I am tired and waiting for Friday. WHY IS IT NOT YET FRIDAY?!!?

I have a taco for lunch, along with some greens, snap peas, fresh strawberries, and yoghurt raisins. I was apparently in a really weird mood packing my lunch last night! But you guys are welcome to that. :P

Hello from Myrtle Beach! I got to pet a young tiger yesterday and have my photo taken with him (or her?) on our lap - the tiger was young enough that it was still being bottle fed, but old enough that it took up BOTH our laps, LOL! When I get home Monday evening, I'll scan in the photo to share! =)

Today we're heading off to Brookgreen Gardens (per Pixie's suggestion) as soon as we go get some foooooood. TTFN!

Today = BAD

My husband was snooping and read my Idol entry yesterday. Ouch. Let's just say it has moved things along faster than I thought, but I honestly think it is for the best.

And I feel weird saying it, but I am completely fine. More than fine actually.

The rear brakes on my truck are toast. The power steering is close to being toast, but the mechanic said I could get away with it a little longer than the brakes.

Yuck- car repairs always stink. I had to replace all of my tires this year and I'm hoping that will get me through to the winter at the very least.

Insanely busy here.

Monday my girlfriend took a trip to insanity town and got admitted to the VA. She is still there.

Due to that, I ended up being off work Tuesday and Wednesday, Tuesday because I needed a mental health day and needed to clean my house for the realtor coming by on Wednesday, and Wednesday because I was insanely stiff and also had a doctor's appointment with the weight loss folk.

Tonight I will be working late both to catch up from being out for two days but also because there are some work-related/high profile crises afoot.

Tomorrow my friend and I will be painting the room the realtor wants us to have done by the 15th. Tomorrow night we leave to meet my mother in Greensboro so that we all can drive 8 hours to Tennessee on Saturday for the bridal shower for my brother's fiancee. We'll head back on Sunday.

And next week is shaping up just as busy...

Been downtown today, for some job hunting activities, and realized that little have changed since the days when someone drove up with a truck saying 'hey, we need 20 daylaborers today, the first ones in the truck gets the job.' Except that it's sponsored by the state. Oh election year, when everybody is desperate to get the unemployment statistics down.

Also, bought a ton of beer in preparation for Metal Authors Fest II. I will finally get to meet a lot of hardcore internet peeps I've only read about. I predict hangover by sunday.

People drive up my street looking for daylaborers every day, but that's just the neighborhood I live in. I almost with I could do the same thing- stand on a corner and get met by paying clients who need legal advice!

Today is rough. My mom is going for surgery shortly. If everything goes smoothly she might get to come home by tomorrow. If not, she'll be in the hospital through the weekend.

On the bright side, I think I've found a couple of options for someone to watch the kids tomorrow while I go to my important doctor's appointment. At least one of those options should work for me. It will all depend on what happens with my mom today.

Blurgle?

Oh man. My morning here at work has been crazy busy.

Yesterday after work I met up with my friend's ex for coffee and chatting. It was a nice time, because he's good people. But, it was also weird because she wants so much to get back together with him and it's a big old mess. And trying to help her out has been a huge energy drain (also, I'm finding out that she has gone out of her way to be dishonest with me and other friends, which makes me feel less like being helpful and supportive). BLAH.

However, I was also reflecting on all of the positive (though sometimes scary) changes I'm trying to make in my own life... and thinking about how my Idol friends have been around with care and support through this transition. That's pretty cool. Thanks guys!

S.H.I.T. folks... (Sure Happy It's Thursday)

The Good = Leftover carne asada and spanish rice for lunch. Yum.

The Bad = Deliberating going to the doc to have my knee checked out. Seems years of running into and through things has taken a toll and it's been hurtin' something fierce the last couple of weeks. My fear is that he's going to want to cut on it which will seriously screw up the start of next season. And me no likey missing games.

The Ugly = BP, Halliburton and all of those fu**ers trying to minimize their responsibility and liability for the catastrophe they caused in the Gulf of Mexico. All because of simple greed. Soulless bastards.

The sad part is that OPA 90 gave the oil companies and shipping companies the ability to shirk their own responsibilities. It's the US government that will wind up paying for most of the clean-up by virtue of the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund reimbursing the companies for the money they spend on clean up. In other words, WE the taxpayers will be paying for this mess and not BP or Halliburton.

I have submitted final grades, planned and delivered a full day faculty workshop for next year's freshman seminar instructors, and whittled down the number of graduating senior portfolios I have to read to one.
