My Idol post is up, my lovely partner's post is about to go up, and I'm sitting here, stuck in my house thanks to 28 inches of snow that came down upon us in 24 hours.

That's all fine and well, except for the fact I spent all of yesterday - when the snow started in earnest - in the ER, diagnosed with pylenephritis (a severe kidney infection) and four new ovarian cysts. The cysts are just annoying and painful, but I have a form of Lupus, so, Lupus + kidney infection = very very bad for Mandi. But I'm now on drugs and basic bed rest and am just trying to ignore the pain by reading LJ Idol entries, screwing around on Facebook, and bitching about the snow :)

So for me, it's Saturday night fighting (against my own body) AND, thanks to infection, Sunday Bloody Sunday (you can thank me later for the disgusting image of my kidneys and such bleeding). w00t(?)

Actually, I'm kind of thankful that the fighting has ceased here. Once I accepted Lethargy has a right to have its voice heard, after constantly being shouted down by Hyperactivity, it's been much more peaceful.

My Intersection Buddy and I are still working on our entries of epicness! But I only have three panels in my comic to go so my part will probably get done tonight. It took a lot of intense research into the use of federal stimulus money to fund scientific projects because I am doing current events. Whew!

Also I have a delicious cocktail made with chocolate bitters.

A little busy, a little relaxing, no fighting. Saturday night's alright, except hubby has a cold. Overextended ourselves at the grocery store, buying indulgent things we didn't really need, like Pop Tarts and Jones Soda and Stoneyfield Soy yogurt. Looks like a cozy night reading Idol and chatting (and eating Pop Tarts!)

Hi Green Room. I have been having the suckiest few days OF MY LIFE, so I'm all blue.

I was just thinking that I should to take a minute to thank Gary for ALL the hard work he puts into the game. Gary, you change and touch lives in ways you probably don't even know and I think that kind of special is so rare, that I wish there was more of it around!

:struggling to stay upright:

Attended my first ever NBA game last night! The Celtics won (which was the important thing), but the game itself was yawn-inducing. The kids who played court during halftime had 1000 times more energy!

I'm operating on 2-1/2 hours of sleep. I want to lie down, but if I do, I'm out for the night.

It's been raining on and off here all day... lots o' productivity early. Had to run to drop off a gift this morning, had an appointment, ran a few errands and then had to take my car down to be serviced and get the brake pads replaced... now I'm home and locking things down for the night... no fighting scheduled... just some downtime I've been craving like mad. For which the feline is apparently thankful... likely because I'm close at hand to serve his every whim.

I'm frustrated. This is the first time I've done a job search and found that I'm either vastly overqualified or underqualified for every position I find.

My husband took our three year old to see a production of Cinderella at the library, which was adorably cute, sending them out for a little special event :) My son has retired peacefully into his crib. Now I'm debating whether to continue my long overdue trip report or just lay in bed and rest.

My LJ is suffering from a problem which apparently is affecting NZ users and means I can't view it properly and everything takes forever to load, so I haven't been as prompt at replying to comments on my Idol entry as I normally would be, so apologies to everyone who's said something - I'm not ignoring you, it'll just take me half an hour to respond to everyone as opposed to five minutes! Hopefully normal service will be resumed shortly - it's been going on for two days now and if it's not fixed by the time the polls go up, I could have fun attempting to read everyone...

Other than that, I have managed to sort out a major niggle with Fey Publishing which makes me VERY happy and I have loaded the dishwasher, done a load of laundry, changed the bedding for the two children who had accidents last night and purchased a car seat for no. 4 - the one we had that saw the first three children has given up the ghost and she really was way too big for the baby seat. This should see her and no. 5 until they don't need them any more. And I also fell in love and bought no.5's first outfits. They'll be in hand me downs most of the time but the first thing they wear has to be new. I've given up on the romanticism of newborn sizes because I have monster babies and he jolly well better be a boy because these are really cute boy's jump suits! One's brown with a raccoon embroidered over the bottom and the other is white with blue stars on the sleeves and looks a little like a duffle coat down the front.

I would also urge everyone to buy Allie (aka darkprism)'s book, "In Darkness and Light" - it's such a good read and you get to find out what happened next after some of her cliffhangers. www.fey-publishing.com

Aww..for the baby clothes:) First outfits are fun. Will you have a scan that might show the gender before birth? My sister chose not to but I am always curious what my friends are having:)

It was a mostly quiet day. I had to get up early (boo!) and take the boys to school for a make-up day, so I had the morning to myself. I indulged in grocery shopping by myself (ooh), working my Idol draft without interruption (ahh), and the zen of laundry. I also napped. Tonight we all went bowling and I won with a score of 91. D:

I am really quite tired of the cold.... and I'm off to try to finish the 2nd draft I owe rivermirage.

I've been trying to write my LJ Idol entry all day today, but it's just not coming out the way I planned and it's very frustrating. It's especially nerve-wracking because I have to send my entry to my partner and have her go over it before tomorrow, because that's the last day she'll be able to post hers. And my entry's just not working very well. I hope that if I read through it, things will work out.

I am also very sad because I dropped my brownies on the way into the van after a youth group meeting today. And they were pretty good, all chocolatey and gooey and amazing.

And I have a song stuck in my head. I see signs now all the time, that you're not dead, you're sleeping. I'll believe in anything that brings me back home to you...

I have yet to receive tax information from one of my various sources. Kinda annoying seeing as I got an end-of-month January statement but still no 2009 taxes form. Grrr...

Also, apologies to my partner, but today was hectic and confusing and I've only had 2 minutes here or there to jump online and haven't gotten much of anything written at all.

I will stay up late if I have to, but I'm getting this done before I go to sleep!

I am skipping out on the Super Bowl altogether tomorrow and going to the pet parade downtown instead. Last year, it was said to have between 5,000-8,000 dogs (they couldn't really count them all), several goats, a few pigs and one cat. Sounds like my type of crowd :)
