This was a rather unpleasant surprise to wake up to. :p

That and the fact that my host's cat got into her roses last night and I ended up waking up early to help clean up the mess.

Been having fun up in Maine, though. Have had adventures, been eating amazing food, and been in good company.

I'm still flummoxed by the way voting is being done this week and have resigned myself to the fact that if it's my time, it's been a fun ride.

Now I need to start laundry before heading into the studio to get work done. The to-do list is really long today. I need to finish up another pattern to release and finish up ideas to submit to another yarn company. Lots to do!

Still making my way through the entries and cursing Gary for the evil, tricksy monkey-wrench he threw at us last night. Gah!

In honor of Mardi Gras, I shall be making some Jambalaya tonight, flashing my... errr... booobies(?) at passers-by and sticking pins in my Gary voodoo doll all day!

I just feel too damn chipper this morning... must go down a couple cups of coffee to settle my happy ass down.

MORNING, YA'LL!

Apparently we had a 2 hour delay today (again!) but no one in my office (or in DC for that matter) seemed to notice. After working from home two Fridays ago and being off last Monday - Thursday with half a day on Friday, I was certainly ready to get back to work. Thankfully I got through my 400 emails this weekend; so hopefully I can be productive today!

Got my ballot in last night - there were so many great entries to choose from that it was hard to vote!!!

Buuuuuuuut I thought that it was ironic that this week had the most intersection-ish type entries AND we didn't even have to do it. Gary's such a trickster ;) but I love it!

So, I'm a littlelot freaked out about voting, as I'm not ready to leave the group quite yet. Friday seems like a long, LONG time to have to wait. But seeing as there is no other choice, I shall randomly flail about and somewhat bitch about my nervousness instead :)

In other news, I shall - in about 2 hours - be attached to a 72-hour EEG to see if it picks up any seizure activity in my brain. So for once, I can honestly say that I hope I have a damn seizure in the next 3 days so it can be diagnostically seen and properly treated. That would help one of my diseases, and I REALLY want that help (especially after I had a massive seizure while in the hospital - on the same night I wrote my LJ Idol post, actually. Weird timing...)

Funny how Friday is such a big day: LJ Idol voting results AND getting the EEG removed. Oh, Friday. Why must you be so very far away?

I was thinking of pulling together a rec list as usual, then wondered if anyone would care to see it/read it, given the voting this week.

I have a busy week ahead, which is pretty good. Court tomorrow, 504/IEP meeting Thursday...I will be glad when Friday gets here, and hopefully distracted enough by all my other stuff to not worry over this too much.

I think we will have to go out to celebrate if I survive this week,though.

I am sort of curious about how people are approaching the voting this round. I don't know if anyone else will be comfortable in discussing their general method/approach--but if so I'd love to hear it!

For me, I plan to fill up all 50 of my potential slots. This may or may not be a good strategy, but there are definitely 50 people in the competition from whom I'd like to see more! I feel like this week I'm actually being more liberal in my voting, because there are so few of us. So I guess I'm approaching this as a chance to declare my personal Top 50.

Anyone else doing this? Anyone think I'm crazy? Anyone have some other way?

I made a list of the entries I loved this week. I didn't make it a goal to get to 50.

I wound up voting for less than 50, but I'm comfortable that the ones I voted for were my favorites for the week.

I'm glad you asked this, because I wasn't sure if most people were going to try to fill up the 50 slots or not. So I'm curious to see how other people answer.

I should say that even during the other rounds, I generally do not vote for 50+ entries. So I used the same voting strategy I would have otherwise used.

Phew. Just finished my voting. I was pretty selective this time around, so I ended up only voting for about 41 people, but the 41 people I chose I'm really confident in and would love to see more writing from.
