There is one thing that I want to make very clear and hope everyone is paying close attention, because I'm only going to say this once. . .

Congratulations on there not a single automatic elimination this week!!


Someone wondered when that was going to happen. Apparently that "some time" is now.

So before we get to the poll - GREAT job! It probably should be less of an "yay" and more of a "damn straight" at this point. But Real Life has a way of sneaking up on you.

I think the voters are going to have a fun couple of days in front of them.

Let's add to that fun though!

Because I certainly hope no one thought that I would be throwing the newbies to the wolves. This week they have immunity. Except gratefuladdict who declined to accept it.

Especially the one true newbie in the mix, I wasn't going to let him only have 1 week in Idol before risking rejoining the Home Game!! As of next week, they're fair game!! ;)

Being near the bottom just got *a whole lot scarier*.

So if you want the contestant's who wrote your favorite entries of the week to stick around for next time, I suggest that you support them!!

The chance to show that support will close Saturday Feb 27th at 1pm EST. The bottom two vote getters, without immunity, will be eliminated.

oh and also it's funny. aren't I really the only newbie as for as this season. everyone else is returning (i think). i was worried about a bloodbath! it's crazy coming in to the game at this stage. i've felt very welcomed however. i know a lot of great people are gone... i'll try and be a great addition i promise... swear on my tuba! lol

I'm torn about the immunity, but this time I will take it and will be grateful for it. Grateful, with a bit of shame mixed in.

I thought my entry was really good this time around... until my spouse read it and pointed out that I am starting to repeat myself. The same theme in this week's entry was cited by me in this season's topic "The Better Half" and last season's "A Moment of Bliss".

Had it been a deliberate stringing together of narrative, like one of jack_batelin's tales, it would have been all right. But for me to simply forget that I'd addressed my accident in a topic a mere six weeks ago.... lazy, lazy writing.

I may have an ego the size of a planet, but even I can see that some part of me coasted this week.

I didn't take marjory up on her sacrifice offer to return me to therealljidol just so that I could write half-assed automata.

I will do better next week, or you will vote me out if I don't. I am ashamedly grateful to *have* the one more week to fail or to stretch myself out of this complacent rut.
