It's bloody freezing today! My car thermometer says 15 degrees, but the wind makes it more like 0.

I'm working again today, and trying to get out as early as possible, which never works. Watch me still be sitting at my desk until I absolutely can't wait anymore. I can't send out my discovery submission until the client approves it, but it has to go out today, so I'm in a quandry.

Otherwise, things are ok. We have birthday parties for the next two nights, but otherwise nothing else on the calendar but housework, laundry and journalling our vacation adventures :)

Got my post in and slowly started my way through reading the others. Good times. And I have to say, that even 12 weeks in, it still amazes me and warms the cockles of my heart to see those encouragin comments. You guys are awesome.

Tonight I am going to a birthday party that requests "elegant dress". Luckily my friend informed me that she's just going to wear a dress. Since it's her party, I figure I'm safe if I go a similar route. ;)

This morning I discovered that none of the security locks at my office are working. This is not such a good thing since we process lots and lots of money and have quite a bit of confidential information on premise. Wonder how long they've all been "green." Since I am a responsible person I told my boss. Apparently none of the other half dozen or more people who came in before me noticed!

I had a two-hour delay before school today! So I'm just getting ready to go in now.

My partner and I have just talked about what we're going to do, and I'm about to start writing my entry. We're gonna go from there and try to interconnect them somehow. I'm going to start writing my entry after school.

But for now, I have to gather enough energy to go into school for four hours. :(

I stopped and picked up some Panera bagels this morning to bring to work with me, w00t. Nom nom nom!

I did better at bowling last night. I got a 98 and a 139, and our team took both games plus pins once again. Whee! I also have a first draft of my essay done, and will hopefully get it posted later today.

It's friggin' cold here, about 15 degrees, and might snow later this evening. We'll see.

Mmmmm. I was borderline about stopping for a bagel this morning, but I just drove to work without breakfast. Luckily, it looks like I WILL be able to get out of here fairly early, so I can go home and have some soup for lunch :)

We're getting SNOW!! SNOW!!! It's very exciting, it almost never snows here. The only downside is it's happening on a weekend so we don't get out of work for it. Boooo! But I'll have lots of time this weekend to curl up on the couch with a blanket and hot chocolate and my laptop of read awesome entries.

And my entry is done, so YAY! I really like what I posted this week, but a lot of commenters seem to be focusing on something I didn't intend to be the focus, so maybe I didn't do as good a job as I thought. Anxious waiting for the poll!! Usually I post so late I don't have to wait for it- this is weird! ;)

I am about to start the 3 hour drive to our corporate headquarters, where I have 3 interviews (with 6 people total) to try and land a promotion to our hands-down coolest department (Creative Services). I've prepared for the interview pretty well, but I'm still a nervous wreck and feel a little bit like puking. Wish me luck at 1:00pm Pacific today!!!

Snow, freezing rain, icy roads, black ice... all just par for the course here... just a regular Tuesday in January (yes, I know it's Friday, but it could be any day). It was cold enough last night that I'd had to stop and put HEET in the car and fill it back up (I never like to let it get below half a tank when it's this cold out) at quarter to 2 in the morning after Homebuddy and I got back from a great night at the bar (Homebuddy was sweet enough to pump for me), and to have to turn the heat in the house all the way up to 75° just to get the temperature into the 60s (the furnace has to work harder when it's in the negative digits outside, but, yeah, it's about time to change the filter... the pace quickens during these harshest months).

This morning I was out walking my dog, and there was a light dusting of snow covering a thick layer of black ice, obscuring it from my sight as I walked, so as I hit it, I went down. My dog was immediately concerned, trying to get me on my feet, but as I was surrounded by black ice, it was a bit difficult to find secure enough footing to stand, which of course made my dog think this was an exciting new game, so she'd throw herself down flat bellied on the ice, tail in the air, wagging like crazy, tongue hanging out, and anxiously ready for whatever was the next stage of the game. Silly girl.

But, I do so love that obnoxious giant teddy bear.

My sister had her first child yesterday and he arrived healthy.

I'm so glad, she did a home birth. He was born with the cord around his neck, wasn't breathing at all but they suctioned and gave oxygen and he's ok.

I'm just so glad the midwife was also an EMT so she could HAVE oxygen.

I had my 3 in a hospital. I'm just glad my sister's choice turned out ok after all.

He is BEAUTIFUL. Looks like her husband.

:) I always wanted to do homebirth but was rather chicken. I did have my youngest in a midwives-only birth center, though. It was an amazing experience.

Congratulations, Auntie!
