I wrote my entry IN MY MIND this morning at about 3 AM. Alas, no in-mind keyboard, so now I have to actually sit down and commit it to, uh, electrons.

In other news, Bob's Red Mill 10-grain pancake mix contains chunks of wood and gravel. At least that's how they taste. Flannel too, I think.

And Portland is SUNNY today. SUNNY WEEKEND.

I repeat - PORTLAND IS HAVING A SUNNY WEEKEND. Not so common this time of year.

There are comment threads for every member of LJ idol. You can leave comments as replies. They will be screened, until you comment to every single person. The idea is that some people were upset that on all the memes and meta conversations, the same ten or so people get most of the comments. This was to encourage people to compliment people they might not think of leaving compliments for most of the time!

I made some raisin bread french toast for breakfast this morning - yum! Right now I'm just chilling out on the sofa watching TV and catching up with my FB games, LOL. Then it'll be a trip out to WalMart to pick up a few random things, then a drive-by to pick up a Frappuccino, maybe some off-line reading for a change, possibly a movie with the hubby this evening.

Basic stuff. :)

Is it just me, or is there a shopping bug going around lately. I've been spending money lately at a crazy rate, and while it's on things that I need and at great clearance or sale prices (so I'm paying about 75% of what I would have), I still feel guilty for spending money. And a good portion of my friends have been doing the same.

How about you guys? What have you spent money on lately?

For me it was clothes (first wardrobe update in 10 years, and first one ever that wasn't almost entirely from Goodwill!), and some books (even though most are for teaching homeschooling).

I do know that feeling. Again, all for necessities, like new dress pants for my partner for interviews, and additional shelving for our storeroom, but I'm so used to living close to the bone that spending ANYthing beyond grocery money makes me twitchy.

Nothing really new here, really just status quo, after a particular situation getting my boy's and my hopes up all week and coming to naught.

Woke up at 7am without aid of alarm clock, got a REALLY sweet mix going on Pandora Radio, went shopping, got Subway... and now I need to clean the house! :D Get it ready for a roommate to move in.... *grumbles*

I *was* going to write an entry on 'radial' (started last night but was too tired to continue), I *was* going to wrap up translations, I *was* going to relax because I'm running on way too few sleep ...

But SO decided to attack the mould on the wall in our bedroom/office (there's a leak and landlord is taking ages) ... and it turned out to be way more than we thought so he panicked and I - who wasn't supposed to go near it because I'm deadly allergic to *some* mould - ended up calling his mother to help me move stuff around so I could get at everything and she cut away the wallpaper and now all is well.

I did get a much better organised corner in the living room for my work out of it, so I guess not all is bad!

What *was* pretty bad was the shelf I bumped into my forehead and the book that fell on my head (with a corner of course!) from ceiling-height (Homer's Odyssee, </3). Thinking inspiration on what to write for the new topic, thinking I really should finish that entry on radial even if nobody will read it, and thinking that I have a whole lot of comments to answer to and a post to write and ... zzzzzzzz

My apartment is clean, also just got help going through household things and got rid of five trash bags of things. Yay.

Second load of laundry is washing.

I've been up since four thirty, noisey neighbor.

Plus doctor thinks I have kidney stones or something like them so ouch. I should stop lifting things and go to take a nap because 1, ouch, and 2, I'm tired now.

Oh, kidney stones are no fun, but nap is heavenly! And go you on the cleaning! We took 7 bags of trash out of the oldest's bedroom last Sunday. She is a packrat of the worst kind - she even saves food wrappers. Eww. I think I'm going to go do some cleaning in my room now that you've inspired me... (darn you for inspiring me!)

zia_narratora and all the others, that is truly amazing of you guys! I had been trying to think of some way to make everyone feel appreciated, but that is much better than anything I was coming up with.

I am going to go through and try and leave something positive about every single person. I truly believe everyone that is still in the game so far are here because of their talent (ok, maybe not me, that is pure luck :-p)

I just hope the weekend doesn't get too busy and I can do this, I truly have something nice and sincere to say about everyone, it is just that the weather is so beautiful here that I think it is time for my poor puppy dog to get to go to the park for a little bit...

I wish I had more hours in the day!

Went to see "Shutter Island" for the second time last night and it was even more fabulous. I'm pondering whether to get a babysitter and take the husband to see it so I can watch it a third time. By far and away my favourite film of many years.

For once I have multiple ideas for the topic and I'm struggling to pin it down. Normally sleeping on it makes me decide but I'm still undecided. I'll give a first draft a bash later today.

i've seen previews of "shutter island" and it looks really good. i'm a dork, my sister is in nursing school and for clinicals at some point they are going to observe at a mental institution. when told me all i could say was "lucky!"

Just got home from shopping at Harbor Freight for tool stuff for John and then lunch at Moe's. I need to go into the studio and make up for taking yesterday off (deadline looms) but I'd really rather just take a nap.

It's a beautiful day today up here in Maine... But perhaps not so beautiful that I should be sitting outside with no mittens. Ah well. Could be worse.

Tomorrow I head back to NYC and I'm not ready! Soon hopefully I won't have to leave anymore.
