2010 as I have spent most of the last six months -- working. I like the extra money from my second contract job, but man, I am pretty tired of never doing anything except work, lol.
Oh well. It'll be over someday. I hope... ;)

Date: 2010-12-30 03:36 pm (UTC)I'm at work today, trying to cram in a few last tasks for the week. We're doing our annual NYE party tomorrow. Today we're going to move all the furniture in the basement to the garage to make room for the band. Should be a blast!
All in all, I think I'm really happy to say goodbye to 2010. Come on, 2011!

Date: 2010-12-30 04:27 pm (UTC)At work, it's a slow week with very few people in. That explains how I found time to write an entry after all. I just wrote it up on my phone and no one was the wiser because no one is here!
I'm sooooo excited for NYE with
Dedicating my weekend to the Appreciation of Rectangular Solids

Unpacking the boxes.
Life is boxes, and packing. Box-packing the packed boxes into a box truck and pack box packingbox pack. Box.

Date: 2010-12-30 07:54 pm (UTC)Yesterday my mom went home and today more company is arriving for the weekend. Much fun as far as we are concerned. Known this fellow for over 30 years now so good times will be had for sure.
And tomorrow night we are going to have a party to bring in the new year. Yay!

My Extra Entry
Date: 2010-12-30 09:52 pm (UTC)http://imafarmgirl.livejournal.com/971518.html
Happy birthday to the three people celebrating today. Having a birthday between Christmas and New Years seems like a great way to stretch out the celebrating.
I got to come home from work early today and that was definitely cause for celebration. I have tomorrow off.

Just goes to show we never know how we might have an influence on someone, huh?
