I was just having a conversation last night with someone who mentioned having her first "Idol dream". I assured her that it was completely normal. Sooner or later, Idol shows up in your dreams! Veterans know what I'm talking about. I'm not sure though, because it hasn't fully come up before now this season with the folks who started out as "newbies" this time around - Any "Idol dreams"?

I know I'll have an Idol Dream sometime when the heat really picks up for me. When I'm worrying about being eliminated for days on end? Yeah it'll be that night I have a dream.

I tend to do that with new jobs and such. Once I start throwing myself into the work, I'll have dreams for a few days on end about it. Usually it's bad vibes, like I screwed up with a customer, or everything's piling up and I'm drowning in paperwork.

ON A HAPPIER NOTE! IT'S FRIDAY!!! :D

This weekend I'll have to work out quite a bit to keep up with the lifting, THOUGH all the boxes ARE done! :D But... there's probably going to be a lot more to do after March 1st... IF they keep me around that long....

I used to have a lot of math dreams when I was doing math 8 hours a day. Like... I just dreamed in math. But I don't think it was because I was worried or stressed, just saturation.

Sometimes I actually miss dreaming in math.

I haven't had Idol dreams yet, but that's probably 'cause there's no room with all the designing dreams and the occasional OMG WE'RE OFF THE AIR dreams I still get even though I left the station 3 years ago.

Today ('cause I count Fridays as part of the weekend), I need to finish a wrap for the shop, write a pattern, and then clean the house. Exciting.

I have a crochet guild chapter meeting tomorrow morning so I have to prep for that (I'm the president and founder of this chapter) and my mother has decided to invite herself along so she can see the shop. So I get to spend like 5 hours with her. Yay. Two of those hours we'll be trapped in the car for the ride there and back. I'm really hoping John gets his taxes done quickly in the morning so he can go as a buffer. Although she's been doing better lately, so hopefully it will be okay.

Sunday is blessedly quiet as of now.

Oh, I remember dreaming about Idol.

In fact, I dreamed about a former Idol contestant last night. In the dream, she was actually the sister I wrote about in Idol Musings.

We didn't get along any better. We were both trying to be the "favorite girl." As I tried in vain to reconcile, she was actively lobbying against me to "daddy."

I have some odd issues. It doesn't help that my real sister will be in town next week, and rather than asking me if we wanted to get together, she wrote to see if I had any local business contacts she could meet while here.

Unfortunately the weather here is miserable, cold, windy, and raining. Go north 15 miles and you have ice, up 20 miles and it's snow. Charlotte always falls on the line between the rain/ice/snow so you never know which we'll get.

My exciting plans for the weekend is to fly to Kuching in East Malaysia. I don't really feel like flying, though, having just flown all over Europe last month. Luckily I won't be flying again until March 31st after that. :)

I have a feeling I will leave too early tomorrow morning to get the chance to read my partner's entry, as I believe he said he's going to be trying to post it today.

Wow, no, I've never had an Idol dream. But it's pretty rare I dream about the internet at all.

I am super excited about the intersection this week! emo_snal is awesome to work with and we are having tons of fun. It's also fun to work with someone I don't know super well because the way we're creating our entries pretty much demands we get to know each other better! So we have been talking about comics and cocktails and alternate modes of transportation!

It's time for me to go to work, and then I'm going to my parents' for the weekend. Next week, I'm going to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and liret-- still figuring out how I'll get my Idol entry done that week. I will probably just need to bring my tablet!

I did lettering homework last night! That is when you practice your letters for comics! There is this crazy little thing called an Ames Guide that you are supposed to use to get your lettering perfect by drawing lines that look like those old lined papers you use in elementary school? Anyway, it pretty much broke half my leads. Annoying as hell. But once it was down and I lettered over it-- that part was pretty impressive. I would like something like graphite transfer paper to lay down the lines instead of this tool, though.

Yeah, it's going to be strange posting from Maine when I go up in a week--but I am sure I will get it done! My friend has a computer I can use, so I'll work it out. Bringing your tablet with you sounds like a good plan.

I'm always very impressed with people who can do nice lettering. I've never been a fan of my letters, even when I'm using guides. Blargh.

Good morning all! I stayed up far too late last night and I'm feeling it today. But I'm sure that I will push through.

I don't very often remember my dreams when I wake up, so I can't say that I have had Idol dreams. Now Idol daydreams are another story...

Spent most of last night working on my entry. It's still not done, but at least I'm making some progress. And my partner is awesome for helping me when I felt stuck. ♥ Mandi.

No plans for this weekend of much excitement. Finish my entry. Fill out my FAFSA. Apply to jobs. Catch up on some tv viewing. Maybe laundry and knitting.

Yes, I dream of Idol. I dream of meeting different contestants, they are usually strange dreams when someone comes up to me in the store and starts talking about one of my entries and I don't know this person. Finally, I realize they know me from Idol and I cannot figure out how they found me. Several of you have "shown up" in my dream that way. Sometimes those who "find me" in the dreams demand a lot of background about my entries. "Why did you write this? Why did you think this is true?"

Idol is a "secret" for me so I often have dreamed that my mom (a very, very conservative person) and other relatives discover DrippedOnPaper and then when I see her, she starts lecturing me of how I am going to hell for being part of something like this ("They use the word 'Idol,' you know idols are EVIL, and the smut they write, that you wrote. There is no redeption for you, ever.")

And sometimes I dream I am part of certain entries others wrote. Sometimes I'm the one they wrote about, sometimes I'm a friend of their kids, etc. Some entries become nightmares that are hard to shake. Some are um, very pleasant dreams that don't need to be shared LOL.

Idol often inhabits my dreams, I guess because it's such an enjoyable part of my life. I don't have anyone IRL to talk to about Idol so I guess my dreams are my way of "discussing it" with myself. I don't know.

Glad to know I am not the only one with Idol Dreams.

Oh and I have dreamed more than once that I won and how I reacted. I cried. I danced. I couldn't believe it. I logged in just to stare at it over and over.

But THAT is just a dream:) I have some guesses who might win this year but I don't have the votes for it.

I get what you mean about people finding out about your lj/lj idol posts -- I've not had dreams about that but wondered how I'd react to that if it happened. Most of my entries are f'locked for that reason -- it's definitely not something I share w/ the majority of my friends/family. :D

Well, I'm leaving sunny Florida in a couple hours to go to nice and cold Michigan to visit some friends. It was kind of an impromptu plan, which is so unlike me, but I'm sure it'll be full of fun :).

I've had a few Idol dreams here and there, nothing lately though, or at least nothing that I can remember!

I'm working on my topic post; I'm hoping to get it written by tonight, but am definitely glad that we have a few more days! My choices are Current Events or Apathy; I've got an idea for CE; I'm not sure I care enough to write anything about apathy, LOL.

I bowled well last night - a 129 and 137 - so that makes me happy!! I almost got a turkey but wound up with a cornish game hen instead (two strikes and a 9, LOL).

Weekend plans? Probably a jammie weekend indoors.
The weather is nasty here, this wintery mix stuff that's making everything slippery and sloppy.

On a positive note, federal tax money came today. So bye bye medical bills and we still have a few bucks left over so the hubby is picking up a PS3 and I am getting some lens for my camera and then anything left after that is going into savings. As much as it sucked paying for the hubby's skills classes this summer out of pocket it made for a nice little chunk of change in terms of tax returns.

We just received all of our W-2s and stuff end of last week (deadline for them to be mailed out anyways)...

Probably do our taxes soon...longer you wait...it's likely state won't give you a refund (get an IOU or something like that)

I also get out of Psychology today. Yay for plays!

And I get to go out for Chinese food today. Woooo! So excited; I've been craving Chinese food for months and months and months. Maybe even since before Christmas.

*needs to contact theafaye about Idol Musings*...because I haven't received my copy at all (I could have sworn I emailed her our snail mail address)

*waves to everyone*....it's bloody TGIF...actually it's last day of freedom for the next 2-3 weeks. We've been battling with the county of Los Angeles, trying to get Carrie's birth records...For some reason they keep saying that they haven't received the fax we've sent to them twice...(we ordered the records via the internet and they require a faxed notary statement verifying she is who she is)

I fear we may have to drive 400 miles just to see an actual clerk and then wait for another 10 days to get Carrie's birth records in the mail. *le sighs*...Why are going through all this trouble??

Claudia wants to take Carrie to the Philippines this summer to meet her family there and we need a passport...I think we'll end up having to pay extra money to get the expedited passport...ugh...more $$ and no time to do it.

As for Idol Dreams....they're more like nightmares...and it was about Season #4 and about a certain someone from that season (If folks were around then, they'll know whom I'm referring to)

Really, it's become a bit of an obsession for me since I spend so much time lately chatting with you all, working on my entries and reading all of yours. Some of the imagery in your entries is so incredible that it's bound to make its way into my dreams, whatever few of them I have. I'm a raging insomniac!

Yay Friday!! Now why do I have to have piles of meetings?

I am having breakfast with my dear pooder3480 and her hubby and daughter tomorrow morning... then going to my friend Tom's birthday party in the south bay tomorrow night...

And of course, Superbowl Sunday, wine country style! My girlfriends and I are having a girls-only party and making gourmet snacks like homemade soft pretzels, grilled barbecue stuffed potato skins, etc.

I haven't dreamed of Idol lately, but I have dreamed of those pretzels.
