Honestly I'm not even sure what to say. The whole "thank you for helping to make this a wonderful season" thing is certainly true. But I don't think it goes far enough.

I knew pricelessone's stuff from last year, but I think she really stepped up her game this season.

twistersflower was a complete find. I think sometimes even to herself. I'm not entirely sure she knows how good she is and can be.

superhappytime though. He started off slow, but I saw him starting to pick up steam over the last couple of weeks, and although he was a long time favorite of veterans, he was starting to pick up more attention from the newbies. I was thinking that he could finally be the guy to break that glass ceiling.


I really hope that we will continue to see the three of you around Idol proper - and WELCOME TO THE JURY, where you will be deciding on who gets immunity! So you will very much be involved in helping to shape where this thing is going.

Oh man. I really had superhappytime pegged as not just a potential Top 10 contender--but as someone I personally wanted to see in the Top 10!

I guess it goes to show there's no telling what will happen.

I also think that pricelessone stepped up her game throughout this season. I know that I saw a lot of growth in her work. I loved how she entertained me and informed me, often at the same time.

And twistersflower really showed me how it was possible to do the variations on a theme thing well--turning over the same general experience to look at the layers and twists of perspective.

It's crazy because at this point, the people who are leaving every week are people I can not only remember, but remember many distinct entries from, and in all three cases, are people who stood out to me early in the competition. And not to single superhappytime out or anything, but Gary, as a newbie, I do have to say he's been on my list of must-reads since the beginning.

I feel the exact same way, word for word (including your comment about superhappytime). I'm not around much anymore, but I do still read and vote, and just - damn. It's hard to see some good writers, and friends, leave.

It's been a great competition this season. My goal coming into this was to last until Week 18, which was when I joined the Home Game last season. To outlast my goal by seven weeks the first time out feels pretty good. Thank you to everyone who has read and voted, and to clauderainsrm and cacophonesque for the sweet compliments!

Oh no, my Valentine partner :( I am really happy that I got to work with superhappytime even if we didn't actually have to work with anyone that week. He is truly a gifted writer and was great to work with. I honestly had him pegged as going into the top 10 as well...so yeah, this is a bit of a surprise.

Honestly, I wouldn't have been surprised if any of the three went to the top 10. They were all truly gifted writers. It is really sad to see them go :(

I'm offended by this. Starting off slow is not accurate. What it should say is "he started using only the votes people would give him that didn't require asking or posting a reminder every single week, and he finished it that way, too."

In conclusion, I am Rupert. Everyone else is Russell, winning at all cost, and all too happy to say "nobody gives a damn about you or your way." And Gary is Jeff Probst....

It is solely because I am watching Survivor:Heroes vs Villains to see what all the fuss is about that I have the faintest idea what you're talking about. So now I'm really glad that I decided not to mention the poll this week and take my chances :oP

Seriously, mate. I never thought that I'd ever see a season of Idol where I'd outlast you. You know my opinion of your writing and you are one of my favourites. I do think you kept a much lower profile this season than in the past but your writing was still amazing (as if it could be anything but).

Perhaps "low key" would be a better way of describing your approach than starting out slow. But in comparison to previous seasons there were times when I was honestly about to check for a pulse!!! :)

:( I am just getting around to the internet this weekend, and I am so, so bummed to see superhappytime's name there. I loved his raucous tales - they rocked my socks. And dude, who doesn't hate Glen Beck?!? Clearly the poll had a conservative bias!!!!

I am also bummed to see twistersflower and pricelessone go. pricelessone really made me think about accessibility, and twistersflower shared some amazing pieces of her life.

I am so pleased to have met the three of you through the competition, and I have really, truly enjoyed your writing. I am so bummed by the results.

I liked all three of these writers, I voted for all three of these writers this week, and I am sorry to see them go.

I've enjoyed pricelessone's clean, fluid prose and the way her stories made me think. twistersflower has a wonderful sass in her voice that keeps me reading. superhappytime is a master craftsman with his words; I love his crisp, rich sentences, his unapologeticness, and the power and impact he gives to his writing.

Please don't be strangers, y'all.
