Howdy campers!

Wowee. It sure has been a long summer up here at Lake Idol. Lots of arts and crafts projects and archery - only that one kid drown in the lake, but I'm sure we've seen the last of him and his crazy mother. They sure did like hockey though didn't they? That was weird.

But ah what zany adventures! Who could forget the ice cream eating contest? Or the fishing championship? I'm really grateful that our head counselor, Tripper, was able to organize such fun events for everyone! Especially the gopher hunting while searching for his son in Tokyo. That was really inspired! Let's give him a big hand!

Yeah...we're still waiting to see if we'll get the bloody house (got an appraisal done and asked bank to lower price, if they lower the price, we plan to get it. If not, we're not going to pay $10,000 more than it's worth)

Hi!

Our internet was down from Wednesday evening and all of yesterday, due to severe weather. Which included TORNADOES! That's right, Maine had THREE tornadoes touch down on Wednesday night. Crazy.

Also, have discovered that being back in Maine has increased my mead consumptions exponentially. Huzzah.

Today is picnic day! I'm having a picnic with one of my favoritest people. Now with more fun and adventure!

And, I've decided to start gauging out my ears! Woo!

There's going to be a lot of reading for me to do this week. Oy vey. On the plus side, I saw my own entries pop up a couple times on the favorites lists of Home Gamers and it made me feel awesome. Thanks guys. I'll have to read and comment more systematically this weekend, but thanks for the smile-making.

I used to love summer camp - I started going to day camp when I was 3-1/2, and sleepaway camp for the WHOLE SUMMER (8 weeks) starting at age 10-1/2 until about age 16-1/2. When I was 19 I got a job at my first day camp as a counselor with the 4-year-old group, and did that for two summers - tons of fun!!

Well, except for the few kids that weren't *quite* potty trained yet, LOL.

Anyway, I'm glad it's finally FRIDAY.

Currently, I take care of a childrens camp and camp is in session....though I only went to summer camp once as a child.

I went away to nerd camp instead and stayed in dorms and studied things like Shakespeare and Acting. The only similarity is that we didn't have air conditioning in the dorms. And we had silly activities like swing dancing lessons and stuff like that.

Not sure why I felt the need to share my summer "camp" experiences. Oh well :)

Greetings, gorgeous peeps! I just got back from a morning run, and now the housecleaning begins. Sandi's dad and stepmom are coming. For two weeks. Uggh.

Can't wait!

Hope all are well. I've been reading as I can. I have had a far less internet-y summer than I'd thought, which is mostly good, but I miss y'all.

So we're both in the same cleaning predicament :) My in-laws are arriving in a few hours. Yet, I still haven't picked my sick, lazy ass up off the couch.

I need to get on that. Or OFF that, as it were.

Enjoy the visit. My in-laws are only staying 3 days. They are wonderful people, but I don't think I'd want ANYONE staying with me for two weeks.

I've been out of the loop for a while, but I'm trying hard to get back in and read up. I have to say, I'm not filled with envy for the five-topic week! It's like a weird pseudo-deja-vu with all the old topics coming back around, too! It's messing with my head! (Or it's the percocet. Whatevs.)

I had to go rooting through old emails because I was getting disappointed that none of the topics I recommended ever came up. Then I realized *I* was the asshole who put "Back in the Habit" out there. (When I saw that one I was all, like, "wtfbbq, yo?")

I would have totally remembered if Gary had gone with "I keep forgetting to put Raiders of the Lost Ark on my iPod." That could have been epic!

I am completely embarrassed over the topics I put out there. I put about 3 seconds of thought into them, I think because I was emailing Gary right before the voting deadline....:P It's part of the reason I don't want to be eliminated, I think.
