I got the last of the entries read last night and am getting ready to send you my votes.

And, the medicine my doctor has me on is helping. I'm waking up easier and for the first time in months I can curl my toes without pain.

meh....it's Friday and I'm happy about it...

Really hates the job we're doing (cannot access personal emails or LIVE JOURNAL from work...boo hoo!!) plus the work puts me to sleep...it's boring...I can see why the previous person didn't finish or do the work.

I'm looking forward to a nice quiet weekend - cause the next several won't be....

I just returned to the mainland! Rode the ferry for an hour and a half this morning. Spent the night on North Haven at my friend's house. It was gorgeous.

Still processing last night's announcement and trying to decide if I want to do it.

Other than that, I'm about to head out the door to go spend the whole day with my beautiful, funny, and very smart niece who turns 13 next week. This is a day for just the two of us and once I pick her up, we're heading to a tea place to have a high tea lunch. Then we're off to the manatee viewing center right down the road from my house (lived here nearly 3 years and still haven't been) for the afternoon. I have to have her back home by 4pm so her sperm donor worthless father can decide if he's going to come pick her up for his weekend or not (chances are good he'll be late like always). But, the bulk of the day will be ours. :) She's such a good kid and I hate living far enough away that we don't get to see each other as often as we'd like. But when we do, I get to be the cool aunt and take her to fun places.

Aw, that sounds like so much fun. My brother is 13, and he just sent me a poem he wrote about who people assume he is, versus who he is on the inside. It's a fun age.

I would say TGIF, but I have a late dinner with my in-laws this evening so... well, YOU KNOW.

My husband and I decided that we'll make an offer on a house by Sunday. Only my husband would look at our finances, do some quick math and tell me, "You know... we can buy a house right now." Some people take months or years to look. We apparently take two weeks. Not that I'm complaining - it's a great problem to have!

Other than that, I'm looking forward to meeting up with my running group tomorrow AM. I have not logged *ANY* miles since Saturday and my body and mind feel so BLUUUUUUUUURGH.

I envy you! Our house hunt took about 4 months, and we had two offers fall through before we got the house we did. Of course, one of the two is now a foreclosure listing for less than half what we offered on it 3 years ago...so yeah, probably just as well.

Back at work after almost a week off! Gettin' things organized, have a HUGE pile of submissions on my desk! Wow.

The Sacrifice thing is realy exciting to me! I don't know if this is kosher to say at all, but if anyone has been thinking of dropping out due to time commitments or getting bored or anything like that and wants to use the sacrifice but doesn't have a person in mind, I can think of a couple people who would probably LOVE an opportunity to get (back?) into the game but who wouldn't want someone who is enjoying themselves to give up their spot. If you're weighing whether to use the sacrifice-- only if you were thinking about dropping out anyway, mind-- but don't have anyone in mind to use it for, drop me a line?

TGIF!! This week has crawled by, probably because I am excited that my parents are coming to visit me. They live in California, and I hardly ever get a chance to see them. My dad just retired over the summer, so now they definitely will be able to travel more, which is great. It's hilarious, when I was younger, if someone had told me that I would grow to miss my parents when they weren't around, I would have laughed my ass off. But it's true. I have a pretty darned good relationship with them now. So yay, I get to see them tonight!

And this sacrifice business is very intriguing!

Good morning! This is my least stressful day this week! I am still feeling exhuberant over yesterday, though.

Anybody wanna come help me paint? I've never painted (a wall, though I'm okay with a canvas), and I'm nervous I'm going to screw things up somehow. :/

I'm glad I found more socks in my drawer this morning, since you knocked my other ones clear across the room last night with that whole "Sacrifice" thing... not that I didn't suspect something was up, but still!

I love these socks - they've got 4 cats on them, two lying down and two sitting up. The bold text reads, "Simon says - Come!" and then there is lighter text that reads, "Yeah, right!"

Really, I own some of the cutest socks in existence!

After a semi-crappy day yesterday, I'm running a little behind but doing OK. And ready for the weekend...sort of. I was going to put out more details, but that would compromise my relative anonymity. :) So: annoying relatives (mine), pouty moods (also mine), and a slight promise of fun with friends on Sunday.

Also, I'm choosing not to worry about the elimination. Wouldn't do me much good, and not worth it in my current temperament.

I've certainly been better. I just found out my boyfriend will be moving to Australia in two weeks for a phD program, so I'm pretty bummed out about that but we're going to take a shot at a long distance relationship because we both feel that we need to.

Other than that, I should be getting a hefty tax return next week and I am no longer broke as I got paid today. I was pretty broke; I had 1 cent in my checking acct and 12 dollars in my savings acct :/

My current girlfriend and I did a 2000-mile difference for quite a while. We did "Wednesday mail," where every Wednesday we packed a bunch of goofy stuff into a flat-rate priority mail box and sent things to each other... little things like receipts from the store, a flower from the yard, a book we just finished, whatever. I SO looked forward to that box each week.

I am super anxious to see the votes tonight. Anything can (and will) happen in this game, and I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot of surprises when those votes come in. I'm just glad I am going to be staying busy so I don't have to constantly worry about it.

Today, I have to finish my English homework, get started on a French paper, and maybe work on a Creative Writing story. Then at 7, I am going to a conference about Afghanistan, Pakistan and India that is going to take me through the whole weekend. So I am going to be super busy.

At least I have my music to entertain me as I do my boring homework!

SO glad that it's Friday. Now it's on to the possibly-sunny weekend (yikes!), watching a shit-ton of season 3 of Lost, snuggling my baby, and then med refills on Monday to make the week go a little easier.

I have to admit, I'm really intrigued by the whole sacrifice thing. My giving side is at war with my chickenshit side. haha
